Property was as described and location is perfect. Literally directly across from the beach and our family's favorite part was the private beach for Avalon estates. The other beaches were packed, but the Avalon private beach was much more relaxing and enjoyable. Perfect for a relaxing family vacation. Also, in close walking or driving distance from many restaurants, etc. Overall, great family vacation.

It was spring break so a busy time. We brought a group of adults and girls. This property is amazing! Would highly recommend for multi-family trip with kids. bottom floor bunk room w 3 queez sized bunks opens to game room with its own kitchen - ideal for older kids to hang out while adults each have their own king suite rooms w/balconies.

We had a great vacation! It was a beautiful spacious house. It has everything you need plus an elevator! It is close to the beach so walking with small children was possible.
The hot water takes a while which made us feel no hot water at first. We called maintenance on arrival and didn’t hear until next morning. The hurricane doors are tricky but we got on to them after maintenance came on second day. The oven door does not close tightly and caused us to need to increase the temperature and time baking. We needed to manually hold the door to preheat. We could not pull our van into garage because not wide enough. We put packaged food out first night and massive amount of sugar ants covered everything! Maintenance sprayed next afternoon but we continued to have some in one area. The house is beautiful but the tile floors and steps are hazardous for small children.

Have stayed in Avalon at least 5 times, and love the location and great houses. But the prices are getting outrageous and not sure will be able to afford to come back

Location is perfect don’t even need to rent a golf cart. House has plenty of space and set up perfectly to give families their own space. Needs a couple things updated that I wish we knew such as the jacuzzi doesn’t turn on until 6pm and does not get very hot at all. Water pressure is super low in showers. Some minor things like handles falling off in the shower or chairs needing repair. It was perfect and we would definitely stay there again.

The property is spacious and clean overall. The pool was not cleaned until the last day we were there. The rooms were all big and everyone had their own area. The property promoted togetherness with the open floorplan on the living area. The property location was great because it was very close to the beach, shopping and various restaurants. I would recommend this property to anyone who asked and even stay there again.

The location of this house was fantastic. Could not be closer to the beach and loved the dedicated access and beach. Home was spacious and overall in line with what I expected. Problems with pool heater/hot tub , air conditioning, wifi, dog poop in yard and pool area, pool never cleaned from previous tenants, and doors not closing well so ants/roaches/other bugs got into the house. Property manager also has had poor response time via text and sometimes phone (better but not great). For a high end property, we were disappointed that is wasn’t better prepared or maintained for us.

This property is in a great location! Just a short walk to the beach and the great Pompano Joes's. My daughter and her friends all loved the ability to stay at the pool, walk to the beach, or take a quick vrbo to the Destin boardwalk. The area is also extremely safe and welcoming to both large groups and families.

On the day we were heading down to the rental, we did not get check-in instructions until 330pm. No where after booking did we get any instructions or anything saying we won't get the door code until that time. I had to message and call them for the answer. When we got there we got there we notice the stove hood was not working so whenever we cooked the food smell would go all over the house because the fan did not work. I messaged the host that day and did not get a reply, I called the next day and got a couple missed calls back but no voicemail or messages from them. I tried calling back as well but there was no pick up. Nobody ever came to fix the hood vent during our stay. Also, we noticed the house already had some broken stuff such as the double doors. Most of them had a sign on one of the doors to say not to open which we thought was strange. But the biggest let down was communication from the owner. For all the money we spent, I expected a bit more help/service.

Very short walk to the beach! We loved that there is a vacant lot on one side of the home so therefore feels more spacious. The neighbors who own their home across the street are awesome and welcomed us! The house was great, one minor question and the maintenance guy answered immediately.

Overall, it was a good place and location! Enough room for big families. Here are a few pros and cons.
Pros:
-great location, close walk to beach
-had great amenities for families including propane grills, beach folding chairs and boogie boards although we did not use
-host was responsive
Cons:
-for a group of 20, there were basic amenities that were lacking. Only one roll of tp in each bathroom and we had to constantly request more which was a major inconvenience. Host stated she could not provide more tp due to “limited Sams Club quantities” and told us we needed to go purchase more.
-most bathrooms did not have any hand soap, we had to request that
-showers were equipped with tiny tubes of shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. Did not request more but fortunately we brought some of our own
-home is listed as a luxury rental but was a bit run down and looked different than photos. Could def use fresh coat of paint and some basic upkeep to improve

Great House, Perfect Location
This house was the perfect size for my family. 3 couples, 3 children 11, 6, & 4, and the babysitter was able to have her own space, which she enjoyed. The pool was great. The property manager was easy to communicate with. The best part about this house is the central location. It's close to Destin and Sandestin. We had a great first time visit to this area and plan on coming back!

We had a few dead roaches which I’m sure died from poison. So at least we know an exterminator has been there working on this problem. Just hated seeing them at all 😭

It was Great!
We stayed for our 36th annual Golf trip! While traffic and construction had us stymied at times..it was overall a great week! We noticed that on Monday the trash cans were full and we appreciated whoever put them out Wednesday as they were picked up at 5:40 AM on Thursday morning, so we saw how Monday might have been missed!! The kitchen Microwave was not working,,or maybe couldn’t figure out how to turn it on, but the downstairs one worked, so we made do! Thank you for everything!

We enjoyed our stay! We were a group of ten. Four adults, six children. The house was perfect for us. Absolutely beautiful! The beaches are everything we hoped for. Definitely going back next year. We recommend this house to everyone! The elevator was a plus for luggage and groceries. The views from each balcony was amazing! Only recommendation I have for the owners is for them to provide beach/pool towels and add a few more beach chairs.

Beautiful home
The home was beautiful but we had several issues while we were there. Air conditioning, ants in all rooms in the house, leak in the bottom floor ceiling in the kids room coming out of the recessed lights.
First night in, air conditioner was not cooling the full second floor with 3 of the bedrooms, was fixed for the 2nd night but lost a full day and night on that floor. Ants in the kitchen, bathrooms and around perimeter of the walls.
Had to put a cooler to catch the water from the leak in the kids room. Spoke with Ellen by text or phone and felt she was helpful in trying to get resolution for issues

Enjoyed location & size of home. Distance to beach was perfect as was coded beach access. Overall house comfortable, but second floor temp was on the warm side. Pool area with broken furniture & very used looking cushions. Hot tub didn’t work. Many vines hanging over pool wall. Ants in kitchen & a mouse or rat seen on one of patios.
All personnel with 850 were a pleasure to deal with.

This property is exactly like the pictures online. The home was beautiful. Everything was super clean. The beds slept great! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook for our family. Lots of games and things to enjoy at the home and only a short distance from the ocean. There were plenty of places to shop and eat within walking distance and just a short drive to a ton more. This was a wonderful place to enjoy a family vacation. We had three families and we never felt cramped or crowded because the home is so spacious. Plenty of room to spread out and have some time to ourselves and also ample space to gather upstairs for a meal and time together.

The location was perfect!
Chateau Lumiere was in the perfect location for our summer vacation in Destin. The sleeping arrangements worked out just fine for our group of 16. We were a 1 block walk to the beach and there were many restaurants, bars, stores and water sports or scooter rentals within walking distance as well. The home itself though, was a bit worn in areas and well "lived in". The first hiccup was with the elevator. Since the house is designed upside down if you will, the first floor holds the pool room, access to the pool and the kids rooms with 4 queen sized bunk beds. This may not be as much a problem if you're traveling with teens and young adults, but it wasn't the safest location for the younger kids which we had in our group. The kids hung out there during the day when everyone was enjoying the pool, and we had to bring them upstairs to our rooms at night to avoid any little one wondering to the pool area unattended during the night. We all had our luggage and was happy to see there was an elevator. However it did not work properly so we were never able to use it. We had to haul our luggage up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. This was just one trip, imagine the grocery haul that took us 3 & 4 trips to get up to the third floor where the kitchen is. There were several broken drawers in the kitchen and a broken chair on the balcony but besides those things, and after we had gotten used of the trip up and down the stairs, we enjoyed our stay. The home was spacious and the beds were comfy. There are many dishes and pots and pans and the many balconies came in handy when trying to catch some fresh air without the stair climb. I would definitely consider the home again especially because of the beach proximity and the many amenities.
