The location was great. Just steps from the gates of Manuel Antonio national park. It’s also just a short walk to the beach (less than 5 mins). The free breakfast offered several full meal options. Most of all, the service was phenomenal. The owner communicated personally every day and was helpful in getting laundry done and helping to book tours. He went above and beyond expectations each day. Oh, and the pool was clean and refreshing too.

Traffic on the streets around the hotel was tight so driving there wasn’t fun but once there, I did not need my car. Parking was also tight, on a narrow side street, and I had a bigger car. It would be no problem with a smaller car.

The host was very welcoming and helped us to get a tour, free breakfast, and gave us a quick tour around whats in the area with opening times. Working AC and warm shower. The staff and night guard were friendly. Our kids loved the pool despite the broken slide. When travelling with a tight budget, this is a great place to stay 1-2 nights to visit the park. Also, an easily walkable distance to the beautiful beach.

The cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel is somewhat frustrating. The area around the park entrance gets very busy starting from 7. Kitchen and bathroom cleanliness did not fulfill our expectations. "Permanent dirt" in the toilet could easily be cleaned with a brush and decalcifier. We would not recommend to stay there for more than 2-3 nights, the restaurant options in the area were not convincing for their asking prices.

Close to markets and stores Staff really helpful and informative, giving a good allrounder of the region

Wi-fi was a bit weak, struggled at times to send e-mails with heavier attachments (had to work a bit over the weekend) Power would go down for short intervals during rainstorms.

Highly recommend.☺️☺️ The owner is such a great person. This hotel is behind Manuel Antonio Park 2min walking to the entrance. So many good restaurants near. The hotel has a nice swimming pool (warm water), you could see a lot of different birds on this area. Public beach is 5min walking.

The hotel is right at the park entrance. We got a room upgrade :) all was really good. We even got breakfast vouchers at a restaurant nearby. The parking place is a little tight but we didn't have any problems. The host was kind and accommodating. Do not forget to book at least one day in advance for the park( online).

The hotel is very clean and is located close to the beach area and a few steps from Manuel Antonio National Park. The staff is very friendly and always available to help with everything you need to have a very nice stay. I totally recommend it!

We really liked the Hotel Villa Prats in Manuel Antonio and had a great 3 night stay here. We got a room upgrade on arrival to a room with a balcony. The room was large, had a double bed and a single bed and our double bed was very comfortable. In addition, the room had a fridge, a counter with two stools, a wardrobe, fans and air conditioning. There was also a sofa, but it was very soft. The balcony was relatively large and there was a bench to sit on with a view of the pool and Manuel Antonio National Park behind it. The bathroom was also fine for us and clean. The furnishings were not modern, but functional and absolutely okay for our purposes, so we felt comfortable. There is a fairly large pool in the courtyard with loungers and a shower to rinse off in. Since we spent our time either at the beach or in the national park, we didn't use it. There is some parking in front of the hotel. The internet always worked well for us. We twice got a free breakfast in the restaurant diagonally opposite, which was very tasty and you could choose what you wanted to eat (e.g. fruit plate, omelette or scrambled eggs). Only on Tuesday there was no breakfast, because the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays as well as the Manuel Antonio National Park and some other restaurants. The location was ideal for us. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Playa Espadilla beach and only a few steps from the National Park. Since we wanted to use both, it was perfect for us. You could walk to the beach in the morning, then back to the hotel and a short walk back to the beach for sunset. Here we were very flexible and very happy with it. The host was super friendly and helpful. On the last day, we were also allowed to do a late check out. That was great because we could spend a few more hours on the beach. We can highly recommend this hotel.

The location could not be better. You can throw a stone and hit the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park. In addition, Espadilla Beach is a 5 min walk where a number of good restaurants can be found. Ike, the manager was very helpful, friendly and accommodating to any requests or questions we had. We chose to walk to everything and left our car parked for the entire 3 day stay which was also nice. A very good breakfast is provided by a little restaurant which is a two minute walk away.

We can't think of anything that disappointed us personally. The parking can be a little limited so if you have a larger vehicle discuss it with management when making a reservation.

The location is perfect, very close to Manuel Antonio National Park and the beach. The room was big and the complementary breakfast and the nearby restaurants was a very pleasant surprise! The owner was friendly and the cleaning done everyday was impeccable.

The furniture and interior decor might need renovation as they look pretty old, hooks for hanging clothes and a bigger mirror would also be a plus.

Oscar, the owner of the property, was a wealth of local information. Himself and his staff made us feel so at home and comfortable. Location is perfect...the park is right around the corner and the beach is just down a small pathway. Oscar set up complimentary breakfast for us each morning at various restaurants. Each restaurant provided the typical breakfast which was definitely delicious and a healthy sized meal for you to be fueled for your day. Our room had a refrigerator but some of the rooms have full kitchens. Laundry was complimentary also. AC worked awesome as well. One morning we got to hang with a group of white faced monkeys that were very close to our terrace. The pool was refreshing and clean, the slide is broken but did not deter us from enjoying a dip between trips to the park and beach. The courtyard is beautiful and my husband and I both enjoyed sitting outside our room reading in the peace of the courtyard area while it rained. We would definitely stay here again and really appreciated Oscar and his staff member and how peaceful and comfortable Villa Prats was for us.

The equipment is very basic and a little too old.

The owner and staff are very attentive and the location is in the heart of everything. Beach is within walking distance and the national park is right around the corner. Restaurants, bars, souvenirs, supermarket are all within walking distance so you would need a car to get around the area.

Well to make it simple, the bottom line really is would you do it again? And the answer for us is yes we would.

It was slightly run down but very clean.

Oscar and Aytofe were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is nice, the rooms are clean and the facilities provided wifi, pool, breakfast, ac, laundry etc.. are all very good. This is an excellent location for the beach and there are quite a few places to eat nearby.

Oscar, the owner, made us feel very comfortable and looked after us with the smallest detail. We even had cooking facilities in the room. He and his staff looked after us like a family. He watched out for our car while we went to the park, as I forgot to lock it! Many thanks to them Free breakfast next door, 5 min walk to the beach and 3 min walk to the NP (which you have to book in advance on the website).

The hotel has a great location next to the national park. In the neighborhood you can find a great but not expensive restaurant. By the way the breakfast is served here too. The road front of the hotel leads to the beach, it is about 50m walk. On the way to the beach we saw squirell monkeys. The hotel provided for us free parking place which is a huge advantage. The owner, the staff were very kind and helpful.

The traffic is very heavy at the national park but the people help to navigate among the market stalls.

This is the ideal location for visiting the park and we would definitely stay here again if we ever come back. You are right at the park entrance gate, and the hotel is on a trail/one lane gravel road basically without cars that goes straight to the beach a short walk away. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were awesome. The wifi and air conditioning worked great also. My kids enjoyed the pool. Great value too, all in all was perfect for us.

I have no complaints

The staff was amazing, they consistently went above and beyond to help us. They provided us beach towels when we didn't have them, and the owner even drove to Quepos to get us bus tickets back to San José. The room was clean and had everything we needed, we were very happy to have a balcony and we wouldn't have survived without the AC. In general a quiet location, except for the mornings when the howler monkeys felt the need to defend their territory. Not much the hotel can do about that though, and gives you the air of being in nature :) Location was really amazing, just a short walk to the beach and to the park. There are plenty of places to eat around as well, and although it's a touristy area the prices were not bad (check out Costa Linda and the restaurant next door, El Chante). We had several encounters with wildlife just outside of the hotel, probably due to its proximity to the park -- capuchin monkeys, iguanas, tree frogs, and even a sloth near the road to the park!

There was some random stuff in the entry way, but it didn't really bother us.

Had a nice stay at Villa Prats. It's tucked away in the middle of the MANP hustle and bustle, and is a nice step away from the busy-ness without being far from the beach, restaurants and shops. Aiton and Oscar were kind, helpful and accommodating. Felt very secure even traveling alone. Wifi was just fine in my room to be able to do quite a bit of work. Reliable. Lovely courtyard with all kinds of plants, and the pool was great.

No downsides really. Things were just right for the value! Some things that could be improved are the curtains in the room, as they just baaaarely cover all the windows. A bedside light would also be a bonus!
