Close to St Charles railway station Lovely owner / concierge … very capable in English Air conditioning Great shower with good water pressure … a small thing, but it brings great joy to a traveller Easy walking to lots of interesting eating and tourism locations Quirky, interesting older style B&B.

I was fine with it, but the staircase is entirely what you’d expect in such a building … but some may not. It’s steep, tall, and not so well lit at night. Totally not for limited mobility folk. After dark return home I was okay climbing stairs but did need my phone torch to negotiate the key - keyhole interaction. Update: It appears that my comment concerning the stairwell lighting is misguided. I had just failed to notice / use the timer switch setup that was there. Perhaps I should add another 'pro' up above: "Tolerant of idiot tourists from New Zealand". Irrespective, it's a great little place to stay.

Really stylish room, a pleasure to stay there. And Caroline was a super-lovely host, offering to store our bicycles in her flat in the same building, and buying gluten-free bread for me for breakfast. Above all: FANTASTIC wallpaper! What’s not to like about Casa Ortega!?

Everything was super-lovely

Nous avons été très bien reçu et nous avons passé un superbe séjour. Les chambres sont à l'ancienne, propre et bien aménagées. Le petit déjeuner était très bien, comme à la maison. Caroline est très avenante et nous a superbement conseillé sur les endroits à visiter.

Was near the center of old Marseille within easy walking distance of the old port. Right across the street from the train station. Proprietor was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Very secure. Good breakfast included in the price.

It was a bit hard to find on a small street. Just a small sign on the door. A better location description and/or directions would have helped us (and our taxi driver).

Wenige Meter vom Bahnhof entfernt. Frühstück üppig. Ausstattung der Zimmer ist sehr gut, auch ein kleiner Wasserkocher ist verfügbar. Alles sehr sauber. Sehr nette Hausbesitzerin.

Located near the station and with easy access to the old port. Supermarket, cafés and boulangerie all nearby. Lovely breakfast in sparkling company. Casa ortega had a lot of character.

It may be useful for some clients to know that there are stairs to climb however I did not find this an issue.

The guesthouse is fantastic, wonderfully decorated with plenty of room and in a great location for exploring the wonderful city of Marseille. Caroline was a fantastic host too, friendly with a wealth of local knowledge.

It’s a perfect place to stay to visit Marseille, centrally located, comfy and homely and fantastic breakfast. We got some great recommendations for the city too. Also love the decor! We will be back.

Location was great, right next to the train station. Owner was super friendly and nice, made sure our luggage was taken up the stairs and down. Breakfast was great with homemade yogurt and muesli. Also two friendly cats added to the atmosphere,

I have a great room with a very comfortable bed and plenty of towels. Caroline the host was so very helpful and treated me like a family member. A very relaxed atmosphere and so close to the train station and a small walk down to the port.

We stopped over in Marseille for one night. Therefore, the location was perfect. We only walked 2 minutes max to the train station. Although we arrived very late, we were able to check in very easily and Caroline even waited for us with breakfast the next morning and gave us a few tips for the stay and the onward journey.

The location was excellent less than 5 minutes from the Station and an easy 10 minute walk to the Vieux Port which was spectacular,also the Metro station is at the Railway station as an alternative route to the Port The room was very clean and comfortable,the Host was exceptional she was very friendly and helpful and provided an excellent breakfast ,plus luggage storage a gem!!

This was a great place to stay, a real find. Just near the station and though not in an obviously 'nice' location, inside it is beautiful and full of character. Very helpful, friendly and informative owner, good breakfast, everything needed in the room and very comfortable.

Casa Ortega is very close to the train station, easy to find, close to the main attractions in Marseille and a perfect place for us to stay on this trip. Caroline was terrific -- she was quick to respond and very helpful in every way. Breakfast was terrific.

great people at casa Ortega. Caroline was so friendly and welcoming and the whole booking and arrival was sooo easy. also mentioning the Philipino who is working there. very nice guy too.

Caroline was amazing! The breakfast was delicious. The decor is so fun. Caroline gave us so much useful advice about travelling around Marseille and was great to have a chat with. She even carried out bags downstairs for us in high heels! What a woman!
