We all loved it here. Great size for 8-9 adults and could have fit more. Enjoyed hiking in the area and using the bonfire and grill out back. Lots of rooms for different spots to hang out. Kitchen super well stocked for large group. Great place!

Highly recommend to all looking for a secluded weekend away in the beautiful hills of Vermont! This old farm house has plenty of character and room for large parties. The host is very friendly, open, and easy to communicate with.

Lovely location and very attentive hosts. The house could do with a bit more thorough clean and to be better organised, but we still had a lovely stay.

Quarry Hill is what Thanksgiving looks like!!! We had 12 family members and we all had beds and the table easily accomodated all! The views are breathtaking . You'll enjoy it!!

Beautiful property with stunning views for fall foliage. The house was large and very accommodating for our family of ten adults and four kids! The property manager Jenny was great and Informative and made us feel welcomed by checking in on us periodically. Overall wonderful stay.

A rustic and cute house with plenty of space and amazing views. Quiet location with lots of privacy.

In true "can do" fashion Jenny didn't let a little thing like a massive storm with downed trees, and power outages stand in the way of our visit. She provided us with alternative housing that allowed us to stay together, and focus on the wedding we were there to attend. Jenny is the very model of a modern major general!

The views are incredible. Plenty of room to play games, cook with friends, and enjoy each others’ company! Thank you so much to Jenny for the recommendations and hospitality. We had a wonderful time and my crew of 10 simply fell in love with Vermont thanks to this wonderful space!

Such a unique old sprawling farmhouse! Lots of room, and one of the most amazing views! Pretty much everything you need is in the house, it's just a bit hard to find since there's so much space. The area is great with so much to do. Jenny, the on site coordinator, will greet you and give you lots of insider tips of what to do. She is super easy to communicate with.
The oven and the grill were unfortunately not working properly when we were there, which was a little tricky. We didn't reach out to Jenny at the time as we found other ways to make dinner happen.
Keep in mind that there is no air conditioning in the house, so if it's hot out (like it was this weekend) you will just be hot. There are quite a few fans in the house which helped some.
Over all we enjoyed this spot for our cousin reunion trip!

Our extended family of 15 had a wonderful weekend at Quarry Hill Farm, celebrating two milestone birthdays. Everything was wonderful — easy checkin and checkout, the comfortable old farmhouse, gorgeous views from the patio (and many of the rooms!), a nice long walk on mostly dirt roads with few cars, a spacious kitchen that made it easy to prepare food for 15, clear instructions about garbage, recycling and the like, crisp linens and comfy beds, and several unique spaces that made it easy for groups of us to visit together, play board games, etc! In 15 minutes we were at the Clark Institute for a fabulous art exhibit, and MASSMoCA isn’t much further. Several times, people in our party commented in what an ideal space and location it was for us to gather. Although it was humid and rainy on Saturday, it cleared just enough for us to see the stunning cloud formation over the valley and pond from the patio, also the loveliest spot for a peaceful cup of coffee in the morning. Thank you, Jenny!

The kids had a blast exploring all the secret rooms in this property. The beds were very comfortable, and we all slept well. More pots and pans for cooking would have been helpful.

Beautiful home and property with lots of history. Peaceful and relaxing, and still close to many restaurants in Bennington. We had a wonderful time! Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at this adorable farm house. The views were incredible and the house had all we needed to celebrate a wonderful graduation. Jenny was incredible responsive and helpful, even running over to turn off the coffee pot when we forgot. Enjoy a trip in history..

We had a great weekend at Quarry Hill Farm. The house itself is large with beautiful views of the surrounding land. The beds were comfortable with clean linens. The common areas are a bit "lived in" but we didn't mind because it allowed us to feel relaxed with our kids and dog running around. We had a great, casual weekend with a large group

We booked for Christmas with our family of 15. The house was perfect for us…great layout, cozy, plenty of spaces to gather, and even a little hill out back where the kids could sled. Unfortunately we had to leave a couple days early due to issues with septic and heat. Jenny was a true gem … very responsive and helpful. She even managed to find us a nearby property so we could complete the last 2 days of our time together. She went above and beyond. It is a very old house, and things can go wrong that are not in anyone’s control. That said, I would definitely book there again. We loved the house!

This property is a great house for a large group. We had 8 adults and 4 young children. The extra offerings for the property are also amazing. Jenny, the property manager, was very communicative and helpful. She pointed us to a massage company that visits the property and offers in house massages which were amazing. Overall, this is a great property and a great rental experience that I would highly recommend!

This charming old farmhouse is a great place for a big family. We could cook, relax, roast marshmallows, stargaze, hike, visit museums, be together or apart. It was perfect for 15 people.

We booked Quarry Hill Farm for a small wedding ceremony and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We got married in the backyard and we really wanted to have time with our friends and family before and after the wedding so having the space and bedrooms vs a traditional hotel was a nicer alternative. Watching the cows wake up every morning and give us morning ‘moos’ was great, and you really can’t beat how beautiful the grounds are – the view is stunning, the area is gorgeous. It feels peaceful and the whole property has good vibes.
Jenny was welcoming, charming and kind – a great host. It’s clear they love what they do and it shows. We never felt rushed or a burden, she was always just a text away checking in and making sure we were happy (and even a happy wedding day text!) Also when she tells you to get the yogurt from down the road, GET THE YOGURT. Trust her, it’s out of this world good, we stocked up after check out.
Things to keep in mind: it’s an older house, it has it’s quirks – that’s part of the charm. If you can get into some of the antique gems (a hidden staircase) and the retro/vintage vibe of the newer part of the house this place is for you like it was for us. If you’re looking for a cookie cutter rental with modern blah blah blahs, this might not be for you – and that’s okay. This place is special, it hasn’t been roughly escorted to fit in with the trends to just make money and book more people. I love that about it. It feels in a way more genuine and real, like an actual home. Quarry Hill Farm is a Vermont farmhouse with beautiful views, comfortable bedrooms, and plenty of space with an excellent host.

This is an old house with a few quirks but no show stoppers. There were 11 adults in our group so the large table in the dining area was perfect. The weather was perfect except for one rainy day out of 4 days we were there. One of my sisters spent a lot of time outside enjoyin the fresh air and watching the cows in the pasture in back. i was surprised to find so mny routine supplies available (touliet tissue, napkins, dish detergent, etc.) The kitchen WAS well-stocked with pots, pans, lots of coffee cups and all size dishes. We had a great time together!

Despite a few blips, our family had a wonderful time. The great room adjoining the kitchen was a perfect place for us all to be together, while the various other public rooms were separate and quiet for those who needed that kind of space. View and grounds were magical. We had several rousing games of croquet on the lawn.

When we were seeking a location for our family gathering, we were all concerned about bedrooms and bathrooms: one senior celebrant who does not do stairs, two couples in the 6’ and taller range, a couple of flexible singles and bonus……. A lovely room for dear friends to join one night! Quarry Hill met all of these requirements with each room having a charming personality and a wee bit of quirkiness that we all loved…..check out the hidden staircase!
The house itself is an awesome collection of possibilities for gathering, eating, sharing smaller group conversations and just relaxing into a cozy chair for a read and melting away into a nap!
I have to say, I think all of us fell in love with just sitting on the hillside under the shade of the big split leaf maple or is it a silver maple - either way it’s a handsome old tree for practicing our mindful relaxing in frequent exercise of Cow Contemplation. Oh so incredibly relaxing and peaceful!
My personal favorite was the porch with the blue cushioned outdoor furniture. Sitting there in the early morning with first (and then second…… etc) coffee, while the little birds flitted in and out of the tree’s shade….. a hummingbird zipped back and forth sampling sweets here and there….. and bunnies……. Ahhhh……. Thank you for the hospitality and well stocked kitchen and the recommendation of Diana’s personal cheffing for a generous birthday dinner with Mom’s favorite, Carrot Cake!
Folks loved The Tubs……. Definitely a treat this hot summer week! All of us loved sitting out at night star gazing……. Some were up early enough in the morning to see the rafter of turkey poults and hens cruising in the upper fields behind the farmhouse…….. so many opportunities to leave the real world behind!
Loved this stay and will treasure our memories always! Thank you!

Disappointing
We are from Bennington and we’re back to visit with family and friends and show our kids where we grew up. The manager of the property made us uncomfortable, like we were being watched the whole time.
We started our stay cleaning up cobwebs full of spiders from above the beds in most of the rooms and showers. The cleaners had not cleaned other than putting down clean sheets and towels. Spiders are expected in country homes but if cleaners had been there (which we paid a cleaning fee) there would not have been thick webs with so many spiders everywhere.
There is not air conditioning in the house which we did not think to check in the listing. It would have been fine except we had a week of temps in the 90’s.
There are several dangerous things in the house that need to be fixed. A floor vent was covered with an area rug rather than fixed into place. It was in a tripping hazard in front of the sliders to the patio…the most used doors. Exposed nails sticking out in places that could easily be fixed throughout.
The fridge shelving falls off so we had an entire gallon of orange juice fall off the door, crack and spill on the floor.
It’s a country property so some nature is to be expected. We did find mice in the house.
Overall it’s a lovely view and beautiful country property, but could use some repairs. We enjoyed our stay and were fine overlooking all of the things we encountered. But it was ruined at the second to last day when we received a text from the manager that they were keeping our deposit because we had friends over.
Because we are from town we did have people visit us to catch up. We knew there was a charge for events but were under the impression it was for planned events of 30 or more people. There was not anything listed for a cost for people coming over for lunch or stopping by. They told us they were keeping the deposit because anyone who came to the house over the number of people listed in the contract we need to pay a fee for.
There is a full binder of rules and information. Some of the information does not match the VRBO listing. We followed all of the requests for where to place sheets, towels, food but they did not have garbage cans so the bags were in the garage where an animal got into them.
It was mainly a lot of rules, being watched and not left alone to enjoy our stay and a cost that was too high for a property that could use better accommodations.
We love Vermont and recommend a visit at another home.

Spacious and quirky layout - historic house was fun to explore. Located on a dirt road in the beautiful Vermont countryside. Quiet, with gorgeous views. Bedrooms were wonderfully comfortable.

Excellent farmhouse and views. Perfect Vermont weekend.
Had a group of friends stay here for a dinner party in late January to help break up the winter blues and we had an amazing time. The property manager, Jenny, was really great and quick to respond anytime we needed her (though, we didn’t need her often!). All of our friends agreed we should stay at Quarry Hill every year moving forward.

Wonderful Stay!
We had a wonderful stay in Powval, VT. The property was beautiful! Nearby a couple of different towns and nearby skiing. The property manager was so responsive and so helpful. She recommended numerous activities and we ended up doing the at home wine tasting.
We loved our stay and hope to be back in the Spring!

Family time in Vermont
We rented this place for the Holiday to spend with my immediate family. It accommodated us so well. Everyone had a bed to sleep in and there was plenty to do. We even had a professional photographer come and take pictures of our family with the gorgeous backdrop of the Vermont mountains! It was a great getaway!

The beginning of a family tradition
The farm is truly a magical place. It was the first time since the pandemic that we’ve been able to gather as a family and relax. The house was so rich with history and instantly made everyone feel at home. Jenny was a wonderful host; she was extremely welcoming and gave us lots of information about the area.

Quaint Vermont getaway
Quarry Hill Farm is perfectly situated on an idyllic country road in the Vermont Mountains. The house itself offers many opportunities for exploration, but is also close to attractions in Bennington, VT and Williamstown, MA. Don’t miss the relaxing hike up Quarry Hill (trailhead is a bit hidden on Rte 346 a check Google) - the views are awesome.

Peace in Vermont
Property was a spot of heaven for me, my spouse and his 3 sisters to have a family reunion. We had plenty of space to spread out and the beds were comfortable. Jenn, the property manager was amazing and so very kind to us during our stay. The location was remote enough to feel like we were really "out there" but still close enough to Williamson and North Adams. Bravo!!!

Cozy, stunning…just perfect!
This property was everything we hoped for and more! We had an intimate wedding ceremony and weekend with our closest friends and family here at Quarry Hill. Jenny was absolutely fantastic and so helpful with any questions we had and she checked in during our stay to make sure everything was going well. The views are stunning and the house is well stocked with all the essentials and more! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect location for our special weekend. Highly recommend staying here.

The Perfect Place for a Friend Reunion
We couldn't have had a better time at Quarry Hill Farm. The house was perfectly appointed and had plenty of space for everyone. Jenny was an impeccable host and check-in was a breeze. The suggestions she made we perfect for our group -- we loved the tubs and the yogurt farm! We are already scheming on a way to get back again together soon. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Weekend in Vermont
The Quarry Hill Farm is a very unique house in Vermont. We felt relaxed as soon as we arrived and walked around the house. There were lots of features of the old farm which saw a lot of amazing people over few centuries. At the same time, it has been equipped with all whatever you need for your stay. Jenny and her husband John are such wonderful hosts, were super helpful and available if we need to ask questions. They also helped to connect us with their fantastic neighbors who provided freshly grown vegetables, eggs, meat, and yogurts for us and our guests. We are already planning for another trip this fall.
