Esta granja alemana completamente restaurada fue construida en 1920 por Otto Schneider, dueño de la empresa local de envasado y embotellado. This was the perfect house for our annual family "girls trip" in Fredericksburg. The updates were wonderful, and we were impressed by the very nice downstairs master suite! The open floor plan allowed for easy conversation, and the kitchen, with the large island, was the perfect morning gathering spot! Great location within walking distance of main street. Would definitley recommend staying here! (Only drawback would be the steep stairs to the upper level ... a little tricky when carrying suitcases up ... but we managed without any issues)

The house was very clean and comfortable except for the upstairs temperature. When we arrived the temperature upstairs was 80 degrees. We attempted to lower the AC to cool it to comfortable temperature but it did not cool past 78 degrees, while one room had ni air blowing through the vent.
My party had to sleep on air mattresses on the floor when I had specifically chosen this home to accommodate my entire party.
The on call person was very responsive to getting an AC guy out but the upstairs never did get comfortable enough to sleep in the rooms upstairs.

We very much enjoyed our stay here! It was walking distance to Main Street which was great for our kids (14 & 11). The home was very clean and comfortable. It was also decorated for Christmas which I didn’t necessarily expect, but was wonderful. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a home In Fredericksburg.

We had a wonderful stay at Stonewell house. It’s a big house with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. We had our dog, and everything was provided in the house including crates, dog bowls, fenced yard etc. we did forget our poop bags and had to make a trip to HEB for them. A few extra bags in the house would be great, other than that everything was wonderful. Highly recommended!

We reserved this house with another family for the holiday parade weekend, and it was perfect! A bedroom for each couple and one for the kids. It was nicely appointed and we had everything we needed including snacks and dishes. Everything in the house worked, it was immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, would definitely stay here again. The upstairs bedrooms are on different sides of the stairs which allowed for some privacy from the kids which was nice. Highly recommend this lovely home!

Very nice, well-equipped home. We really enjoyed a quiet family stay there during the Christmas season. The decorated Christmas tree was nice. Nice gated back yard for our dog. and comfortable patio. Short walking distance to the main shopping and dining district. Thank you for sharing your home.

This was a High School Reunion get together. Some of us have not seen each other in 44 years!!!! We had a fantastic time! Stone Well House was even more appealing seeing it in person. We were all enticed by the exterior of the house. Once we got inside we loved all the furnishings! Bedding was great, beds very, very comfortable. The size of the house, very good for us 5. Location good, but somehow I thought we could walk into town, presuming there’d be a sidewalk. Walking in the morning was allright, but a bit more disconcerting at night w/ no sidewalk. Not a big deal, but you might want to let future guests know about this. Also, the many windows were fantastic, but I was uncomfortable walking around at night. Cars driving by can clearly see inside the home. Maybe some curtains are needed? I & my ole high school friends had a fantastic time. (Also loved the indoor well! )

Fredericksburg is one of our favorite Texas destinations. We have stayed in various Sunday Houses but the Stone Well will be the home we keep coming back to.
We loved everything about the home. It's spacious and clean, has great amenities and is in a charming old neighborhood a short walk from Main Street. Being able to bring our dogs made it extra special.

I would give The Stone Well Haus itself a "5" rating. It's a very nice, spacious house with updated baths & kitchen. Gasthaus Schmidt was very helpful at booking - but not responsive to the water all over the floor from the leaking refrigerator I informed them of upon our arrival. I went into the office the following day. Two days later the problem was still not addressed. They also didn't seem too interested in the list of items I left them concerning the home. They were nothing big, but could be if left unaddressed. So, I give The Stone Well Haus a 5, and Gasthaus Schmidt a 3.

The only thing that was bad was there was no internet the entire time and we could nit even get 4G internet. Made it difficult to work from there. Otherwise, we loved the house. Very comfortable.

This is our third year for our Fredericksburg family thanksgiving weekend tradition. This place was the absolute best! We will plan to stay here now each time! The house and all it's extras were top of the line! And the service we receive from Gaste Haus Schmidt is amazing. Each year we are able to check in hours before the actual check in time, which makes things so much easier for us!!! Thanks for a great house and great customer service!! Y'all make our family time so awesome!!

This is the 4th time I've stayed at this house with different groups of friends. The location is so convenient to walk to Main Street and the house is ideal for a group of 6
People. The beds are comfortable, the house is always clean and cute. I do wish there was more of an L shaped couch in the living room for hanging out and watching movies, as we always do that one night when we are there. The chairs are pretty small to get comfortable in. But overall, I would rent this place again!

The drawers in the bedroom dressers/chests needed a bit of cleaning before we could use them, but the majority of guests probably do not stay an entire week. The close location to Main Street was convenient, and we walked on most days that we explored nearby stores and museums. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would reserve the house again on a future trip!

This is the 4th time I've stayed at this house with different groups of friends. The location is so convenient to walk to Main Street and the house is ideal for a group of 6
People. The beds are comfortable, the house is always clean and cute. I do wish there was more of an L shaped couch in the living room for hanging out and watching movies, as we always do that one night when we are there. Perfect House for a Girls Getaway!

Cute, but too much fragrance
Cute property. I’m not sure it was worth what we paid for it but it we had a very nice stay once we aired it out a little. When we first showed up, the smell of overly fragranced cleaning products was so intense it was suffocating and started to give us both headaches. We opened the upstairs windows and turned on the fans and it was slightly better when we came back from dinner. At the end of 4 days, it still lingered but was tolerable. That being said, the house, kitchen, and bathrooms were very clean which I appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked with plates and glassware etc. The bed was comfy and I slept great. The patio outside was cute and would have been perfect if it wasn’t quite so windy in March. The patio would be excellent for a small group. Overall, I would stay there again, without the extra fragrance of course.

What a lovely home! There was plenty of room for all 3 of us to have a comfortable stay. It had everything we needed, and the location was convenient to everything we wanted to do. It was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Fredericksburg.
