This home was likely glorious in its hey-day; there is quite a bit of deferred maintenance, but the views, beach and location definitely make up for what it lacks for the most part. A little less knick -knacks (Victorian wall decor) would be better (at least for us. It seemed cluttered. But it is large and lots of steps. Overall decent.

The was just the most eclectic, unique home. We loved the location and the home. Beds were super comfy, decor was delightful ☺️

A bunch of 50+ old guys on golf and relaxing on beach trip. Lots of bedrooms for everyone with plenty of bathrooms and almost everything you needed to make trip great. We cooked out twice and had plenty of utensils,etc. We have stayed their twice and will do it again next year.

This was a perfect location in the North Beach area of South Haven! Our kids loved having their own beach and there was so much room for the two families (of four) to enjoy. It is an old house but had a lot of character and was perfect for what we needed!

Our family had a wonderful long weekend at this home on the lake. The beach access was just what we needed and the sunset was perfect.

One of the best of a lifetime!

My daughter lives in Romeoville, Illinois and we were looking for a place not too far from her so she could travel back and forth. We found this lovely home steps away from the lake and fell in love with South Haven! The house is comfortable with many bedrooms for a large family. We were only a group of 5, but enjoyed spreading out and having plenty of space. The most wonderful aspect of this house is the incredible view and access to the lake right in front of you. We walked along the beach everyday! We will definitely be back! Marion, the owner, was always available to ask questions and checked on us during our stay.

This was the perfect place to stay for two families with toddlers! It was quaint, clean, spacious and had everything we needed! Because of covid we hardly left the property but that was not a problem. We spent most of our time down on the beach- we even rented a kayak and paddle board from a nearby place. The owner and property manager were both very friendly and quick to respond. I would definitely consider coming back again next year! Thanks

This no frills property had all the essentials - enough bedrooms for loads of family & friends, plenty of common space and all the necessities for a great beach vacation in a wonderful resort town. The owners were super responsive. It was easy, relaxing and fun.

Beach is just down the hill. Patio is nice and large. We enjoy the grills. Our family loves it.

We loved the cottage and Michigan

We stayed here with a big group of friends for a college reunion. We had a spread of young couples and young families, and there was something to do for everyone. Big, group eating areas, walkable to beach volleyball / ice cream, and right on the beach - it was fantastic. The house itself clearly has some history and charm, it was a pleasure to stay in. Plenty of places to sleep, and shower / baths worked out great.

This big, old house is not fancy and it is not air-conditioned. However, it is at the top of a sand dune that leads directly to a wide, spacious beach with shallow, clear Lake Michigan water, perfect for 3 toddlers and 8 adults. We easily parked our 4 cars, had sufficient space at the 2 picnic tables on the patio for everyone to be seated for meals, unless we were seated at the very long table inside. We appreciated the outdoor shower house with 2 showers for hosing off sandy swimmers, as well as 2 toilets., and, at night appreciated having 2 toilets and 1 bathtub/shower in the house. It was convenient to have the washer and dryer in the kitchen, and the clothes line outside for wet towels. On one rainy morning we did yoga in the living room, which is quite large, and, on another rainy day, the kids played on the enclosed porch in front. Because there is no dishwasher, we used disposable plates and plastic ware (not our habit), so we didn't miss it. We filled up the 2 refrigerators, especially after picking blueberries! Again, we were glad to have the space. Another wonderful convenience: we walked to two parks for the play/climbing/running around possibilities, to the draw bridge, into town for ice cream and coffee, to the harbor for a boat ride, to the museum for the fish boil on Saturday night. It was the perfect location with little people: we could easily return to the house for snacks, diaper changes, whatever we needed without having to drive anywhere. We had plenty of space on the beach. We watched the sunset from the patio each night that it wasn't raining and, because the house sits slightly above the beach, we had a spectacular view. This was really an ideal house for our family and we all had a great time in South Haven! Last, but not least, Marion is very responsive, easy to work with, kind, a grandma to several little people, accommodating.

just right for a vacation on Lake Michigan. Loved the dune and the quick access to the beach. Do not fix it up, we will not be able to afford it, thanks for how clean it was when we arrived.

This house is very ideally situated in South Haven giving very easy access to the town and restaurants as well as the beach. It the best of both worlds!! House can sleep an army! Beach is beautiful and easily accessed. We loved our stay here. Probably the only consideration is the stairs are steep and narrow which can be a challenge for older guests, but external access makes it a breeze. Great stay!

This South Haven property is in a great location. We walked to town and other activities. There is a private beach with access on a path from the back yard. There is no air conditioning so it can be rather warm inside, although fans are available. I would classify the house as quirky, with the furnishings showing wear. Our family had a great time and lots of fun memories. The size of the house allowed for games, TV, conversation, sleep, cooking (small kitchen) and wonderful views all at the same time. If we were to have another family time in South Haven we would want this property again.

We had a wonderful time during our stay here. This really is the perfect beach house. The location can't be beat and the house is very charming. The owners were also wonderful to work with--very kind and helpful. I would recommend this house to anyone interested in a getaway on Lake Michigan. We will certainly consider this place for our next stop in South Haven!
