Amazing view, clean facilities and modern look to the apartment. Convenient location as cafe and restaurant just underneath. Loved the sound of the beach at night as well!!

The location was fantastic, Katherine was a pleasure to deal with. There were welcome cheese and crackers supplied, and a wide range of teas and coffees to choose from. Super attention to detail. A very relaxing stay.

The only challenge was finding a carpark in the very busy, popular neighbourhood, but there was a loading zone which was helpful

Fantastic location and a stunning view with very good options for dining extremely close. The host went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and supplied lovely treats for us.

Arguably the best apartments in Dunedin! The most incredible position on St Clair beach, with both of our rooms having sea views so when you woke up you felt like you were in the surf. But it was the extraordinary fit out of the apartments that was so outstanding: the heating was on when we arrived so beautifully warm and delicious cheese and crackers in the fridge which we really appreciated as we were staving and arrived lated. A whole bottle of the freshest milk and a fully kitted kitchen with gorgeous tea cups and a selection of gourmet teas. Even the bathroom had a spare toothbrush and toothpaste in case you had forgotten yours, power sockets in all the right places so you could plug in phones and hair stylers. The best was even a portable full size mirror, which for us was a godsend when we had graduate girls all trying to get ready at once. Booking was seamless and entry into the place was soooo easy. They even have a carpark outside the apartment if you are lucky. the little lounge was perfect for a glass of champagne before going out for dinner and if it had been warmer we could even had sat out on the deck. And then to top it off they let us have a slight extension so we could enjoy a mother's day lunch. We were over the moon! Congratulations Hydro Esplanade & Catherine and Mark - we stay all over NZ and I've never seen this level of service and care in accommodation at this price scale. The only thing I am sad about is that I didnt't discover this place 8 years ago when I started coming down to Dunedin twice a year for university trips to see my daughters. We will come down again just to stay in the apartments. Just love ST Clair. thanks so much for making our special graduation weekend INCREDIBLE!!

Location, views, facilities & cleanliness

Roomy, comfortable apartment with stunning views. Friendly, attentive host who dealt promptly with any questions we had. Top class facilities, and a great location with easy access to local restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Although scaffolding was in use during our stay, we we're well prepared for this and compensated appropriately; didn't really bother us at all.

Slight hiccup in communication when collecting a key but was sorted reasonably promptly. Arriving on a busy Saturday afternoon with no obvious place to park and unload our car was initially problematic but was eventually resolved; suggest clear directions be given to future guests to avoid this hassle. Lots of free parking close by, but could be at a premium during the weekend.
