The hotel was spotless, the rooms were comfortable; the pillows were out of this world! Great location; across the road from the pier and right on the sea front and a 5 minute walk from the centre. Hospitable staff who were always happy to help.
Genuinely, I don't understand the negative reviews as everything was great.

The bed was comfy to sleep on!
Noticed that on the wardrobe was a plug socket which the plastic to cover the wires actually was wobbly and could fall off and expose it and then the wardrobe was even stable enough!

Good location, right on the sea front.
Friendly welcome upon arrival. Lots of useful information provided by the hosts regarding places to eat etc.
Wine glasses and other items available to use from reception.
Two fans in our room as it was a very hot day - really helped and very much appreciated.
The 'corridor' or veranda at the front of our room actually prevented the room from being ridiculously hot.
Room was tired.
Bed wasn't overly comfortable.
Ours was supposed to be a sea view room but there's a 'corridor' in front of the window so you couldn't see much at all from inside. Too hot to sit in the corridor/veranda to admire the view.
Pricey considering the facilities.

The location was perfect and the bed was comfortable. The shower was lovely and warm.
The room was stuffy, too warm. The toilet didn't flush properly.

Genuine welcome at reception. I was given good ideas for an itinerary for my stay. My room and shower room were spotlessly clean and everything felt fresh.
It was very hot weather while I was there. To get to my room I had to walk through the veranda which had a great sea view but was sweltering.

no windows available in bedroom to open, there is a hallway out side bedroom which has massive glass and let’s sun in and the hall way must reach 60 degrees Celsius and if you open bedroom window it lets in all the hallway heat!

We were given a map on arrival of the local bars and restaurants. I thought that was a nice touch.
Not aloud to say anything or the owner will get on the phone and have a go at you.

Good location and staff were very helpful.
Was a little awkward when arriving later on as there is no lift and we had to take all luggage upstairs which was a pain without a lift. We heard noises through the night every so often like a boiler sound or something kicking in every so often. Thought we had a sea view but we didn’t it was at the back or the building which was okay for us as it was just for 1 night.

Great location and competitive price,
Basic facilities, lots of stairs around the building to get anywhere. It is not really a hotel, no food services available at all, local food facilities are nearby outside the hotel, no disabled parking. Many house rules, far too many in my experience, it was like war and peace to read all the emails and check in process is excessive. WiFi available however very weak.

Really friendly welcome with lots of local information. Pointed out eateries and local attractions. The twin room was very well laid out with lovely beds, good bathroom and a smart TV. It was spotlessly clean.

Stayed before so nice to see the building has had a make over and although in the economy room really liked the little lounge area adjacent. Warm welcome and really helpful. Nice that we could access our netflix via the TV.

the double bed was broken upon arrival meaning we had to sleep apart for the 2 nights we were there.

Very good location , however I was allocated a budget room at the back of the hotel ...dark and bleak!
I didnt know that by booking through the the application I was booking a budget room, the description I would give it is Bleak! My room was at the rear of the property and dark , however the hotel is right on the seafront with excellent views.
I had to get the bathroom floor mopped , it was just a bit sticky
I suggest that the staff should let visitors know that if they have been allocated a budget room and allow them to upgrade to something reasonable.
