Very clean and very polite and accommodating staff...the jacuzzi is a sure plus..

The rooms are very packed, some bed [ like mine] had no chance of privacy and there is to space for our stuff or anywhere to hang any clothes or leave our things.

The location is ideal, very close to the ADO bus station and to La Cañada area with many restaurants and cafes. They provide towels and drinkable water. The beds of the dorm are comfortable. The reception is open during the night, which is very convenient in case your bus arrives at night.

Given the temperatures in Palenque, I was very surprised when I noticed there were no sheets on the bed but blankets. I understood it later: there is a big air conditioning in the dorm, that the other guests switched on when they went to sleep. I was sooo cold and the noise was sooo loud that I could hardly sleep... The place lacks charm and atmosphere. In my opinion there is no reason for the price to be high by Mexican standards.

Good location. The staff was helpful. Spoke a little English. Comfortable bed and clean. I liked that they did not switch off AC.

Top class facilities. The kitchen was the best one I have seen during my 6 months in Mexico. The Jacuzzi tho!!! wow, pure luxury for a relatively cheap hostel. The hammocks & general outside area was amazing too.

Nothing. It was without doubt the best place I’ve stayed in in Mexico.

All the staff were really great, liked that they sold a few items at reception (water, soda, snacks), laundry facilities were a bonus, pool has jets and is nice. Bidet's on the 3 toilets and the toilets were cleaned multiple times a day. Close to nice restaurants. AC is room almost worked too well (almost)

I don't like having a key for the 4-bed dorm. To big to want to carry in pocket.

The hostel is really close to the ADO bus station and from the center. The staff is very welcoming and available for any questions or needs. It’s also close to a lot of restaurants. The facilities are really nice. I stayed on a shared room with double beds and had the chance to be own my own, so it was a plus.

The swimming pool was under construction so I couldn’t benefit from it, but it looked like cool repairs. So enjoy!

Highly recommended: The beds are comfy The service is friendly and excellent The hammocks are lovely The showers were clean There's a kitchen (not that common in Mexico do far) They are putting in a new small pool There's an air conditioner in the room (didn't try it) It's located very close to the bus station There's no light but your bed, so maybe use your phone light, but there are plugs You can pay to wash and dry your clothes on the premises (drier is currently down, but they will take it to be dried for you). It's a min cost of 67 pesos

There's no pump for the drinking water container so lots of water is spilled and cleaning it up wasted a lot of paper towels.

I loved Casa Janaab because of the people I met there! Common area is super nice, stuff was so kind and how I said, we made a great friendships there.

The rooms are not the most amazing ones, some single beds in the dorms are next to the doors (literally head 5cm next to the doors) and without curtains, so veeery hard to sleep.

You have to pay for keep tour stuff after the check out. You have only one litter of water for free. Check everything if you wanna change something in your booking, I modified my reservation and instead of keep the same price for night, they increased the price of my second night, THIS HOSTEL ONLY WANTS TO MAKE MONEY WITH THE TRAVELERS.

Facilities

Customer Service and lack of communication between staff. They mistakenly checked me out, gave my bed to someone else (even though my stuff was there and my reservation was for 3 nights) then charged me extra for "luggage storage". THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MY STUFF AT THE FRONTDESK IT WAS STILL ON MY BED, AND THEY LOST A SWEATER. NEVER LEAVE YOUR KEYS!!!

Cleanliness

Very good location, very nice rooms and a perfect place to meet other travelers. My stay there was definitly excellent in all the most important matters.

The petty policy of the establishment, which considers charging sums (admittedly insignificant) for all services (5 pesos on a bottle of water in addition to the free bottle, 80 pesos to leave your bag at reception, still the same price to use the washing machine). These are not large amounts, but it is part of a business model I cannot endorse, a rayanair model to be precise, and it is felt in the relationship with customers (a bit of an accounting relationship, without excessive warm welcoming and care). Rather than simply raising prices a little and taking a genuine interest in the well-being of the customer, they preferred to opt for an optimization logic. Great. Their optimization made them lose two points in my appreciation, and again, it's because I really liked the place. (it's definitly not the fault of the workers here, it's a rooted general mindset of the promotor)
