Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. Everyone when above and beyond.
Everything was perfect
6.0 / 10.0
The room was cosy and the hotel as well, more like a boutique hotel. Food was ok. I disliked the fact that there were absolutely no drinks free of charge available during lunch and dinner for half board bookings. And even if you ordered any, they weere extremly poor quality. The beach is in front of the hotel but small and with rocks. You as an adult, cannot swim nearshore but it was ok for babies to go inside, since a huge rock forms like a barrier nearshore and it is not deeper that the knees. Overall experience was ok and good location for travelling and having mobility to travel from location.

What I liked about the accommodation was that the staff were very nice and had fast service in the restaurant. There was both a pool and close to the sea and it was a very nice and lovely environment.
What I didn't like was that the soda and juice served tasted very bad. It was ready soda in machines and not in regular cocoa cola bottles. It tasted very much of chemicals. The only place that served good soft drinks was inside the Main restaurant.

The room spacious with fantastic views over the sea , gardens and pool area.
Breakfast was awesome with plenty of choices and so was lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful and the whole hotel looked grand and very clean with plenty of facilities to keep you occupied.
Wi-Fi poor and didn’t feel like the air conditioning was powerful.

Rethymno Palace quickly started feeling like a second home to us during our 11-day stay. It’s only a 10-minute taxi ride to Rethymno Old Town and there’s a bus stop about a block away from the hotel. The street the hotel is on is bustling with souvenir shops, cafes, and small grocery stores, which means you can find anything you need nearby without travelling far from the hotel. All of the staff members in the hotel and restaurant were very welcoming, helpful, and cheerful (not a frown or bitter look in sight). Everything that you see in the images is precisely what you get. Housecleaning visited our room every other day and the hotel in general was always sparkling (never dust or dirt in sight). We also appreciated the round-the-clock security on the premises, although it was a shame that pool and beach access were prohibited after dark. There was a new dinner theme/cuisine every day which meant there was a constant variety of delicious food (for example, they had seafood night, Asian night, greek food night…etc). On the other hand, the breakfast spread was pretty much the same every day. Despite that, everything was mouthwatering and there still was variety. Access to a private beachfront along with the beach bar was the selling point of the hotel. It’s certainly an amenity that not all hotels offer since you can go from your hotel room to the beach in minutes without paying an entrance fee every time. Overall, we had a pleasant vacation and experience and would recommend anyone to stay there since it was a lovely getaway.
We only experienced a few minor cons.
Our primary concern was this weird policy with the drinks in the cafeteria/main eating area. There was a major priority given to all-inclusive guests versus half-board guests which was quite strange. In a buffet-style space, there were drink dispensers along with coffee and tea set out, but if you weren’t an all-inclusive guest you had to pay for said drinks like water, coffee, and tea. Technically, you could blend right in and go grab the drinks because no one was really keeping track most of the time (we didn’t find this out until our last day there!) For example, water was free during breakfast but paid during dinner — overall an unnecessary mishap regarding a very small matter. We think they just need to make those basic drinks free for all and only limit free alcohol to all-inclusive guests.
And lastly, on the peak days of the hotel, guests were reserving sunbeds as early as 7 in the morning with their towels and they kept them there all day. So if you wanted to go to the pool at around noon or so, you’d have to settle for any sunbed that was left in the back. There usually never was a free sunbed by the beach either until sunset. It would be great if the hotel could find a way to regulate this or assign sunbeds to each room.

We spent 11 days here in August. The location is excelent, nice walk otside the hotel, street full of restaurants and shops with souvenirs. Also close to Rethymno city - must see.
The hotel room was fine - big enough, always clean. The meal was very good, fresh and tasty. Only the bar with vegetble was very pure. All inclusive drinks are ok.
The swimming pool is nice and clean, but we prefer sea.
The beach is right by the hotel, what is very comfortable.
Beach is very narrow, no sand, just stones, the same in the water. The access to sea is very painful so, better to have shoes. The number of seats there is very very limited, absolutely not reflecting the number of hotel guests! There is every early morning fight to get the seats! The walk on the beach is due to stones very unconfortable.
Across the whole hotel watch your steps! The stairs or various steps on the floor are everywhere! Very dangerous around the pool.
What I don't like on the Greece in general now, they provide accomodation to Russians, and they are many there. Sorry, but Russia is agresor and I don't wanna spend my vacation next to them.

Very clean and well maintained place. Nice music in beach bar.
Good variety in the kitchen but all a bit overcooked and without herbs. A bit old-fashioned cooking.

room and hotel overall was clean, staff has VERY helpful all the time.
1. SMELL IN THE ROOM -> We stayed in room 454 (PLEASE AVOID IT) which was a room on the top floor so the roof was just above and all the cooking smells from the kitchen which was below us were directly coming in our room, I don't understand why but oh my god it was HORRIBLE, we had to leave the windows open all the time and then spent time into killing mosquitos before we went to bed.
2. bar -> the drinks included in the all-inclusive package are HORRIBLE, literally HORRIBLE
3. beach -> well, this is not the hotel's fault but the beach is rocky and ugly
4. food -> 4 of our friends had food poison, one of them had actually severe poison. Besides that, the food is far from good quality, it's only about volume, not quality.
5. kids pool -> dirty, don't recommend and NO SHADOW. I mean it's a kids pool, put a damn umbrella there
Overall, this was a big disappointment, they focus on the volume but not on the quality of products.

Very nice location right on the beach.
Loungebar with oceanview were nice and calm.
You could find peace and quiet in the evening if you wanted, except for friday night where there were a disco-party at the loungebar.
Nice and varied local food in the buffet restaurant.
Hard to ventilate the bathroom after taking a shower.
Something about the material of the beds made the nights very hot.

Beautiful place right off the beach and great food! Offers a lot - gym, ping pong, 3 pools, balconies, live entertainment, and is also all inclusive. Staff are wonderful! Place very clean, large, and absolutely wonderful. Small shop downstairs offers all types of souvenirs, swim wear, snack foods and jewellery. The staff working there are very lovely. Across the street are 2 super markets with very lovely staff as well. There is also a quaint restaurant right across the street if you want to try something new. Easy to catch the bus downtown. You purchase bus tickets at the shop downstairs for 1.20 euros each way. You can book tours right at the front desk for reasonable prices. Highly recommend and would stay there again!

Exceptional rooms. Spotless clean and newly refurbished (3rd floor)
Good variety to choose for breakfast and dinner!
Morning cleaning could be done and a more quitter manner by the staff. The staff cleaning the vacant rooms, starting at 7.30 am and they were very noisy on the corridors. No concept of keeping the noise down as guests might like staying in bed more time rather then having to wake up at 7.30 am. Spoke to the hotel manager and the problem was sorted.
Other then that no problems at all whatsoever.

Staff were very helpful and friendly
Food labelling was poor. Quite often dish contained beef but not labelled as such
Not enough Greek cuisine is served.
Swimming pool temp was TOO cold

It was beautiful, very new and comfortable. Pool was great. The location was great also because it was close to very delicious tavernas and nice bars and it was 20 minutes by car from Rethymno, which is a great place to visit.
The beach wasn’t sandy but that was fine because the pool was very nice and going in the sea was fine with aqua shoes.
The cleaning service was not perfect because the staff reached our room at 5pm and we were resting at that time and we already took a shower with the old towels. The problem was ghat we asked at the reception that they started cleaning our rooms earlier in the day, and the receptionists gave those instructions to the cleaning staff but they did not bother to follow them.
But this was not too big of a problem and everything was otherwise perfect!
