I was one of the first guests at this hotel the first week it opened and I will always stay here when in Rovaniemi. It is still my favorite hotel in Europe, though I will admit that the first cook the hotel had (years ago) cannot be topped and I miss some of the entrees from earlier visits. The room is very comfortable, though if you get a room where the sun beats through the window, you'll need to turn off the heat and crack open a window. Everyone working at the front desk is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is still the best of all places I stay in Germany and Finland. On this visit,I ate dinner at the hotel every day and it was excellent. I particularly loved the salad and the reindeer tartare. Waldemar, the server, does his best to please. Finally, it is nice to be able to reserve the sauna for personal use, and it is a good one. For first time visitors. . . if you appreciate art, do not miss the Korundi. The curator there is outstanding. If you get the Culture Pass, it allows you to go to Korundi, Arktikum, and Pilke as many times as you like for a week. All three museums are really good. I went to Korundi every day I was there. Also, be sure to find out if there are any concerts or dance concerts at the Korundi while you are there. Fun place.
I miss some of the cocktails the hotel used to serve, especially the Tulle (sp), which sadly nobody knows how to make now. I think in the past the bartender must have just known how to make a lot of outstanding drinks and when he left, they left, too. It's a small detail, but those little touches like specialty drinks, really make an impression.

This hotel was one of the best I have stayed in. The staff were so helpful and could not do more for you. The breakfast was amazing, the range and quality of the food was superb.
One suggestion my children would have loved them to have the trabogins outside the hotel like the Santa Claus hotel their nanny and grandad were staying in .

The hotel is beautiful, clean and in the city center of Rovaniemi located. The personal was very helpful and kind, we arrived in the morning and they took care to check and accommodate us early. Really much appreciated as we were coming after a long travel. Also the breakfast is pretty generous and with enough options for everyone.

There were some ear cotton swabs on the floor in the bathroom behind the small sofa and one sock on the floor in our room which gave me the impression cleaning staff does not have a clear routine when it comes to getting rooms ready before new guests come. In one occasion we found a tennis ball in our room (funny but weird) guess cleaning staff use it to keep guests wondering how such a thing can happen (very random)

The hotel was lovely. Spacious room, comfy bed, very warm after being out in the snow. Modern decoration, private sauna in our bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location is great, right on the edge of the main walking street in the centre, by the river. If definitely recommend.
The room was a little noisy, with the door from the room next to ours banging loudly with people coming in and out, and the noise from the lift and guests coming and going up and down the stairs at night. Noise really travels in the stairwell, but it was a minor thing really.
The food in the restaurant looked lovely, but me and my daughter didn’t eat there, other than breakfast, as there was nothing on the menu for children and not much choice for me as a vegetarian. This wasn’t a problem as there’s lots of places to eat nearby.

The minute we arrived we felt welcomed. Staff was amazing, especially Mark duty Manager who was so great with my younger son. The room was so comfortable and absolutely stunning, the lights in the room were creating amazing atmosphere. The bathroom with heated floor was a huge bonus. Breakfast was great - huge selection and I loved that there was a lot of local food to try too. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was exceptional.

the breakfast spread was amazing, the service was fantastic and helpful, everything was clean, and the sauna was par excellence. even the lounge area was great- you could read books on Finland in their solarium or by the fireplace. seriously no complaints.

Our concierge was Max. Wow, what a fantastic fellow was Max. He helped us check in and had the answers before we even asked a question. Max accompanied us to our room to see if we were happy with it and explain some of the features. I noticed he did this for other people as well. Max is a perfect asset to this hotel.
The breakfast was fantastic. We stayed 3 nights and never got bored with the selections provided, even with me and my wife's different preferences.
The room was amazing as well as the bathroom........ 5 pillows each of different sizes on the bed! So posh!
I'm thinking..........still thinking.......no, I cannot think of any negatives about this hotel. Ah, parking is a bit limited, but other possibilities are nearby.

Our concierge Mark was brilliant, very helpful and instructed us to our room! He greeted us whenever he saw us and asked if everything was great! He also booked us an extra 30min for the sauna which was needed! :) Overall Mark made our stay a very pleasant experience!
We also enjoyed the breakfast which was our favorite out of few other hotels we've been to! The food we ate at the restaurant was brilliant, and we can't wait to eat it again!
The view outside from our room was straight into a parking lot and the other window we had, had the same view. We expected a ground level room anyways due to our pet, but it was still a bit of a surprise, but it was ok since we would close the blinds anyways. In the evening when we went to the sauna, it didn't warm up at all. So, we went to the reception and asked for help which was great but it took a while to warm up. Still, a huge thanks to Mark!
