I can recommend this hotel. Charming and helpful hosts, excellent location in the town center, but in a very quiet area. Very filling breakfast.

Familiäres, gemütliches kleines Hotel mit gutem Frühstück, total netten und hilfsbereiten Vermietern. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und Bahnhof sind fußläufig erreichbar.

Wie in vielen holländischen Unterkünften gibt es sehr steile Treppen. Jedoch der nette Hausherr hilft gerne beim Gepäck.

was hot in room we had . no ac just fan which was a bit noisy. weather was particularly hot at time so probably not usually an issue. no lift only stairs to 3rd floor so might be a problem for some people

Hosts are the best. Very friendly, upbeat, helpful for questions we asked but also for offering up ideas for food and entertainment. My friend twisted her foot and they produced an elastic bandage from their first aid kit and brought her ice packs. The room was very clean and comfortable. They had a very small area to prep and display breakfast foods but they managed to pull it off very well, considering the dining room was usually packed. Fresh orange juice and expresso drinks, cold cuts and cheese, fruit, yogurts, breads, breakfast bars, etc. Coffee and fruit were always available in the lounge and a "mini bar" stocked with a good variety of drinks for a very reasonable price (honor system). The hotel is in the historic district of Haarlem, easy and quick to get to from the train station and bus stops around the corner. We arrived late and instructions given were thorough and easy to follow. No staff after 5 or 6pm but there was a number available to call. Once the internet shut down and, although I couldn't use my phone to call, I did email and got a response quickly. They are very conscientious about checking and answering email. Building was very quiet.

Two flights of narrow, curving stairs just to get to the front desk. No elevator or access for anyone with mobility issues. Host helped with luggage though. Was only a problem to us because of my friend's sprained foot. Room was a typically small European room, a little crowded for two but we made it work. There was a very small table with a plant and magazines on it that was too small to effectively use for anything other than a charging station and dump for various items (not a lot of storage in the room). We instead used the lounge for things like eating, planning and computing.

Everything! Caring and kind hosts, superb breakfasts, comfy beds, lovely property, central location, - couldn’t fault it!
