We had parked two trucks in the edge of the yard, and the owner had called and asked us not to no problem we moved them. That was wrong. On our part. We should not have parked them in the grass. After that, the owner accused us for other things that was not true. He has cameras watching every movie you make. Just wonder how many cameras he has in the house .

It was the perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with friends. The "cabin" was beautiful and spacious with wooden beams framing the interior of the lofted ceiling. There were three sitting areas that gave privacy to anyone who wanted a quiet place to read. We planned a wedding vow renewal ceremony in the sunken garden. It was a little disappointing that the stone steps were crumbling in places so was not safe to use. The trees in the garden were large and overgrown, not as pictured in the advertising. A current picture needs to be shown. The day was beautiful and we should have some lovely pictures. We also enjoyed from the living room watching the deer as they came up into the yard.I would recommend Mama Mia's for a delicious Italian dinner and the Canaan Valley Resort Lodge for a top chef inspired dinner. Jonathan Davis, the chef at the resort, created a superb dinner for all four couples. I would highly recommend the short ribs. One day the ladies went shopping in Davis and Thomas. If you are looking for some unique gifts or antiques you will enjoy the shopping experience. Some of the fellows went hiking in Blackwater Falls and others enjoyed the solitude back at the cabin. There is also a nice hiking trail around the lake.All in all we had a wonderful time and would return again. But I would like to note that housekeeping needs to do a better job on cleaning the bathrooms and we found disgusting food in one of the casserole dishes in a drawer in the kitchen. A light bulb was out in the overhead light in one of the bedrooms downstairs. The patio chairs need replaced. There were eight of us and only for chairs we could safely sit in. These are things that can be corrected and make it a perfect getaway.

The property itself is beautiful, private, and serene. The house was big enough to accommodate our large family.
We did have an issue when one of our guests unexpectedly brought a dog. We paid a fine, but the owners graciously allowed us to continue our stay.
Upon our arrival, We found three broken, unusable patio chairs on the deck.
The numerous extra pillows would have been lovely; however, there were no extra pillowcases. The property management company/owner should tell renting clients to bring pillowcases.
The shower curtains had a distinct musty/moldy smell.
A king-size bed in the loft/master suite is a must!

Great home with separate seating areas, a beautiful deck and hot tub and stocked kitchen. Some of the furniture was fairly tired, but this is probably the norm for vacation rentals. The HOA plowed the snow immediately and Best of Canaan was very accommodating.

We have stayed in many houses in this community and this is truly our favorite. Well equipped kitchen (note many houses have some basic spices, salt, pepper, etc.. this did not) and plenty of space to spread out. One house next door, otherwise super isolated. So peaceful. Only wish they took pets.

The inside was clean, cozy, and included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed all of the outdoor space, especially the hot tub, chiminea, and dining area on the deck. The home’s large windows maximize the peaceful views, and deer visited us every day. The interior is very open and spacious, with a good-sized kitchen, large dining table, and comfy seating areas. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking gear, but unlike some rentals, does not provide any spices or staples, so bring everything you need. We did have a slight problem finding the right sleeping arrangements for each person in our group, as the twin mattresses in the lower level bedroom are sadly in need of replacement. Nonetheless, we still plan to return to this lovely home.

We are so happy we found this cabin in Timberline! We loved it so much we booked it again for next year. The house is roomy with nice furniture and most of the beds were comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and the fact this house has A/C plus ceiling fans throughout. The yard was nice and level for the kids to play and practice casting their fishing poles. The hammock and fire pit were great as well. Best Of Canaan Realty was awesome when we had to contact them with questions. They offer great customer service. We love the Timberline community and all it has to offer. Privacy, access to two lakes and two ponds and tons of trails for hiking. Even a leisure stroll down the dirt road is relaxing. Plus it is centrally located between two State parks and other attractions like Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks & Smoke Hole Caverns.

We were traveling with friends from DC, and it was the perfect getaway during COVID to a remote, calm, lovely spot with access to the outdoors and hiking. The hot tub is AWESOME, and we even had to turn it down because it was so hot! A few notes to make your stay even better:
+ Bring everything you need with you. This place doesn't have shampoo, soap, salt/pepper, cooking oil etc. Bring it all with you, and bring sharp knives if you like to cook.
+ They say they don't supply firewood, but there was a huge stack when we were there. There's also firewood sold around the corner if you run out.
+ The house is located at the end of a gravel road that takes about 10 minutes to travel on. In inclement weather, you really need 4WD
+ It is really annoying that you have to wash and start the dryer for the towels before 10am on check-out day. I haven't seen this policy anywhere else, so you have to build more time in to prep the house for check-out
+ We had zero cell service, but the internet was fine to work from there / have zoom calls
All in all, we had a truly wonderful stay! Would absolutely stay here again.
