The wifi was free and beds were comfy. The staff were helpful and the late check in was a super easy process that was explained well. The atmosphere was very social and there was live music entertainment.

There isn’t much to do in Gladstone. It wasn’t very clear who the staff were and we didn’t know where to go for help. The pool was half empty and not able to use.

Beautiful outside area, everything is nice and clean and the most amazing team!! Loved it!

The vibes were great, staff were super friendly and helpful. They also have a dog named Charlie which is cool. The bar on site is fairly priced and there was a live singer. They offer a home cooked meal at $15 which is amazing and also apparently do weekly trips out which seems amazing.

The noice from the air con outside shook our room and made a loud noise even when our air con was off, so hardly slept

The late/self- check in option was really easy to arrange

maintenance needed in some places - the were holes in the roof by the showers for instance. Also no aircon, although each bed had its own little fan.

Private room in a youth hostel

I was just there in the wrong time I guess whilst a group of youngsters were partying hard so I realised as a homebody couple , it was just not the best time for us to be there.

Well, the room is nice, toilet as well. They provide breakfast as well.

Some shower doesn't have hanger, so make sure before you take shower there's hanger in your shower. Also lounge area is a mess and smelly.

Stayed for two nights. The breakfast options of cereal and toast were good, good variety. It’s in a nice quiet area but not to far from the centre. Main areas, and bedrooms were very clean. Friendly staff. Overall good impression, would recommend and would stay again if ever passing through the area.

When booking a double private room, make sure you say you want air con, (especially this time of year) otherwise you have to pay extra. Although only $12. The guest fridge had some spillages at the bottom that, looked and smelt, like it hadn’t been cleaned, for a while. But otherwise a good place to stay.

Penny was an absolutely fantastic host. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable, the shower and toilets were fab and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great additions such as outdoor games.

The communal kitchen was quite unclean and some of the facilities are worn or under repair.

Super Friendly staff & very accommodating, cute dog/turtle/bearded dragon, perfect pool. Dinner was provided at a cost, which was very convenient after a long drive. They also have their own bar. Loved all the artwork around. Especially the toilet doors!

The veranda stairs were very very slippery and I wasnt aware of it and slipped down them and badly hurt my knee. In saying this, I am ok a few days later and Gladstone backpackers was the best place we stayed on our 4 day roadtrip!

It was walkable distance to town and the port for boats to Heron island

It was yucky, felt dirty, and the doors were thinner than paper. The showers opened directly onto the corridor, meaning you had little privacy. One even had just a flimsy curtain instead of frosted glass. The kitchen was smallish and had limited cooking equipment, and they wouldn't let you have a beer while cooking/eating unless you'd bought it from them, which isn't great for budget travellers.

Wi-fi upload speed is slow, nobody around for check in when arrived so took a little time to get access to our room

A great location , close to ferry for Heron Island. Fun for a large family group and really, really lovely manager and staff. Nothing was a problem.
