-Really responsive via WhatsApp
-Really sweet staff
-Beautiful location; 5 minute walk to town (bring a flashlight)
-Eco hostel!
-Private river access!
-Rooms were a bit hot if you didn't leave the fans on
-Not a big deal, but if you pay for breakfast, it's up on a hill 7 minutes up

lovely terrace and view, river to swim in, very well equipped kitchen and room, balcony, washing lines, all very well thought out, staff friendly, just out of the centre of town so nice and quiet
laundry was a bit expensive but nice to have

Location is perfect, only short walk from the town, next to a river and surrounded by lush gardens.
Unfortunately for the owner of Finca Bolivar, there is a hostel across the river which is organizing regularly (so we've heard) very loud and long parties, this means hardly sleep for any guests that stay at Casa Maracuya, this does not apply to the main property above. When we were there, it went on till 5h30 am in the morning (Saturday) while it was announced to stop at 2 am. Like sleeping next to a disco, horrible. You totally miss the point of being out in nature. However Casa Maracuya is still great, well located and has everything to provide a wonderful stay. So hopefully the neighbours close rather sooner than later.

We stayed in Casa Mango, private twin room. The facilities were so clean. We had a bathroom and shower to ourselves and practically a kitchen to ourselves. It was very well-equipped. The beds were comfortable and each bed had a fan. Short walk to town. Really quiet and peaceful place to sleep. Well-run Hostal.
The breakfast was a steep 10 min uphill walk.

Nice surroundings, daily cleaning
Very small room with 6 beds in dorm, one bathroom in the dorm room, with 6 people gets smelly, stuffy, and uncomfortable. Too many people to share only 1 bathroom. Small patio area to use with 10 people when the house is fully booked - need larger common area. There are 2 locations- Quinta is about 1/2 mile up a steep hill, and where breakfast is served. Maracuya is at the bottom of the hill. Need to walk up everyday to get breakfast when staying at Maracuya.

It’s close to Minca and you can access the river to swim in.
Not all the rooms are in the finca; the one we slept in was in an ugly building and also didn’t have the greenery scene around it. We were fine by it at first cause we thought we could still use the outside sitting area from the finca but the cleaning lady sent us away (when we were chilling in the hammocks and with no one there) with a weird story that it was forbidden for us. Felt super hostile and unwelcoming.

Serenity of the space with the sound of the river
Access to the river
Nice and equipped kitchen
Felt like we had our own flat with the terrace
Close to the center so you can easily go there walking
The breakfast is served uphill in the other part of the villa, you gotta earn the breakfast and you start your day by sweating a bit

This place is really close to the center of the town. At first it feels far away but the walk is actually between 5-8 minutes, even with a backpack on. I made the mistake of paying for a motorbike but it was raining and I wasn't sure how far away it was. The place has a very nice and well-equipped kitchen, although I didn't use it. They have FREE filtered water, which in Colombia is not very common, sadly. It also includes breakfast. A huge shout out to the lady cleaning there, she was the sweetest, more helpful and nice person in the whole place.
I booked this place because of the view, which it turned out is not where I stayed but in a property close by, about 15 minutes uphill, and there's a sign that says that if you want to see the view, you need to let them know in advance because they need to chain the dog. That was not very inviting, so I actually never saw the sunrise/sunset there. That was the same place where breakfast was served. I didn't like that a guest asked for a coffee refill (a tiny cup to begin with) and they wanted to charge him extra. And the room I stayed in (6 beds) is smaller than the pictures show, so when I first came in, I couldn't walk to my bed because all the bags from other guests were crammed in the center of the room. Also, the top beds did not have a shelf, or outlet or a fan, or a light, whilst the bottom ones did.

Fantastic location, staff were friendly and the owner was always reachable for any assistance or suggestions we needed.

This feels more like a cosy house than a hostel. Staff leave you to your own devices. If you connect with the right people, it's amazing. We had shared meals and taught each other dancing on the verandah. House is very clean (cleaned daily) and towels included! Beds are awesome! Very peaceful place to wake up and do yoga/meditation.

stunning location with friendly staff. the hostel is split either side of a road. I stayed on the side next to the river,
to get to reception you have to walk up quite a steep hill with everything you have, this could prove inconvenient to old or infirm guests. I would suggest moving reception to the camp by the river.
there isn’t much privacy in the dorms. other hostels I’ve stayed in have curtains around the beds which would improve that.

I loved the facilities, overall the place was cozy and private, everything was super clean and quiet, enough space for the amount of people. The kitchen has everything to cook, the fridge has space and storage boxes, and everything is labeled big +. The room where I stayed was big and the terrace was super cute, not much of a view but not a problem since I was mostly resting, which make the bed such an incredible comfort zone, I need to highlight that bed, amazing!! Also, a big comfort for the location is having hot water shower since the water in Minca is really cold. Loved that!
The common areas are very spacious, and the sunset view point... Speachless!
From my point of view, when we arrived we waited for a couple of minutes in the door even tho I annouced my arrival, and already talked in the phone for my reception, one of the workers opened the door but he was not the person who was going to receive us so, he wasn't sure to let us in then we waited a couple of minutes more until someone came to open the door and receive us. Also, I consider that the check in at 3 pm is too late considering the check out it's at 10 am. I'd suggest reducing this interval of time.

It was a super clean hostel, they cleaned the dorm rooms daily and gave you fresh bedding and towels.
It’s a 10-minute walk outside the town of Minca, it is uphill but this shouldn’t put you off, everywhere is uphill in Minca
This place had such a homely feel, everyone was so friendly. Also, Miguel sat us down on arrival and gave us some recommendations for what to do in Minca and was super welcoming.
You’ll find a well-equipped kitchen, the wifi works great, and they have lovely chill areas, even a BBQ. The showers were hot and amazing and they even had a hairdryer. You each get a spacious locker in the dorm rooms, the only niggle was there was no plug socket near my bed.
The highlight of this place is its sunset viewpoint, it’s well worth the climb, trust me. You also have access down to the river where you can cool off and swing around. Easily one of the best hostels we have stayed in over 6 months in Latin America, if your going to Minca stay here.

Nice room though a bit small with a terrace right next to a river in the woods 5 mins walk from downtown.
The rating is for the disturbance caused by the next door neighbor who played loud music 2 nights in a row past 1am and 3am on a Monday night. They stopped after I went and talked to them about how loud it was. it was so loud that instead of listening to the river going to sleep, I was kept awake by the loud music. The owner said this is not unusual on weekends but shouldn’t be a problem on weekdays. with this neighbor, it seems to be a problem every night.

The location was really pretty and quiet. The room was really nice and had a private bathroom. Easy to get in and out of the premises, but also felt secure.
Nothing really. The yoga instructor wasn't in town so the yoga wasn't happening :(

The hostel is very well located close to the center of Minca, it has a well-equipped kitchen, warm water (which isn't very common) and was well cleaned. The Argentinian guy checking us in was super nice and helpful, he gave us a lot of recommendations and even helped us with our luggage.
They have no water filter system and only sell plastic bottles. Most hostels in the area have filters and even give you filtered water for free. They told us they want to get a filter system, so hopefully that will happen soon. Also, they charge extra for card payment on the room, which may be common in Minca, but the other two hostels in Minca were we stayed at didn't do that (one charged card payment fees for food, but not the room and the other one didn't charge at all).

After 1 month in Colombia finally there was warm water, as one of the customer said "life changing experience"
There is a +5% if you pay with international credit card.

The host was great and the room was tidy and clean. Location just putside the main town was also nice. Just a 5 minute walk.
The only thing to point out is that the neighbors are really noisy. We stayed there suring the weekend and they played loud music throughout the day. Just remember earplugs and you will be fine!

Daniel couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming and we very much enjoyed our stay . Lovely with the big verandah and river rushing along below.
Things felt a little damp, but we were in the cloud forest in the rainy season

One of the best Hostels I have ever stayed at. Super friendly owner, private access to the river, beautiful viewpoint for sunsets, hot water shower and very close to Minca Town. I absolutely loved it!

Stay here in Minca town.
Great hostel, I can’t say enough. Nicolas (runs the place) and he goes above and beyond to explain and enjoy Minca.
Nice small social vibe too! Next to a river to take a plunge. Hot showers. Kitchen. Super clean.
I loved everything.

Totally fell in love with that little gem! It really feels rather like a beautiful home than a hostel. There is another new house near the sunset point. Loved that one even more! That view is priceless - ja no hang on: it has a price and it’s very affordable! The hostel manager ist the best! Attracts good people, too.

great facilities, location and extremely clean given its jungle location
noisy music coming from neighbours one night

Beautiful property just outside (5 mins walk) of Minca town.
it’s less like a hostel and more like a shared house.
Our private room was spacious and comfortable, alongside being spotlesssly clean and Gavin g very few mosquitoes in given the location.
There is an excellently maintained kitchen area we used to cook and a lovely terrrace pit the front with hammocks. .
The hostel has a social vibe but isn’t a party hostel which we liked.
The staff were great - Check in was seen less and whilst not always on site they were super fast to respond to messaages and helpful !
Wifi fast and hot showers!
One of the best!
Nothing that bothered us.
The only thing I could think of would be (Just as suggestions):
1. Mosquito nets in the rooms (There is a hook for one).
2. The stairs down to the property are a little slippy - Could consider installing a hand rail.

Nice and clean rooms
Well located
Nicola who manages the daily life of the hostel is amazing. He helped us a lot with the situation we had with the owner (see below)
The owner of the place made us live a nightmare as she tried to expel us from the hostel late in the evening of our second night! Before our arrival she committed in writing that laundry could be done in 24h - which was an important point for us as we were coming back from 7days trekking. When we asked for our clothes on the 2nd day she answered that they would not be ready until the day after (when we were supposed to leave). We politely complained about this. Things went out of control at this point: she called us yelling and asked us to leave the hotel because she could not bear with our “attitude”. It was on Saturday 13th August in the evening, where all hotels in Minca were already fully booked. If it were not for Nicola (the guy managing the place) who managed to convince her not to call the police to expel us, we would have been left alone in a tiny town in the jungle without any place to go. In a word, she would have put our safety at risk. This created a huge stress on us and let us feel very unsecured. Needless to say that we could not close our eyes at night, fearing she could show up with a revenge.
Minca is full of nice hostels, so please for your own safety don’t go to finca bolivar (which is not even a finca btw) - as at any moment the owner could decide to throw you out, possibly in the middle of the night, which is clearly not the kind of situation you want to end up in Colombia.
