The best place in the old chora!

Wij verbleven van 24/4 tot 3 mei op het eiland Kea in de plaats Loulida. Een prachtig dorp gelegen op twee heuvels. Het huis waar we verbleven heet 3-level doll house en het is inderdaad een huis met drieverdiepingen en…een super dakterras vanwaar je een uitzicht hebt over het dorp en een deel van het eiland! Op de begane grond de keuken een wc, de eerste etage de woonkamer en op de tweede verdieping de slaapkamer en de badkamer/wc. Het is heel persoonlijk ingericht en ademt de liefde uit van de bouwers en eigenaren van het huis, Marios en zijn vrouw. Marios wacht ons op op de parkeerplaats van het dorp, auto’s zijn niet welkom in het dorp waardoor het ook erg rustig is. Het betekent wel dat je een flink stuk moet lopen met je bagage. Maar Marios helpt ons met sjouwen. Marios is een hele lieve, behulpzame, attente man die vol enthousiasme verteld over de geschiedenis van zijn huis. De ruimtes zijn niet groot maar zijn erg doordacht ingericht. Er ontbreekt niets, aan alles is gedacht. Het huis is pico bello in orde, schoon en fris. Echt een unieke ervaring die we nergens anders aantroffen tijdens onze meerdere reizen op tal van eilanden. Voor de woning is een ontmoetingsplek voor katten! Elke morgen zitten er zeker tien katten te wachten op gevoerd te worden onder luid gemiauw. (Wij zijn kattenliefhebbers en hebben altijd kattenbrokjes bij ons. Marios is ook een enthousiaste kattenliefhebber en heeft alle katten een naam gegeven! Nog één ding: de douchekop en de doucheslang zijn de allernieuwste in het hele dorp maar daar kan Marios jullie alles over vertellen 🤪. Het dorp is gezellig, er zijn een aantal restaurants waarvan voor ons het restaurant aan de ingang van het dorp, links naast de poort het beste was. Het vriendelijke echtpaar, dat ook de maaltijden bereidt, doen hun uiterste best om heerlijke gerechten op tafel te toveren. Het eiland is prachtig!

Alles was super!

Marios was a great host, waiting for my arrival in advance! Very communicative, shared his love for the island, pointing out things to do, places to eat at, etc The house is a dream, very clean and has an awesome view of the whole village of Ioulis! A jewel in Ioulida! I felt really welcomed and enjoyed a lot my first stay in this island! Thank you for your warm presence and for making my stay unforgettable Marios!

Nothing I didn't like! Lots of stairs inside since the house is on 3 levels, but nothing I didn't know about!....

This adorable house is close to Ioulida's Piatsa and Kea's trails. There's a mini-market nearby, cafes and restaurants , and a supermarket within a short (admittedly uphill!) walk. The place is kept clean and is well equipped with everything you might need. Marios is an amazing host and can share his knowledge about the place. Just be warned - you'll definitely get lost in the magical alleyways!

The property is a traditional Greek house and although compact has everything you need for a break (we stayed a week). Our host Marios was very helpful throughout, from his communications prior to our trip, to meeting us at the property and showing us around, to collecting the keys when we left. The property is in central Ioulida and close to the bus stop, taxi rank, mini-markets and restaurants. It is also a great centre for hiking (if that is your thing) with numerous waymarked routes.

Not a criticism but if you visit out of season be aware that most of the restaurants/tavernas are likely to be closed.

The property was exactly as described and shown in the photos, and is very well appointed and equipped with everything you need. Marios is a wonderful host and is keen to share his knowledge to ensure you have a great time.

There were no negatives but you need to have good strength and mobility to cope with the demands of staying in a house with steep narrow stairs in a town built on a very steep hillside. You should also be aware that if visiting in October many of the shops and restaurants will have closed (or partially closed) for winter.

Location, house

The house is in a very special location in a car-free village of traditional Kea houses. It was well equipped for a short or extended stay. Marios gave us a very helpful introduction to the house.

My husband is a fairly tall, big built man, so the small proportions of the house were at times awkward for him but fine for me.
