Location is excellent, 10 mins walk to the centre of York. The breakfast is all local food freshly cooked and the staff are all local and lovely. The hotel itself is a bit tired and dated although comfortable.

We liked the location. Very close to the York Minster. Staff friendly. Size of bedroom and bathroom was good.Breakfast was tasty and served very quickly and always piping hot.

There was an extra cost for parking-£7 a day. There was a constant smell of food / old cooking oil throughout the hotel. The ceiling in the main dining room was brown- probably from the heat from the toaster. Decor was dated throughout the hotel. Needs updating.

All staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the Cathedral and other attractions.

The shower was a bit temperamental.

My navigation app sent me on the wrong street and the receptionist was so kind and patient to assist me in finding the hotel. She also helped me put my bike in a secured place. I appreciated very much that I was given the opportunity to leave my bike and my luggage at the hotel all day after check out while I visited the city. And the location of the hotel was so perfect. Room was exceptionally clean and vast.

Location perfect for walking around York without the need for taxis. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices and cooked breakfast ordered to your choice.Nothing a problem to the staff who I have to say were the best I’ve seen in a long time. Paid half the amount to stay in this hotel than other hotels in York, which were nowhere near as good as The Minster.

Lovely chatty staff that held onto my partners ring she left after check-out. Good location and only a short walk into the historic city centre. Breakfast was good with choice of full english, hot sandwhiches and buffet style.

Only issue was we got a bed with a non existant mattress (was like sleeping on a board) but for the price there was no complaints.

Very close to city centre but also very quiet. Shower facilities good.

WiFi very slow and a small fridge in room would have been useful for things we bought

we have been going to this hotel on and off for years as it’s 1/2 to London. in fact we knew it as Hudson Hotel before all extensions etc. always very friendly staff. good location and good brekkie and parking

we were in lodge bedroom which was good but I didn’t like the window as when opened especially at night felt vulnerable as it opens all the way. a new window with a hopper too would be better. personal choice

The location of the hotel was great with there being lots of places to visit within a ten minute walk. The staff were very friendly and efficient and supplies of tea and coffee facilities in the room plentiful. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. Excellent value hotel for the money.
