This was the perfect house for 4 couples! The house was clean, very well equipped and the perfect location- walking distance to the beach and downtown. Donna was very accessible and answered questions in a very timely manner. This was our second time renting this property and it will definitely not be our last.

This unit was really great for our family. Location is convenient to the north side beaches and the owner was responsive when we had questions. We had a great week!

Loved our stay! Home is well laid out for privacy with three bathrooms and basement (one with a tub for kiddos). Easy walk to smaller beaches and very short drive to North Beach - though you can walk it as it's 20 min or less. Loved being so close/walking distance to the Memories shop as it has lots of sundries (and ice cream by the scoop when it's crowded in town!). Donna's home is very comfortable with three different outdoor spaces we took advantage of. The large table indoors fit our group no problem. One of the most well-appointed rentals I've ever been to - everything from an abundant of silverware, plates, pots & pans to extras like salad spinner, plastic silverware, common spices, two coffee makers, blender & even an avocado saver! Nice grill, lots of books, games and the TV had plenty of channels and ways to access our streaming services. Wouldn't hesitate to rent again, one of our favorite stays.

A group of friends and I stayed here and enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Communication with the owner was clear and so easy. I highly recommend staying here!

Even better than the listing! We rented this property with 3 couples for a weekend of golf, pickleball and exploring south Haven. The house is beautiful, clean and comfortable and a short walk to the beach and to town. We are planning on making this an annual event and look forward to returning to the house!

We came to South Haven to celebrate a family birthday. Our group was made up of two grandparents, our adult daughter, our son and his wife and their two and a half year old. The layout of the house was perfect for us, as the downstairs is practically a separate apartment. The linens and towels were very good quality—-I always appreciate that. The house was very comfortable, had ample room for all of us, and Eleanor, who is currently being a dinosaur, could run around and roar to her heart’s content. The area is quiet, but close to everything. We all enjoyed our stay.

We are six adults, 5 of us over 60, who just finished a wonderful South Haven vacation and stay at Soha Summers. Since we are still in pandemic times, we cooked at the house almost every night. There is a great outdoor dining area and a gas grill that we made good use of. Other nights, we cooked in the well-equipped kitchen with gas stove and ate together at the dining table. SoHa Summers was a great place to spend time with family and friends, and it is well-located for a walk to the beach or to Phoenix Street.

We loved the home, was beautiful and everything worked wonderfully, was within walking distance which we loved, but also just a short drive if you wanted to take items to one of the larger beaches. The only thing we would have enjoyed while there was the use of a fire pit outside, but the grill was awesome.

Very pleasant week in South Haven for our family of 5, plus our dog. Short trip to the big beaches (2 minutes by car, 15 minute jog), and a short walk to the small beaches. Plenary of room for us to hang out and play games. Owner is very responsive. A great place to stay.

We had such a nice stay at Donna's house! We come to SoHa the same week every year for a family reunion and Donna's house really impressed us. It is beautifully updated, close to the beach, and the kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. We loved our stay and highly recommend this house to others traveling to SoHa.

We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home! We were celebrating a family birthday and had adults and teens. There was plenty of room for everyone to have there own space and the kids loved having the basement to themselves. The gathering areas were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was outstanding and very well equipped. Great location, quiet street, and a yard big enough to play yard games and sit and relax. Would highly recommend! Thanks, Donna!

The picture and all contact info for the house is incorrect. I was provided the wrong entry code at check in and when I tried to reach out to the owner I was directed to the previous owner who no longer owns the property. Luckily, the housekeeper had her number posted on the window and she got back to me after calling a couple of times and leaving a voicemail. Still a headache after making the drive from Chicago. Since none of the information has been updated for this listing I would highly recommend confirming the entry code and point of contact before arrival. Also, there is no soap or shampoo provided anywhere in the house which is annoying for a higher-end rental.

This property was perfect for our bridal shower getaway. The kitchen and exterior remodel was beautiful everyone complimented on how nice the house was. Perfect open layout with lots of room to gather. Bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen had everything you needed. Great location to walk or short drive to the water and downtown. This house was perfect for us. Best part was "Location". Donna's house is located in a quiet, cute neighborhood, walkable to town AND small beach. Oak Street beach was ok to watch sunsets, but too small to hang out; we spent most of our beach time at North Beach. The house has everything that you need and was very clean and comfortable. The living room has a large inviting sectional and comfy chairs where 10 adults could hang out and relax. That was really nice! Plenty of outdoor seating and a grill. Kitchen was appropriately equipped, as well. Overall, our stay was wonderful and Donna was very responsive and easy to work with. Thank you, Donna!

We loved the open floor plan of this home! The layout of the three bedrooms upstairs and the fourth downstairs was a great set-up for multiple families and the kids downstairs! The area felt private yet close to the beach and downtown!

We rented this house for a large family getaway (7 adults, 6 kids). We were able to comfortably fit all of us. Great beds, lots of pillows. Could have used with a couple more bath towels, but it worked out. The kids loved it- they were able to scooter around the driveway without speeding cards going by. Nice quiet neighborhood. 3 great beaches within a walk or couple minute drive. We had my father who has mobility issues in the house with us- nice flat floors without extra ledges, open furniture plan and only a few steps in and out of the house. Could have used a griddle (pancakes), colander (spaghetti) and a larger cookie sheet for feeding our large crew, but there were enough other pans in the house to function. Great rental, thanks for everything!

We loved the spacious bedrooms and easy to access bathrooms. We would consider renting it again.

The house was perfect for 7 moms who needed a weekend away!! The beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The outside was cute!

We liked the open main floor, with seating for our eight-adult group gatherings, for talk and for eating. Outdoor seating spaces and furniture, and landscaping/privacy are great. Kitchen well-equipped, and there are enough bathrooms...three. We used all of the lower level beds, and could have used a few more blankets. I missed fresh air on the lower level, as no windows open. Beds were comfortable, closets well-planned but needed more hangers for a group of women. Most needs were met so we'll consider returning for our annual retreat. Owners were very responsive, and we thank you for opening your home to us.

we had our entire family of 12 stay here without ever encountering any space issues. the pricing was great and the owner was very polite! just overall a very great experience.

We had a fantastic stay at Sheila's cottage. It is in a great location and an easy walk to the beach, downtown area, shops and restaurants, etc. Sheila provided many suggestions for places to go and things to do and was extremely responsive and quick in answering emails/texts with questions. We were also allowed into the cottage a little earlier than the 4 p.m. check in time. The cottage is the perfect size and the basement is like its own little apartment! We had a group of six adults and we had more than enough room. The cottage has all of the amenities that you might need for your home away from home. My only suggestion would be to put an outdoor light over the back patio/grill area for grilling/dining outside after dark. Or maybe there is one and we missed it?! Sheila and Paul have the perfect host home and they are kind enough to allow dogs! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend Sheila's cottage! We stayed at Shiela’s Dow's Rental for a week this August 2018 and had a lovely time there. It was one of the best-appointed rentals we have ever been to. The owners really thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable, from plenty of towels to decent pots and pans and serving dishes. The didn’t skimp on anything. There was plenty of gathering/entertaining space as well as places to get away and be by yourself. The covered porch on the side of the house seemed to be the most popular spot all week but the front steps under the blue awning was a great place to get away and read. Some of best features are the 3 bathrooms, minimal waiting to get ready after a day at Oak beach a short walk away. It is also on nice quiet residential street, good sleeping each night and the beds were comfortable as well. Like I said very thoughtful touches everywhere. The owners were very responsive with any questions and easy to work with. Highly recommend this location.

attractive and clean This is from Paul Brammeier, Arnold's brother. Very, very nice stay! Looking forward to next year! Two things that might be helpful: The main bathroom on the first floor; the stopper does not work! For one who shaves with a razor, it is challenging. Please, please get some 2 ply toilet paper. The one ply just does not cut it. One uses the one ply in great quantities and so the idea a saving money or rolls is defeated. Hope this helps! Blessings, Paul

Prior to arrival, Sheila was very responsive to my inquiries. Upon arrival unit was exactly as pictured. Kitchen was well equipped and plenty of linens for bathroom and kitchen. Open space in family room allowed all of us to gather and finished basement was a real bonus. Bedrooms were modestly furnished which allowed for lots of storage for our gear. Outdoor space was great. Seating to accomodate all 19 of us. 3 other families stayed elsewhere but we gathered here for dinners with kids having a great place to play. Close walk to the public bleach which did get crowded since it was so small but 2 other small beaches in close walkiing distance. Close to everything we needed. Well managed rental!

the house was very nice. we read all the reviews, and they were very accurate. we had 5 adults, and 2 small children. our original plan was to have 3 dogs also, which she welcomed, but we did not bring. trying not to be repetitive with the other review, here it goes. tv’s need updating and the cable is very basic. we weren't there to watch tv, but we did have some interest in football and the cubs. we had no problem watching what wasn't available on cable because the wifi allowed us watch on our iPads and phones. the closest beach was a little over 2 blocks. not much of a problem, but i am 70 and we had an exceptionally hot week. the beach front was small. but it was in the neighborhood. it was in-between 2 private beach fronts. we went there early before it got too hot, so we were the only ones there. it was almost like our own private beach. the house was in perfect condition when we got there at noon. and the electronic lock allowed us instant access. everything we needed was there, including 2 trays of ice cubes already made. enough dishes, glasses, and utensils for everyone. neighborhood was nice, quiet, and nice little porch area to sit out at night. the house was big enough for all our activities, and would have been more than adequate if we would have had to stay in if there had been any weather problems. the grill in the back yard was everything we needed for grilling and drinking outside at the house. we have been to south haven before, but we have mostly gone to saugatuck. so we spent some time there, taking the nice drive up the blue star highway. in south haven, we had some great light food and drinks, and pleasant conversation at the black river tavern. also had a great dinner a little out of town at the hawk’s nest at the golf course. e. minor problem was the downstairs where the kids were sleeping. because of the record breaking heat, the air was on most of the time. we didn't know how to control the temperate downstairs, so it got a little cool at night. all in all it was a great stay. no rush to check out. sheila was in contact with us from the initial booking to the end of our trip. we took a nice scenic long way back to illinois. the reviews were accurate, and we got exactly what we were looking for, and expecting. i would highly recommend a stay here.

Sheila's cottage worked very well for us- in a quiet residential neighborhood but within walking distance to the town and beach. A very clean home with all the kitchen and bath essentials to make for a comfortable stay. Being able to bring our pets along was an added bonus. We also appreciated the follow up from Sheila to make sure we were able to access the house (the electronic key pad was fantastic!). The TV channels are limited, but we weren't in SH to watch TV and the internet connection was excellent. A good stay!
