Kitchen was well appointed. Getting into the city was easy using any of several busses. Really good internet. Comfortable beds.

Spacious house just a 15 min walk from the centre of York! Do not miss Heworth Plaice, the fish and chip shop across the road! Very relaxing place to stay 😊

Beds were very creaky , and could have done without the waterproof bedsheet which makes the bed too hot .
need a sink in the toilet to wash hands - having a aerate toilet to bathroom defeats the purpose if there is no wash hand basin .

Lovely property in a little village close to local amenities and a walkable distance to the centre of York.

The property is in a lovely area with amenities including an amazing cafe just across the road. You can literally drive and park up for the entire stay as it’s barely a 10 minute wander to the centre of York.
The property was great value for the price and it was nice to have a garden to sit out in.
The kitchen needs a revamp, we only used the cooker to do pizzas and it was a painfully slow experience, I’m not sure you could stay and eat in every night etc!

Lovely house, well appointed, great location. Only 1 mile from city walls. Direct bus available to city centre and racecourse. Very helpful owners who go the extra mile in providing assistance to their guests when required. Highly recommended.

The house has loads of charming period features and the bedrooms were clean, airy and comfy. The backroom was cozy and comfortable and a nice space to unwind and watch tv with the family after dinner. The garden was clean and tidy with tables and chairs if you want to eat outside or have your morning coffee with the songbirds. The location is a great launching off point for sightseeing. There are shops close by with an amazing deli across the street. It was relatively quiet at night and there was plenty of space in wardrobes and drawers for things if you just have to get your things out of your suitcase. The host lives next door, is friendly, helpful and greeted us on arrival. We had an issue with the TV and he came over straight away to help us sort it out and took care of the bins on bin day so we didn't have to think about it. All in all it was a very positive stay that made our time in York more enjoyable.
The kitchen is very small (but serviceable) and takes a little getting used to. The oven was a bit awkward to use and we had trouble cooking a frozen pizza when we tried to do it how we'd do it at home. There must be a trick to it but we didn't really figure it out. There wasn't quite enough crockery for our habits and a few more plates, bowls, pots and pans would be helpful (maybe a pizza tray?). It is a small kitchen, so the quantity is to scale but if you are a family, you will need to be fastidious about washing up or you won't have crockery for breakfast. Some dishes were a bit dirty and we needed to wash them again, perhaps they missed inspection on changeover. It also might be a good idea to have hand sanitizers around the place and wipes for occupants to use. Not sure you can be too clean these days. These are minor, minor issues for what was a very pleasant stay.

The location was excellent. Central York within walkable distance but property also close to main bus routes. Various small shops nearby to supply essentials. Very good fish and chip shop.
