There’s nothing to like about the property…the staff is bad except for the waiters
The location…the road to the property is gravel, which is about 30-45 minutes drive from the gate to the property and there are no clear signs, its easy to get lost
The food was bed except for the breakfast…the dinner was worse even my little one couldn’t stomach it

The welcome drink and cloth to refresh was a nice touch.
The sunset deck was a nice place to chill, see the sunset and get some network to make calls and catch up on some messages.
The service from the staff was awesome. They made us feel at home. They even planned a surprise birthday cake and singing on my husband's birthday.
The food was nice and homely.
You can only get network at certain spots and free wifi is not available in the rooms.
The shower water become cold mid shower on most days.

Nice little lodge in the middle of jungle. Staff was super friendly. Anya and Reese took great care of us. Every night the chef Nmbya cook amazing food for us keeping in mind that I am vegetarian.
We even saw Giraffes right outside our property. Antelopes were right outside our room.
Our guide and driver Sam was very friendly and soft spoken. He made our safari experience memorable.
Nothing at all. It was perfect.

It's a long dirt road to get there but in the end worth it.

The tub with windows looking to the bush. The high deck were you can see an awesome sunset.
Not enough light in the bathroom.

The house we stayed in was very large, with plenty of space. The food was lovely and we enjoyed eating with other guests round the roaring fire at the end of each day. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We also loved seeing the elephants and giraffes each evening as we came back to camp.
The constant loss of power, which I understand is due to load shedding, but it happens very often resulting in no air con, no electricity and therefore no power to even boil a kettle, and we were staying self catering.
The road into the camp is also very very bad. We were in a hire car and were not expecting it to be in such a bad state for so many miles!!! It is very dangerous driving in the dark.

The road leading to Thornhill is a mess, erosion from previous floods have not been repaired, it is extremely bumpy and and uneven.

Beautiful garden and nice swimming pool. We stayed in the lovely manor and saw monkeys and ostriches from our porch. The staff and manager were very helpful in organizing our tours. Breakfast was very tasty. And we even received a welcome cocktail.
It is good to know that you have to plan 25 minutes for the gravel road to Guernsey and within Guernsey.

Nice setting in bush
Left - did not stay…. facility under 3 star standard. Booking.com stated payment at lodge but they charged immediately after booking. Booked night drive to start 17.30 - they said night drive was from 21.00-22:00 but vehicle steering wheel was broken.

The location in a private game reserve is excellent. It feels like the wild is just a step outside your door. It is an authentic bush holiday. There are animals roaming near the lodge throughout the day. The staff were amazing and paid special attention to every detail. Special mention goes out to David, the bartender, who always provided the best service with a smile. The rooms were very clean and the facilities are fantastic. Thornhill exceeded our expectations.
There is unfortunately no wifi in the rooms, only in the main lounge/eating area.

We had a wonderful stay : the lodge was in a middle of a reserve where we saw a lot of animals. The staff was incredibly nice and the cook amazing ! The house itself was spacious and comfortable !
The pool was not open, too bad for the kids that wanted to enjoy it

.The accommodation, their bedrooms are spacious. Everyone has their private space. The perfect bush life that one needs for a holiday.
The manager, Nicolette, so amazing.
Nothing was disappointing.

We stayed in the 5 bedroom house, which is newly refurbished and provides with same standards as a luxury hotel. The house is very large, with equipped kitchen, 6 bathrooms, a living room, a garden and 2 terraces. Lodge staff super friendly and helpful, definitely one of our best stays in South Africa!
Only negative point was the lodge by is located within a private game reserve, and it takes quite some time from the main road to get there, through a gravel road which is drivable with any vehicle but more convenient with a 4WD.

Food, staff and the accommodation was top class. The place is very comfortable and quiet.
Loadshedding, it's a national crisis therefore it's understandable.
