The location ist gut for visiting Documenta. Very convince! Sanne is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Everything! First of all I didnt think that it was possible to find such affordable accommodation so close to the city centre and in high season in a Documenta year. The Documenta exhibition only happens in Kassel once every five years but it is an important international art event that attracts people from all over the world. In addition to the excellent price and location, the place is clean, quite and very tastefully decorated. It has a nice garden and good views from all windows. But also the host is extremely caring and helpful. From the start she established communication and regularly sent me updates about the Documenta since this was the reason I was visiting Kassel. But most importantly when the hiccups of my journey started (my flight got cancelled, the next flight got delayed, and I missed the last train from Cologne), she kept my spirits high until I found a solution to get to Kassel. I am so pleased I made it. This year's Documenta is amazing and I didnt have to pay a fortune in order to spend a few days in Kassel, plus I was in a really good accommodation. What a shame I couldn't stay longer. But I might return. Kassel is an amazing city with huge parks, big museums, historic buildings and local communities who do very interesting work. All this is worthwhile in its own right, even without a Documenta exhibition. I found the German word weltschmerz, which expresses how one might feel when walking in the woods and feeling solitary but very alive. I want to come back to have more time to experience this feeling when wandering in Kassel's parks and of course I will return to Gastezimmer am Weinberg!!
