The staff was very friendly and helpful. The manager carried my big heavy suitcase upstairs and dropped it down after my check out aswell.

Check- in was confusing as you have to check in not at Sydney Central in but in the pods Sydney which is 200m around the corner in level 6. So you carry all your baggage to that place, get your card and then carry it back to get to your room. What a pain honestly. They have a small kitchen, one single fridge and no extra cupboard for the dry food. The biggest disappointment is that they don’t have a stove or oven at all. Only rice cooker, microwave and kettle. Biggest down point: it is located above a night club. Means you have loud music all night and feel the vibrations of the speaker. Also: it says airport shuttle on the website. This is why I booked this hostel. But: when asked they said the company doesn’t offer the share rides anymore. They offered a private ride for 50 Dollar. That is 20 dollars more than an Uber! Absolute scam if you ask me.

the hotel refuse to open the windows causing the air not circulate , difficulty breathing , insomnia all the time and the mattress too soft cause back pain.

Several days before my check in date I got a notice that my credit card was charged under the name The Pod Sydney, which is a different hostel located nearby. I tried contacting both The Pod Sydney and Sydney Central Inn via email/message and phone to confirm that this charge was the one for my booking. I never got any response, so I cancelled my credit card. I found out later that both share the same reception. It is very expensive to ship a new credit card from abroad to Australia and difficult to find a suitable address when you’re constantly moving as a traveler. If the hostel had answered me or put this information in their listing, it would not have been an issue.

The location is central.

Sydney budget accommodation so had low expectations, they lived up to this. Room had a terrible smell, did not sleep due to constant and loud street noise. In the description it advised/ indicated there would be a fridge in the room, this was not the case. Also linen provided was a bottom sheet and an old ratty brown blanket, no top sheet or doona.

The Sydney Central Inn is very near China Town. It is convenient to travel. Moreover, the staff is very friendly.

The place for check-in is fairly far from the accommodation. The wifi can be used on the ground but can not be used at others upstairs.

you hear the pub downstairs all night. there is basically no kitchen nor a communal area

great location in lively area near Central Station , friendly, welcoming, helpful staff.

I’m surprised that Australian government regulations deem this property habitable . It has lots of mould and crumbling walls. No lift !!! Very noisy - loud band in hotel below . Odd challenging check in arrangement where you have to go to another hotel around the corner .
