Just so relaxing

Door got stuck and couldn't get in. After panicking for a while the lovely caretaker come and opened the door. So ended up laughing about it . Only worry was trying to call properly through booking.com but phone number was invalid . Luckily someone was home next-door.

The cottage is very well equipped and well furnished (even though you have to go hunting a little, I thought this added to the charm). It was clean, warm and comfortable: the wi-fi worked and all the appliances seemed to be in good order. The provision of a dishwasher and washing machine was welcome.

It would have been nice to be able to lay my hands on some cutlery. I carry my own set so it wasn't an issue this time, but it would be nice to know where it is on my return in the future. It would be very nice to have a slightly larger freezer for an extended visit, but given the constraints of the property's size and layout, I suspect this would be difficult. It isn't a dealbreaker anyway but just trying to think of 'how could this be perfect'.

Lovely getaway a proper cottage experience

Cottage was warm and cosy, quirky and quaint!! Very warm welcome,with milk left and cake, and bag of firewood for the wood burner. We loved the squeaky floorboards and strangely spiralling stone staircase,and especially the underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom!! We loved returning to the cottage after a chilly day out- it was like coming home

We liked it all, but can imagine that older people or people with children would be horrified by the toilet at the top of the spiral stairs, and the squeaky floorboards could be annoying if you had someone running about upstairs. But, none of this applied to my grown up daughters and me, and we would go there again- we had a great stay.
