The location was stunning and peaceful. 14mins from the Japanese hot springs. The breakfast was delicious with homemade yogurt. Highly recommend getting the homemade lamb shanks for dinner! We had a intimate romantic dinner by the fireplace. The price and portions was great value! Best shanks I've ever had. The meat literally fell off the bone Also the friendly resident cat Sammy made our trip so much better.

Margory was a lovely host and very accommodating. Great location with sweeping views of the countryside. Nice and cosy in winter with fireplace in breakfast room.

Greg was very lovely and made sure we were comfortable. The property is gorgeous and the views are stunning. Very nice to walk around and see the cows, alpacas, the dogs and the cat! So peaceful and relaxing! Kudos on Greg's jardin potager! Breakfast was delicious with home made muesli, yogurt and fresh croissants.

Good value for money

Gorgeous property. We only booked it as an “ in between stop” to Orange for a fair price but were very pleasantly surprised. The host is super friendly, very comfortable bed and great views. You also have access to a lovely living room. We’ll definitely be back for a whole weekend

Very nice and relaxed host. The house and the room felt like a home away from home. The breakfast was delicious and mostly homemade. Room and Bathroom were very clean and the bed was really comfy. It's really quiet and after a short drive you are close to everything you want.

Springmead is a great place to stay, it has an honest and comfortable country style of accomodation that makes you feel at home. We have stayed over during a few trips to see an old family friend in Lithgow and always been very happy when staying in any room that was available. The rooms are well furnished, kept very tidy and clean and especially quite during the night; no traffic! Breakfast provided is purfect good to the morning with a great special mix of cereal, yoghurt, fruit,cakes, fresh juice, jams with tea and coffee. If you need to pre-order a cooked hot meal at night you also won't be disappointed either. The short drive to Springmead from the highway is a great way to see Lake Lyell and parts of the beautyfull green undulating country that you may not have seen before. Hosts Margory and Greg certainly provide a happy and comfortable stay!

After check in we were alerted by the owner that we were considered a bio security threat because of foot and mouth in Indonesia and unable to walk around the property. We are from Melbourne. What the hell does foot and mouth in Indonesia have to do with us? I won't answer as I have my own thoughts. If this disease is considered such a threat by the owners why is there no warning prior to booking on restrictions on movement outside? The living room had a bad smell and furniture was outdated. Bathroom was outside bedroom in a shared hallway. Luckily there were no other guests otherwise it would have been totally uncomfortable going to bathroom. Gardens were poorly maintained with bull ants everywhere outside in areas you were actually allowed to sit. So impossible to spend any time outside alongside restrictions of movement around property due to bio security threat. I tried to address the biosecurity issue with owner privately before I did this public review but her response was totally unacceptable.
