Beautiful view, balcony, nice country location overlooking the lake, reasonable distance from town for an overnight stay, nicely refreshed rooms

All was good

This is a lovely little hotel in the woods with surprisingly nice views of the nearby lake and woods. We shared a family room that was very comfortable for a family of 3. The hotel is very clean. The staff at reception do triple duty as baristas and bartenders in the lobby and were very thoughtful. Everything here is pretty peaceful and relaxing — and the interiors have been upgraded from the exterior. A La carte dinner was decent and breakfast buffet was good, if typical.

Our only real complaint was a large tour group that congregated in the lobby right next to our room where our child was sleeping after 10pm and onward for quite a while. We had ear plugs so it was ok but could’ve been very problematic with younger kids.

The room was at the end of the hallway away from others. They surprised us with a nice chocolate bar upon arrival. The breakfast was just fabulous in the morning.

Great Location, as you will stay in the forest (maybe good place to see the northern light) 15 minutes far to the town. perfect breakfast our room has a good lake view

The room was large, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

The gym and pool were closed. There was no safe in the room and not enough cupboards. We didn't get a room with a view to the lake.

Nice hotel and friendly staff

It was the best breakfast I've ever had in a motel. Also, we had a room facing the lake and it was beautiful with the fall colors.

The hot tube was not a warm as it should have been but was still nice.

The property is a bit far away from the ring road, so you have to drive extra Somehow none of our credit cards worked here, and we had to pay the entire amount in cash.

Hot tub wasn't open late.

We had a lake view room on the end (one shared wall). Very comfortable and clean. Forest location has many hiking trails nearby or can go berry picking (blueberries, raspberries, red currants). We chose dinner in the restaurant rather than the buffet and everything was great (especially the fresh sourdough bread). Breakfast buffet was extensive (hot food, cereals, breads, meat, cheese, fish & more). Full bar in the lobby.

It wasn’t loud enough to be disturbing but we could hear murmur of voices through the walls and snoring. We needed to do laundry which was possible only at a nearby campground. Front desk closes at midnight so no option for an Aurora wake-up call (it’s a thing some hotels in Alaska do so guests can see the Northern Lights).
