Welcomed upon arrival
- cafe staff lovely
- loud noises from the toilet system
- uncomfortable beds
- dusty rooms
- had breakfast to be told it was £10, but on the menu it was £7.50
- bedroom furniture was on an awful slant some of our belongings rolled of
- not enough tea and coffee, one morning we had to wait over an hour to be able to ask a staff member for milk to be able to have a drink in the morning, shocking!
- no staff around throughout the night if anything was needed
- no welcome bedroom package

A brilliant little hotel. The breakfast was awesome. Will stay here again if ever in the area. Well done.
One tiny problem. Wall lights over bed not working. I do like to read in bed.

Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay most comfortable. Room very clean and breakfast very good.

Our second time here, we love it. The pub is the most friendliest place with a great atmosphere. Breakfast is excellent too.

Nice room, could probably do with a little refresh but it was very comfortable, clean and warm. We were in room 103 which is at the front and we didn’t hear any noise from outside, this was also rugby international weekend. Lovely evening meal and breakfast the following morning and the found the staff very attentive and friendly. The locals in the pub, although maybe a little worse for wear, couldn’t have been more friendly

No parking for the hotel itself but free 24hr parking over the road so no problem really.

too warm but that’s probably just me, no way to adjust the heating…very noisy from the moronic New Year’s Eve pub goers

Nice comfy room, not massive but good size for the money, with a good size bathroom. Clean & tidy. Room overlooks the town square. Staff are friendly & helpful. Good breakfast for the price

Beds are terrible, noisy during the night, breakfast without any fruit or vegetable, staff- they were absent most of the time, too much light during the night and morning. Bad sound isolation inside, uneven floor! The whole thing looks like it's going to fall apart soon

Breakfast was very good, location ideal as over for a memorial service in St Briavels.
Do not know how you could improve experience as it met our needs. All we wanted was a bed for the night which you provided.
Nice that we had same bedroom that we had 1st night of our honeymoon in 1995.

The breakfast was excellent, so plentiful we reduced parts each day we stayed, but excellent in every way. The room was comfortable and clean.
A great location for both the Forest of Dean abd the Wye Valley
Well nothing.. We loved the 'take you as you find us approach'which meant the bar was full of lively, friendly locals, regulars who showed life in the town as it is. No airs and graces but a friendly, quality value for money to have a great stay

The bed was clean and comfortable.....however the carpet had questionable stains on it with a chewed chair, smuggled in pet maybe!!!!!

Signs of aging to building but did not spoil our stay. Room clean large very comfortable. 4 friends sharing one room, plenty of space all said had good night sleep. Is late night bar next door, yes we heard them but did not disturb our sleep. Breakfast AMAZING, yes you have to order night before and state time but like other business struggling for staff. On morning of Breakfast everything cooked fresh and ran smoothly so no waiting.

Warm and welcoming. Attentive staff. Great value for money. Nice pub downstairs.
Net curtains would be a good idea given we over looked the bus stop with double decker buses parked along side the window.
