The Villa was perfect. It is a little outside of the main town of Kalkan which was great and only a short (130TL) taxi ride into town. Taxi's are plentiful. It is walkable in about 20 minutes. There are local restaurants and shops within walking distance. The villa was immaculate with clean bedding and towels (shower and pool) that were changed halfway through out stay. Communications with both the owners and the property manager were seamless.

The villa is special and every part avails you of different views and senses. Light dapples the verdant growth around the lush fir tree by the kitchen verandah, there is a snug beside the pool, there are panoramic roof top vistas and breathtaking bedroom views, a cosy roof top room, and a welcoming, well provided for kitchen and two comfortable living spaces - wherever you go, you find benefit. The villa is exceptional and became our oasis and refuge. Sean and Morgan were the most gracious hosts and the Turkish management team that welcomed us, and checked the surroundings of the villa daily were highly efficient. As a safe haven, to relax, recuperate and be enchanted by the glories of the broad horizons, visible from the beds, as well as from the balconies, it is ideal and its pool, maintained daily, is also a great asset. Patara beach, about a ten minute drive away, is unspoilt, undeveloped and magnificent.

Kalkan is for the informed and understanding traveller. It bristles with culture, particularity and fascinating variations of the norm that intrigue. We had not known about the quantity of stray dogs present in Turkey. Their presence was often endearing, but at times, threatening and unpredictable, as they would lurch towards you, jump up at the car windows and chase after you. Extensive building works are everywhere. Many of the roads are dust bowls, precariously uneven and fearfully steep. Hotels and areas that looked amazing in the photos were in shockingly dilapidated or disturbed surroundings. We saw many the face of an arriving tourist in shock at where they were seeing. Such a contrast between expectation and actuality is a challenge. Bearing with it allows the tourist to begin to see beyond their first impressions and gain an appreciation of what is to be uniquely enjoyed. Also, despite the disarray described, there was a notable absence of litter and no graffiti, a welcome change from the U.K. People were friendly, honest and helpful and were not pushy. A hire car is essential, as the presence of so many stray dogs meant we were not confident leaving the villa except by car. However, beware. The uneven road surface caused damage to the car's undercarriage and on our return to the airport, on an unlit stretch of the main D400 just after the Gopek tunnel, the car struck a wild dog that ran from the bushes, caving in the car's front.

The villa is very well maintained and has stunning views. We arrived late at night (transport pre-arranged from the airport via the hosts)- it was helpful that the taxi driver knew where the keys were and gave these to us. It was very thoughtful of Sean and Morgan (hosts) to leave stuff for breakfast the next morning. The villa is in a quiet part of Kalkan. In the central busy area, there were a lot of shops as well as eating places and cafes. We also drove to Petara beach which was very relaxing. The swimming pool was closed though they opened it for us as the weather was a bit warm. The hosts were extremely helpful and the property manager sorted out so many little things for us which improved our experience a lot. Our rental car got punctured and they even helped out with that! We made some wonderful memories and will be back for sure. Thank you, Sean and Morgan (and the property managers). We would highly recommend this villa.

This villa is in a quite neighborhood at the edge of Kalkan. The rooms are clean, and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool is of a very decent size and is positioned in a way where it feels very private. The company managing the property was very responsive and helped whenever asked. But who am I kidding, the best thing about this villa is the fantastic view! It is laterally breathtaking.

As the villa is built on a small piece of land on a steep hill side there are a lot of stairs. Clever design, but still, if you cannot manage stairs it can be a hassle.
