I am sorry to say, I was disappointed with our stay. The listing said 30 min away and it is 40-45 min. Google maps states 38 min. That was a huge discrepancy for drive time back and forth to Penn State. I thought this place was going to be a really nice from the reviews and pictures. 1) The back door was unlocked when arrived (Hmmm) 2) The top burner didn't work properly; one top burner would go out if you were using the other tops burner so we really could not cook--- Frustrating 3) The towels smelled like mildew (All of them, they really need to be replaced) 4) The chandelier had only 1 light working 5) The stair railing was so loose, it looked like it was going to tumble right over if you placed your hand on it 6) We could hear the owners in the next room (they woke us up early) 7) They did not have the fire alarms in rooms. (Not sure if that's breaking the law) 8) The fireplace was not working and a note saying it was closed. I don't understand it was cold and they are heading into winter. 9) They had a fire pit and no wood... Yet no place around to get wood, they are pretty secluded. 10) You don't have any grocery stores close to you. Be prepared to get food before you go to the house. The location was beautiful but what we paid was not worth it. I am very disappointed. I am sad to say, I been to many VBROs and I have not experienced anything like this.

Rachel was so accommodating. Bucktail lodge is beautiful, clean and in an amazing setting!

The rental was very good. It would have been excellent to have use of laundry facilities since we were there riding trails, even If it was only for part of the time. Also, no stove was a little difficult, we were able to use the toaster oven and grill, but that would have made it even better. The communication and friendliness was the best experience.

This place is exactly as described, plenty of space for our group (~20 people). the weather kinda sucked but there was plenty of space indoors. Our host was really fast with responding messages and very accommodating with special requests. Not to far from state college but far enough to get some peace. At the price we payed this is definitely an insane deal! I highly recommend Bucktail and hope to be there again soon with a smaller group and better weather.

We stayed here for our family's annual girls weekend. There was plenty of space for the nine of us. The house was very clean and parking was not an issue for all the cars we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway at the lodge. We would definitely stay here again.

My 7 friends and I spent the weekend for my 22nd birthday and loved the house and everything included! Great for a cozy getaway!

Had a great visit for Penn State parents weekend and was nice for some of the kids to get a break from campus. I was nervous about making my daughters favorite meal with a hot plate and small oven but it actually worked just fine. Wonderful stay

We all had a great time at the Lodge. It's a well-appointed property that worked great for us and another couple. Only slightly challenging issue was the hot plate - not great for boiling water for pasta & cooking large amounts. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

My family rented this lodge for a family reunion near by. The house is clean, homely, comfortable, and in a great location. Instructions were left on the fridge and were very clear and concise! Bucktail lodge can sleep 7-8 easily (we had 7).

We had a great time. The house is so nice and really clean. Our second time staying here and would recommend. Owner was great and easy to work with.

The lodge was perfect for our family and Rachel was an extremely responsive and helpful host. She engaged with us at every stage of the process and she contributed to our enjoyment. A wonderful place for our celebration of my nephew’s graduation from PSU.

It was a beautiful house and for 8 people we were all able to have our own bed. Bring food! There is nowhere near that delivers. Luckily the host delivered the food to us, she is an amazing host.

Upon arrival we cleared a few of the previous renters pantry/fridge items and moved items in cupboards for more functional use. Everything was SUPER clean, beds were really comfortable. Again, great experience...Rachel was AMAZING...definitely full service.

The lodge is a cozy little place. Well decorated with good furniture, comfortable beds, etc. the kitchen is small but if you’re not cooking a feast it works. The house actually serves as both the lodge and a home for the owners. However the owners do not disturb you but it’s good to know to avoid a surprise. The owner was very communicative and easy to work with. Our group’s (small) downsides of the place: the WiFi is a bit slow. The couches in the main room had not been swept under (though the rest of the place was clean this part was a little disturbing). There was also some leftover food items left in the fridge as well. Still a nice place to kick back and relax.

We gathered for our second annual three-family reunion. Our time was spent playing games, laughing, taking walks and catching up. We had everything we needed in our clean, cozy getaway and enjoyed sitting by the fire.

Bucktail Lodge is a beautiful home away. Its great room is spacious, and beautifully furnished. There was plenty of room, and beds, for our rather large party (originally nine). Rachel was gracious and flexible. We had lots of fun playing outdoor games around the house as well as outings in the area. The kitchen area is very small, but we managed quite well with simple meals and my electric skillet and all the other small appliances provided. All in all, a great stay.

Lodge was very nice. Very clean. Nice night away.

Three families got together and enjoyed catching up and laughing together in this cozy lodge. We think the pictures don't do this lovely place justice. The beds were extremely comfortable and the great room a wonderful space to hang out together. The lodge is new and everything was very clean. The decor is very tasteful. Cooking without a proper oven and stove was a bit challenging! The hostess answered my questions and had lights on upon our arrival. We would return to Bucktail Lodge if the opportunity presented itself again.

Beautiful place... so clean and cozy.

The Bucktail Lodge is great...exactly as it is advertised and pictured on the website. We had a large group. All the beds were comfortable. We were there for the App State/Penn State Game. What a great atmosphere and game. The only thing that would have made our weekend better, would have been a win by our Mountaineers. We were SO close. Coming back to the quiet setting of the Bucktail Lodge, after a long day at "Appy" Valley, was really nice.
