Affordability, comfort, great staff, very international, live music

Ik had contact met Damon en een meisje die er werkte, zij waren erg aardig en sociaal. Ze waren makkelijk te bereiken via Wechat. Leuk dat ze gezamenlijke activiteiten organiseren, dat had best nog meer gemogen wat mij betreft (bijvoorbeeld tegen betaling). Het was te merken dat iedereen hier hard werkt; de jongen bij de receptie was de hele ochtend mensen aan het helpen inchecken, koffie zetten en vragen te beantwoorden. Goede gratis koffie ‘s ochtends en cocktails ‘s avonds! Dichtbij het oude winkelstraatje bij de Wenshu tempel. Ook het modernere winkelcentrum Wanda plaza is 20 min lopen.

Kamer was erg donker, er was een klein raampje wat niet goed dicht kon waardoor er veel muggen binnenkwamen. Meeste faciliteiten hebben onderhoud nodig. Ik hoop dat het hostel de kans krijgt om door te ontwikkelen voor internationale gasten, zodat het net wat makkelijker wordt om mee te doen of te socializen. Bijvoorbeeld een Engelstalige kaart voor de drankjes. Als solo reiziger moet je het echt hebben van de mensen die je ontmoet, maar ik weet zeker dat met een paar verbeteringen dit een top notch hostel kan worden.

I'd highly recommend this place to start your journey in China - the personnel is so kind and helpful and speaks perfect English as well, so it will surely make it way easier to navigate around and generally adjust to Chinese specifics. Activities for guest were also great, we really enjoyed both Hot Pot Party and Sichuanese Opera show, so don't miss them! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to travel outside Chengdu, but the travelling offer is very interesting and surely worth checking out. At the same time, our room was very clean, comfy and just big enough for us. Free coffee is highly recommended as well (recommedation made by my friend, a coffee addict who struggled to find a good coffee in China :D) Special kudos for Michael and Damon, thank you guys for a fantastic experience!

The style of the first floor bar is very stunning. The male waiters on the night shift are very enthusiastic and provide excellent service, which is commendable. The accommodation location is relatively convenient for taking a taxi within the first ring road, but unfortunately the sign is a bit small and difficult to find

The cleanliness of the living room needs to be improved. The waitress with white spots is not very enthusiastic

We've stayed here twice before, last time just before the pandemic. The changes made to the hostel to keep the business running during the difficult years since then have made what was once one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in in China a shadow of its' former self. The formerly clean, light airy atmosphere downstairs is now a dark and dingy Western bar with loud live music and the rooms, corridors etc are tired and worn out with many things broken.

The location is good, is near the metro station. It is near to the city centre, and there are a lot of local restaurants beside the hostel. The room is spacious.

The hygiene condition is out of expectation. There were people smoking everywhere, and I can smell smoke even in my room. The condition of the toilet is dirty, I was not comfortable using it before using it. I decide to stay here because my friend has stayed here before, and said it was clean enough. We suspected that this could be because the owner has changed during Covid period, it is no longer a non-smoking hostel and they hygiene is really bad.

For German point of view very dirty, even compared with all other Chinese hotels i have joined.

Friendly staff, great place to hang out at night, had a small gym room, washer and dryer, the temperature of the shower was very convenient, and it was very close to the Panda Express bus stop

The sewage smell coming from the toilet, water from the shower drain took a little while to go down, shower head wasn’t working properly, weak water pressure from the shower, mold growing from the ceiling, and room wasn’t properly cleaned
