Great location with beautiful views of the countryside. Fantastic pub just down the street aways. The place is spacious. There are no laundry facilities with this cottage. The beds are slightly uncomfortable, and one of the showers was not working very well.

If you like upside down living that's a start I found the decor and furniture in need of a tidy up the windows wouldn't stay open so had to be wedged open also the barbecue was all rusty I think this accommodation needs an overhaul oh and dont expect a good internet connection, to sume up would I stay here again I'm sorry to say NO .

The location of this barn is so easy. Very short drive into Asbourne and surrounding villages and towns. But walk out your door and the Tissington Trail is across the field and you are in the middle of beautiful countryside. The barn is clean and had everything we needed for our stay. This was our 2nd visit and we would certainly stay again.

Swallow cottage was perfect for our stay for a wedding at Tissington Hall. Lovely and close to both Tissington and Ashbourne. Jackie was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival and the cottage had everything we required for our two night stay.

We had a lovely stay at swallow cottage. We're a family of 2 adults and 3 children and used the cottage as a base for our trip to Alton towers. The property was about 15 minutes drive to the theme park. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There is a lovely garden area also. Thanks for a great stay.

Excellent place for family holiday and not far from local attractions such as Alton towers and walking places although we did not have time to walk as we spent most of the times in Alton towers. Nice kitchen with all white goods available except waching machine. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms including 1 ensuite. Very nice spacious garden outside with BBQ facility with plenty of chairs and table along with small swing. Landlord is very nice and we had a very warm welcome.
The only minor thing is mattresses upstairs are not very comfortable and also struggled to find the place using post code.

Ideally placed cottage.
Jackie, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was comfortable , well equipped and ideally placed for exploring the locality. We much appreciated the wine and chocolate which helped us to relax after an arduous journey in the heat of summer.

Weekend at Alton Towers
Communication with Jackie prior to our visit was very good, we arrived a little early and there was no problem checking in, the welcome chocolate and wine was a pleasant surprise.
The cottage was really well equipped, plenty of hot water, linen and towels.
Jackie gave us some great recommendations on the local area.
We traveled as a family of 5 with 2 teenagers, as such they were not impressed with the Wi-Fi however for the time we were in the cottage it was sufficient for our needs.
A really lovely place to stay and we would have liked to have stayed a little longer to see the surrounding area and not just the theme park.
The drive to Alton Towers was only 20 minutes away.

Pleasant cottage in a beautiful area
Nice little cottage with a rustic feel in a great position for exploring the Peak District. It sleeps 6 and was fine for our party of 4 adults, a 3 year old and a baby, but the living areas might be a bit cramped for 6 adults. The kitchen and sitting room are on the first floor with the stairs opening directly into the kitchen. The first floor is light and has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside from the windows of the living area and the upstairs bedroom. The other two bedrooms and the bath- and shower- rooms are on the ground floor.
The furniture and appliances could perhaps do with being updated (we cooked and ate in most of the time and found the oven particularly frustrating as it took so long to reach the right temperature). However, on the plus side, everything we needed was there and there was plenty of hot water.
Outside there is a pleasant grassy area shared with the adjoining cottages, although this is only separated from the lane by a low wall and no gate. There isn't much traffic along the lane but such cars as do use it often came by quite fast. The cottage is within walking distance of the Tissington Trail and is close to Ashbourne and Dovedale and many other scenic spots.
The host Jackie is very welcoming and helpful.
We had a very enjoyable stay.

Lovely couple of days away. Jackie was very helpful. You can Walkington Ashbourne on the trail but it is a good 50 minutes.

Early May getaway
We had a lovely stay. The cottage is well placed for accessing the dales and Ashbourne is a quaint market town. It was useful to get the advice on the alternative drive as it cut out a particularly nasty corner. We would be happy to stay again

Lovely barn conversion stay
We had a great short break. The cottage had everything we needed. Jackie was very friendly and gave us some tips on places to go and things to do. We enjoyed a walk in Dovedale, a day at Alton Towers and lots of meals in country pubs nearby. We loved the wine and chocolate to welcome us too. Thank you

A perfect place located near alton towers
Jackie, the owner was very helpful. A few bits of the property could do with upgrading or updating but this didn’t have a great impact on our 2 night stay

Family Short Break
We were due to stay during October half term when our one year old suddenly fell ill and had to be hospitalized. Jackie was absolutely wonderful, both in communicating with us during what was a stressful time and also in understanding our last minute need to cancel. She also very graciously allowed us to re-book for a different date and we are very much looking forward to staying in February this year.

Good barn conversion
Good barn conversion in the beautiful Peak district - within walking distance of Tissington Trail and Ashbourne. Comfortable accommodation and warm welcome from hosts. Disappointed with no washing machine and negligible Wi-Fi.

A wonderful short break!
This was a last minute booking and under the circumstances was dealt with very efficiently. Jackie was quick to respond to our enquiry. The cottage had the most beautiful views and was well-equipped. It was extremely handy for the Tissington Trail and a short drive to Dovedale (I'm sure, during summer, it would be walkable but the mud got the better of us!)

Swallow Cottage
This is a fantastic cottage with easy access to the Peak District. Lots of lovely walks straight from the door.
Jackie is a great host and nothing was too much trouble. She made us feel very welcome.
The cottage is very well appointed, we had family round for a BBQ and there was enough crockery, cutlery and glassware (with spare) for 15 of us!
Thank you Jackie, we had a great week and I’m sure we will be back!

GOOD PLACE
It was a very good place, very comfortable. Very well restored and a lot of effort has been put. There are a lot of amenities in this house, which is very good. The house was a bit cold, probably because it is very old and took a long time to heat up. Excellent location, away from the bustle and hustle of city life. Jacquie was abrupt and rude to me when I was putting the garbage into the bins, she was shouty. Plus, she seemed to be annoyed when I asked her to provide some extra toilet rolls, her excuse was '' in S/C accommodation , this should not be the case ''. That woman needs to have some lessons on customer services. Certainly Fiona will come and stay again, however I will not do so, because of her. She did not even ring the bell to tell me that the toilet rolls were there, she just helped herself by opening the door, well it could be a thief may be?. I did not like her because of that behaviour and I do not care what she thinks of me personally Perry

Beautiful location
Communication with the property prior to our stay was easy and check in was simple. The manager came over when we arrived and was very helpful and informative. The barn was perfect for our needs and a good size for a family of 4. It was very clean. The barn is out in the countryside with walking outside the front door but also only a very short drive into Ashbourne for shops, pubs and supermarkets. I'd certainly stay again if I'm in the area another time.

Very comfortable cottage in great location for the Derbyshire Dales
Swallow Cottage was ideal for a week's escape to the Peak District - quiet, clean, spacious and with everything we needed. Close to Ashbourne for shops, close to Dovedale and a host of much more deserted places for walks, and with the Tissington Trail accessible with just 5 minute walk on a footpath from the property. An easy drive from Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth, the Blue John Mine, Cromford Mills, etc., all of which were well worth a visit. Thanks, Jackie, for being so welcoming and helpful.

Lovely stay in peaceful country property
Spent a great week in this property which was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Jackie was very helpful and replied quickly to messages. Would definitely stay here again as the location is so peaceful and there is lots left for us to see and do in the surrounding area.

Lovely cottage in fantastic location
We had a wonderful week staying in the cottage. The location is perfect - Thorpe Cloud and Dove Dale, Ilam and Thor’s Cave/Manifold valley were highlights. The Bentley Brook Inn across the valley is worth a visit and a nice walk across the fields and Tissington Trail. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and Jackie made us extremely welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely Cottage
We spent a few days during half term with our boys in this lovely cottage. We enjoyed the beauty of the Peak District and had some wonderful days out despite Storm Dennis. It was great to come back to the Cottage to get warm and dry.
