We had a group of 8 adults and a 2 year old stay at the Gathering Place to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Our objective was to have a leisurely place to just hang out and visit the beach. It definitely needed to accommodate all of us comfortably. This lovely home met and exceeded our expectations. The house is located in a terrific spot to see the ocean and cross over to visit the beach. The house is very clean and comfortable. We slept soundly in the comfortable beds. The large kitchen table fit all of us for our meals and to play games. Since we were cooking all of our meals, we appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was. Often, you rent a place that has nothing to cook with. Not the Gathering Place! Cookware, utensils, and gadgets galore. Having a busy toddler, we were very thankful for the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Thank you, Doug, for a memorable, relaxing stay.

Our group was comprised of several women who love to spend time together, we meditate as a group on a regular basis. Our stay at the Gathering Place was simply spectacular in every sense of the word. Everything you could possibly want is available, beds and furniture are extremely comfortable and the place is spotless. There are lots of books, games, etc. for all ages. Cayucos is small and sweet beach community, we so loved our time there!

Wonderful location and perfectly provisioned. We had a group of 7 and had oodles of space for everyone. The beds are VERY comfortable and the property is immaculate. The only challenge for us was that Ubers were not available. If we came back to the area we would home to return to the Gathering Place.

We had 5 adults and 4 kids under 5, the baby gate ag the top of the stairs was much appreciated and the fenced in front yard was awesome. One of the few spots with a true ocean view! The town is just a few minutes walk, even closer is the Cass housewhere we attended a wedding. We would totally return to the gathering place it was perfect!

This house was absolutely amazing, very spacious and very well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. Perfect place for a family or girls trip.

We had a group of 11 adults stay for three nights and we cannot say enough about how wonderful The Gathering Place was. The kitchen was stocked with anything we would or could ever need. There were plenty of beds, towels, linens, showers, and bathrooms for everyone. The beach view was gorgeous and unobstructed from the balcony and the extra parking across the street was a bonus. A couple of things to remember to bring: extra TP, paper towels, and beach towels. Other than that, perfection. We are already planning a return trip. Thank you for the wonderful accommodations!

The Gathering Place is delightful and we all agreed we would definitely stay again. The home is decorated so nicely and everything was spotless. The kitchen has everything you could possibly want or need to cook meals. Location was great and we enjoyed walking to nearby restaurants for most of our meals. Disappointed that my pet deposit was not returned would be my only negative comment about this property.

Great accommodations, perfect location, and wonderful weather welcomed us to a delightful time with family and friends. We are already planning our next visit! We thank our host for being so responsive and accommodating! Perfect time and place!

This is a great property with lots of room, a stocked kitchen with dishes and pots and pans, bbq available and great views. The beach is close.

Had a great time staying at this house. Kitchen has a great layout and the bathrooms are well stocked with soaps and towels. The view is stunning and the restaurants and stores are so close to walk to. Best of all the beach is across the street. I recommend for a fun beach trip.

The Gathering Place is a very nice, comfortable house for families. Communication with owner was great! House had all of the amenities we needed and close to everything in Cayucos. Great for families with teenagers. Will book again!

This was our second time at the Gathering Place. We absolutely love the location, ocean view and walk ability. Park your car and enjoy the beach, ice cream shop and clam chowder all just across the street. Thanks Douglas for sharing your house. Johnson Family

Spend mother's day weekend with my children, siblings, their children, and our mother in Cayucos. This was my first time and we truly enjoyed our time in this beautiful small town. The home was lovely! So much space, the beds were so comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again! Our children ranged from 15 years old to 2 months old! My 15 year old enjoyed the pool table, comfy couches, watching tv, walking distance to the beach, and hanging out in the porch listening to music. Our toddlers also enjoyed the space with toys I brought. Enough space for a ball pit, pop-up tunnels to crawl through, blowing bubbles in the front yard, and bath time in the spacious tub! Such a great time!

This is a great house to stay at in Cayucos. The location is awesome with the beach so close and the downtown area just as close. The view of the ocean and pier is amazing, we already booked another stay.

We loved being able to share our time as a family in this very large comfortable home. Walk everywhere! Easy parking. We used the elliptical in the garage, the washer/ dryer, baby gate, pool table, TV, and the fully stocked kitchen. 4 bathrooms with one being in the garage for after beach activities. Highly recommend for a big family.Great communication with Doug the manager.

This trip was my Christmas gift to my children and their children. We had a wonderful time making memories!! We relaxed and enjoyed our time together ❤️

This is a beautiful beach home! The house is large and conveniently located at the far end of Cayucos near the stream. The beach access is under the bridge when accessible and the views are great of the pier and ocean. Across the street are the pier and skate ramps. The kids like being able to surf or skateboard without driving to those locations. Another plus, is that all restaurants and shops are in walking distance. The host is located in the unit across from this home. We only met him at check-in and he was very cordial and helpful. Other than that time, he gave us our privacy and I only contacted him with a question on the morning of check out. We really enjoyed our stay and my daughter booked again for us all in June! We all are looking forward to staying again at the Gathering Place!

Our stay at The Gathering Place was perfect for our family for so many reasons: having 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, stellar 2nd story views of the ocean, easy walking distance to the pier, downtown and the beach, large dining table and common area so we could spend a lot of group time together, and more. We had very stormy weather. But no one got cabin fever due to the layout of the home and the huge bay windows which allowed for viewing of wave activity rarely seen. Everyone from an 82 year old Papa to our 2 year old great-granddaughter had a wonderful time. We will return.

Rented over the Christmas holiday with extended family. The property is a great location to the trails, the beach and to trail. The house is a wonderful set up with a well stocked kitchen and plenty to do with games and a pool table. Doug was a wonderful host. Hope to return!

We absolutely loved the location of this property . Right across from the beach and you can walk out the front door and you’re on the main street in town. The house is large , bedrooms are nice . We liked that 2/4 of the bedrooms had a tv in them. The upstairs bedroom is really small but if it’s needed for sleeping arrangements , it’s doable . The owner seems very nice and easy to communicate with. We actually had a storm during our stay and the power went out. He dropped off some candles which was nice and called to communicate the time the power company anticipated it would come back on. The only 2 issues we had were 1) there were ants in the house . Mostly downstairs , in the bathrooms, on the floors and on the walls. 2) the property is called the “gathering” house so you figure it’s comfortable for a group to gather and relax . Except the couch was very old and broken. I would recommend upgrading some of the furnishings for a more comfortable experience.

This property is in a perfect location. A block from main street and restaurants, bars & shops. The beach is right across the street. The view of the ocean is a 15+. We had perfect weather. The owners were so nice. They live right across the shared driveway so wasn't sure what to expect. Unless we needed something, we never saw them. The kitchen was stocked with every pot, pan, dish, utensil possible. We would recommend this place and hope to go back again.
