Quite possibly the skimpiest breakfast I've ever been given! One sausage, two small rashers of bacon, tiny bowl of beans and approx 3 mushrooms sliced up. In all covered less than 50% of the plate. Left there quite hungry

Very welcoming staff. Kitchen was closed when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon but the chef made me a sandwich. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was cooked to order and lovely. It was really good value for money.

There wasn't really anything to complain about. I have stayed here before and will do so again.

the breakfast room needs cleaning, accidentally dropped a spoon on the floor and when I picked it up it was covered in dust and dirt

The service is very good and the staff, friendly. The room was spacious. Breakfast was prompt, adequate and nicely cooked. Ilchester is a small, quaint town and is quiet at night.

This is a lovely little stone-floored hotel. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and very helpful. The restaurant meals were great too.

We were upgraded to a lovely large ground floor room, our door in a vestibule behind a closed door - but every time the hotel front door was opened and inadvertently slammed shut, the vestibule door slammed too. Not fun at around 7am!

The staff were wonderful and friendly. The restaurant menu was perfect for us (fish and chips were very good!). The English breakfast was very good. Plenty of parking and good WiFi everywhere.

I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions. It is one of my favourites as it is situated in a small Somerset village location just off the A303. The room I had was a single with a large bed with an entrance suite which is slightly cramped but adequate. The food and beer is good and the breakfast excellent as are the staff.

Comfortable and welcoming hotel in a small village. Ideally placed as an overnight stop on the way to the West Country. Not much to see in Illchester but there are some walks nearby and the hotel has a nice bar and serves good food.

Easy to find, on-site parking, comfortable room. The food was wholesome and the service was friendly and attentive.

Shower was too hot and not adjustable which we reported when we checked out
