The shower curtains were not waterproof plástico at least so the bathroom was always wet

The room was small, but more than adequate and quite charming. I don't remember requesting a quiet room, but the room certainly was not quiet. One could hear all the traffic noises and group conversations happening on the street just below me. The walls are very thin and you can hear people moving about in the adjacent rooms and sound of locks opening and closing . None of this bothered me though. The only thing that I would have preferred was to have had a concierge on site. The owners were not on property the majority of the time and it was necessary to contact them by WhatsApp. Also, the online communication gave the impression that the proprietors spoke English, which later in-person it was very clear that they did not. Again, that's fine, but it ought to have been communicated prior to arriving that my hosts did not actually speak English. I would have been better prepared , through research, to have asked questions in Spanish. Overall, the stay was very nice. The breakfast in the hostal restaurant was absolutely perfect and was exactly what I expected it to be. I would definitely recommend Hostal Batato to friends, but I would definitely inform them of the issues I have outlined above, so that they might prepare accordingly.

Ideal, good value, option for stays in Vejer with ample parking and easy access to the town and the coast. Very helpful and friendly management, good food in the venta below, clean and comfortable

One minor point is that wi-fi is unavailable in the bedrooms upstairs but available in the common parts downstairs.
