We had a good trip. We couldn’t get the toaster to work and the kitchen seemed a little light on moving bowls And Saran Wrap. The downstairs water pressure in the sink is low. Thanks for a great stay!

The house was perfect for my family. Everything was comfortable, clean, and super cozy! The convenience of being able to walk to the hospital to visit a family member was wonderful and a huge stress relief. The walk/run/bike path that runs behind the property and along the river was amazing. Absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

The home was comfortable for the 4 of us in town for a girls' trip. We had some problems (a water leak in the basement ceiling, front door lock not working), but the property owner was quick to respond and troubleshoot. The basement bedroom area is not a bedroom; it's one half of the downstairs rec room. The downstairs bathroom was not in good condition. Street parking is plentiful and we felt safe in the neighborhood. The river is not visible from the property.

We absolutely loved this VRBO! There's so much to do within walking distance in every direction. The house is also very cozy and quiet. We really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend this one :-)

We utilize VRBO and Airbnb frequently. This was the cleanest house we have ever stayed at. You could smell hints of the bleach and the towels and the sheets which gave me peace of mind that everything was nice and clean and fresh after showering or when getting into the bed. The rooms were well appointed & beautifully decorated. We would recommend this for any family especially younger ones. The stairs to the lower basement finished level are a little steep but I did manage it with a broken foot! So it is doable! Friday nights in the summertime, there is live music from 7 to 10 down at the bridge which is about four houses from this location, they cut off promptly at 10 PM so it’s not a real issue except the music is quite loud. The neighborhood is great and friendly and there is a walking path along the river where people jog and walk.

The River house was fresh, updated, clean and comfortable. Very convenient (1-mile) to everything in downtown Roanoke. If / when we go back I would definitely stay at the River house.

We parked our cars Friday night and did not move them until checkout time. We walked everywhere! A rain with lightening had us catch Uber for $9 to get back to the house at 9 p.m. We enjoyed the adventures of the space.

This place was perfect. It had plenty of space, was clean, and close to everything. Initially, it was a little chilly downstairs, but once we turned the heat up a couple degrees, it was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone needed a spot to rent in Roanoke.

The River House is a convenient place to stay. It is right on the walking path and next to the river. It was too chilly for us to use the path or the lovely back porch but we have already made plans to come back. There was ample on street parking. One queen bedroom and bath were in the finished basement giving each couple privacy. We enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend here relaxing and exploring Roanoke. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, from dishes to toiletries. The location was particularly excellent - right on the greenway, which we used to bike to coffee and restaurants. Only nitpicky observation was that, although the house got beautiful light, all of the windows only had thin curtains - something to keep in mind for anyone with kids or those who need a darker room to sleep when it’s light out. Overall a great experience and we’ll definitely be back!

Great location! This house is close to downtown and to all other sections and sites of Roanoke. It is clean and furnished perfectly for a relaxing visit. It has a well appointed kitchen for cooking, take out or just morning coffee. The basement is situated as a private suite for a couple's privacy while upstairs is perfect for 2 other couples or singles. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone slept so well. A walking / running path is just steps away from the backdoor for early morning walks/runs. The owner is accessible and very accommodating. Definitely in the top five VRBOs we have rented.

Very nice house. We enjoyed the greenway when we walked one morning and then another day we rode electric bikes on the greenway. We came to Roanoke to hike and the house was close to lots of hiking.

Our trip was a mini-reunion for three friends. The location in a family neighborhood felt very safe. Super clean and beds are super comfortable. The owner provided a very generous supply of coffee, paper products and toiletries along with towels and linens. Kitchen was well outfitted. Very walk-able to restaurants and downtown if you like to walk a mile or two. Ice cream shop just down the street is worth the calories! We loved our first trip to Roanoke and would definitely stay at this property again. Highly recommend!

Very pleasant stay. Property was very well maintained and neighborhood felt safe. Access to the Roanoke River Greenway (right behind the house) was a great bonus for walking and riding. Close to Blue Ridge parkway access too. Enjoyed our time here.

Great house but not REALLY on the river...
You will NOT see the river sitting on the back deck. There is quite a distance to the river AND it is lined with trees that block the view. You also will probably NOT walk to downtown. It would take about 30 min to walk the heart of the touristy area. You should also pack a 10 foot long surge protector power strip IF you would like to plug anything into a power strip by the bed in the Master bedroom (like your phone).
We did enjoy the living area, the round game playing table, and the kitchen. The location is a 10 min drive to downtown and close to grocery store. Very well appointed also.

Great stay for graduation
Wonderful stay. We had a graduation at VT, and while Roanoke is 45 min drive, quite a lot of people stay there because it is just easier and less crowded. Property was very clean, beds and linens super comfortable. Didn't get to use outside space because we were so busy. Lovely stay.

Recreation Get-Away
Enjoyed our stay at the property, which is located in a residential neighborhood abutting the Roanoke bike trail. Property is exceptionally clean and the downstairs basement, which has been upgraded to include a nice bedroom and full bath was excellent for our adult son who hiked & biked with us.

A great place to stay
This home looked just like the photos. It was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The beds where comfortable and the rooms where decorated beautifully. It also has a nice deck that faces the river. It was close to everything especially down town where we ate most of the time. Would highly recommend renting this home.

The house was extremely clean and very conveniently located. You may want to note that the downstairs bedroom and bath are located in a nicely finished walkout basement and the upstairs bed and bath are on the main floor.

Great Location, Quaint Property
This property is just as described and perfect for an easy getaway to Roanoke. Well located in the SW greenway area, it is a mere 5 minutes from Downtown and most attractions. We will return.

Every comfort in a great location!
A couple girlfriends stayed while hiking in the area. The house is clean and decorated really nicely Previous renters and the owner have left just about everything you could need in the kitchen -- from coffee to salt. The beds are comfortable and we all raved about the linens. Can't say enough about the location! Close to downtown and right on the River Walk to access restaurants (Blue Cow Ice Cream is a MUST). The house has great internet access, too, so it was easy to upload and share our adventures. 100% recommend this property. If we come back to the area, we'd rebook without a second thought!

Comfort and adventure
The property had every amenity we needed and more! If you’re into cycling or jogging, the Roanoke greennway trail is right in the back yard! We also enjoyed the local shops, breweries and Mill Mountain attractions which were all minutes away.
