This worked perfectly for the 6 of us (could have had more people). The location is very convenient to ocean, pool and hot tub. They also supplied equipment for the beach and had an outside shower. Outside seating areas were beautiful (first level patio and upper deck). Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of room in the kitchen for multiple cooks, great appliances. Plenty of bathrooms! Managers very responsive. Go for it!

Our daughter was getting married in Kauai and I immediately booked in Poipu as we have traveled to this island a few times and fell in love with this community! We had 8 adults and loved the location and the Hawaiian feel of this property. It had all the comforts of home and was well worth the value. I was a little concerned that there was no central AC but after that pacific breeze filled the whole home it was so much more wonderful than I could’ve imagined! The beaches were just a short walk away and loved the beauty of the community! I would book this property again!

The property exceeded our expectations. We were at home in this spacious 4 bedroom house and the location was awesome. We love to cook and the large island in the kitchen made of easy food preparation for our large gang. We were missing one key to allow us to use the bathrooms at the community pool but the manager arranged to drop off the key within an hour of our request. We couldn't ask for more.

We had a great week in Kauai staying at this lovely home. It had everything we needed, and the location is just right. It wasn't obvious from the listing that it's in a beautiful community. The path to the beaches is lovely. The snorkeling, hiking, sea turtles and seals on the beach, sightseeing, and relaxing were all wonderful.

My husband and I plus our two daughters, their husbands and one toddler grandson spent a week together in Poipu and this house helped make it a great experience. There was plenty of space for everyone with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The kitchen was outfitted well enough so that we could make most of our meals together. It is a wonderful location close to beaches and stores. We saw turtles and seals the very first day and were able to snorkel around to find fish. The house helped us have a very relaxing vacation.

We loved our stay at Hale Kai Kea. It was spacious and worked well for our group of 5 adults and 2 children. The children loved staying in the back room with the twin beds and appreciated having their own area for playing. The backyard hammock was well appreciated by all. We loved being able to walk to Poipu Beach Park, which was a great beach for the kiddos and for swimming and snorkeling, and also walking to Shipwreck which was a quieter and wilder beach that was close to excellent hiking. We appreciated having access to the pool and hot tub. We also appreciated having access to the beach supplies like the wagon, umbrella, boogie board and sand toys. The only downside was the lack of basic supplies like salt and pepper and dishwashing detergent. That being said, we reached out to the property manager and they were quick to respond and to provide those supplies. Overall a great family vacation and a great house!

Spacious, clean, comes with beach towels, chairs and umbrellas, bathrooms stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner, full washer and dryer, open kitchen with island, large table for eating and game nights. Management/owner responsive to a few very minor issues. No AC, but we were here in January, so it was okay without AC. Not sure if we’d stay here in the hotter summer months. Overall a great place and location.

The location of the home is amazing! Safe, quiet, access to beaches and beautiful walks or jogs. The home is spacious with 3 bedrooms and baths, plus a additional common area with 2 twin beds. A large deck to enjoy hanging out in the sun. The home is equipped with everything you need. It's an awesome community to enjoy your vacation!

We really enjoyed our week at Hale Kai Kea. The house is so beautiful and comfortable. We joined two other couples on our vacation, and each couple enjoyed a separate suite with our own bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with cookware and dishes, there are coolers and beach chairs available in the shed in back, and the outdoor grill was great to have as well. We also made good use of the large living room, two outdoor decks and lovely front porch. As for the location, it was within easy walking distance to Poipu Beach, where green turtles and monk seals are common sights, and the swimming and surfing are fantastic. Other nearby attractions include Makuawaki Cave, Secret Beach and the Allerton/McBryde Gardens. Highly recommend!

Property was beautiful, lots of room, very, very beautiful house. Beautiful patio and sundeck, furnished very nicely. No air-conditioning but fans helped. Dishwasher didn’t work, I don’t think the microwave did either, just needs a little updating with the appliances but other than that I would definitely recommend this place.

This place was perfect for our group of 8 adults. Adequate parking, kitchen amenities, and beds made our stay quite comfortable.
There is a trail that connects the house to the beaches. On our morning walks, our biggest decision was 'which way to turn', because both directions end up on gorgeous beaches.
Host was responsive, but we barely needed it because the house already provided everything we needed.
Will recommend for our next Poipu stay.

As we drove into the neighborhood, we were instantly in love! We had no idea it would feel like a friendly neighborhood street... on a cul de sac no less! The walking path to beaches (boogie boarding, wading, and snorkeling) was just outside the house, well-paved, and beautiful -perfect for the beach wagon full of chairs, boogie boards and sand toys provided at the house (!!).
The house itself has just been renovated and you can certainly tell. The carpets felt plush and clean, everything looked newly painted and repaired save a few minor things (window screen downstairs and a fridge that needs an extra push to close). The beds were super comfortable, as were the couches and patio furniture.
The layout worked so well for our families, keeping the children downstairs and the adults upstairs. We were worried about the lack of AC (which seems to be the standard on the island), but the house gets great cross-breeze (particularly in the upstairs bedrooms), and where there's not, plenty of fans are provided. The kitchen and living area are open and provide lots of space for corralling your stuff as you come indoors. The front porch is also a great place to drop sandy shoes, catch a breeze, or watch the rain from the safety of the covered seating.
Fun creatures for the kids OUTSIDE like lizards and snails, but no creepy crawlers inside that we saw. Also, shockingly few chickens in the immediate area! We had the rest of the island to enjoy their company :)

We had a great stay at this Poipu house. It was clean, comfortable and big enough to accommodate our family of 9. It's close to the beach and restaurants. The only downside, there is no AC and it got a bit hot trying to get ready for a wedding during mid-day. There were fans provided in each room.

Really enjoyed our stay at this house! Spacious inside. Worked well for our intergenerational family gathering. Walk-in shower and full bedroom on main level. Two bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom. Great usable outdoor spaces. Convenient location; three beaches less than a mile away with walking paths (beach gear and toys at the property were a big plus!) Community pool less than 0.5 miles away. Kristen and Jeremy were very responsive to our requests for a cot and additional floor fan. Would stay again on a future trip.

We had a lovely stay in this house for our large family holiday (grandparents and 2 families with small kids). This house is perfect for families with kids. Lots of space to spread out on a quiet cul de sac. The house comes well equipped including a high chair and lots of accessories for beach outings. The kitchen has more than sufficient items for making meals.
The pool is lovely, the walking trail is handy and takes you right to the best beach for littles with sea turtles right there! The property owners were vwry easy to work with.
I want to give 5 stars and would be happy to update my rating if they addressed a few maintenence items that I passed along via email. The garbage can in the kitchen was broken and was a nuisance. Some of the slats on the upstairs outdoor patio railing are broken and it's a safety hazard especially for our littles. The other items are minor and easily fixed.
The house does not have A/C however this was not an issue for us during our stay in Feb. With the windows open and fans on we slept pleasantly at night. It's warm but you are in Hawaii...
I would not hesitate to stay here again with my family or recommend it to friends.

This place is spacious with four large bedrooms and three full bathrooms which allowed for seven adults and a baby to stay comfortably together. It is a ten minute walk to Poipu beach one direction and ten minutes to Shipwreck beach the other direction. The community pool is nice with a large hot tub.

Windy and rainy week. But still better than the frozen Midwest. The positive attributes were: outstanding bedding, fast Wi-Fi; great grill, good communication with the hosts. There was minimal chicken noise- which is key for Kauai! Recommend you are fully aware of what you renting. The house is large! The location is close to Grand Hyatt and walkable to several beaches. However, the upkeep on the home really detracts from the positive. Between outlets that did not hold plugs, drains that did not drain, light switches that did not work and door screens did not even attempt to fit the door frame; and this doesn't include minimal dish ware (for the size of the venue)- we found the stay somewhat off-putting. Been to multiple VRBO sites on several islands and this was not up to standards consistent with others. I don't mind that the decor was dated, but several things just did not work (or work well). Of note, several sinks and showers are plumbed opposite, with hot water coming out incorrectly. No AC is an issue if muggy, especially since upstairs bedrooms can get stuffy during the day, even with the windows open. This was communicated with the hosts and they indicated a remodel is due in April 2023.

The house was in a lovely nieghborhoos where you could walk or take a short drive to beaches. The house was a good size for our party of seven adults. Beds seemed clean and had nice kitchen dishes. But otherwise the house was very dated and cleanliness, upkeep less than ideal. Living room was not thoroughly vacuumed (chips on rug), dining chair cushions were wet. A few dead bugs…. Paint was peeling on cabinets and wood work. . Property manager was responsive to complaints.

This property met our basic needs and the location was excellent. Close to several great beaches, eating establishments, etc. There are a couple of things that we feel need to be addressed by management:
The house and cabinets, etc. are in a state of disrepair. Paint is literally peeling from the cabinets in the kitchen, and there were existing stains on the carpet throughout the house.
Also, renters beware that there is no A/C. Nights were pretty miserable, despite having the windows open and the fans blowing.

We loved staying at this home in Poipu! The location was wonderful. We loved the walking paths. We felt like “locals” in the neighborhood. The house was huge! Everyone had their own space, which made for a peaceful family vacation. Our kids especially loved the back room, which they referred to as their “apartment”. And they liked the outdoor shower. The house hasn’t been updated, but it’s fine. And of course air conditioning would be a major plus, but a lot of houses in Hawaii lack a/c.

Great location! Easy walk along landscaped walking paths to beaches, restaurants and shops. We loved the cool breezes when lounging on the top deck. We had a minor issue when the dishwasher stopped working but it was remedied right away. Great response time from the management.

We had a great stay here with extended family. The greenway to the beaches was very convenient for a quick walk. There was plenty of room for everyone. The shed was very well stocked with anything you could want to bring to the beach.
