Host was very supportive, place was easy to find and host has also offered us home made breakfast in the morning, They also have BBQ in the evening. Strongly recommended

My stay at Jumanyan House was great! The host family was so kind and very attentive. It felt like I was their daughter. Always helpful and patient plus delicious chinese breakfast which would set me up for my hike! The house is not in Gubei Town but very close and transport is provided. There are restaurants and other businesses but Rock will let you know exactly what you need and where to get it. Perfect English from Rock who picked me up from Beijing South Station and I could practice my Chinese with Rock's mom and dad. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would love to come back!

The staff were so friendly and helpful despite us having limited Chinese. They catered to our every need and made sure our experience was a happy one.

The pillows were a little hard.

The family host is very very nice, very friendly. They helped us with the transportation, tickets etc. The place is comfortable, clean, the surrounding is great as well. Definitely reccomended. Food is great too! For us this is better than staying in hotel experience

Absolutely fantastic, they did a private car from and to Beijing. The host’s were lovely and helped us through out our stay, driving us to different parts of the wall. Their son communicated through wechat with great English, and they used a translate app. Definitely a highlight of our whole trip staying here!!!

The hospitality of the owner and his family, the homestay is really close to the Gubei water town. Nice Chinese breakfast for a small price. They can also cook a dinner for you, if you wish. It felt like visiting your relatives. Will return and definitely recommend it to my friends

The hosts were super nice, we had home made breakfast, home made pie. The owner picked us up in our Beijing’s hotel and was our driver for 2 days. After hiking the Great Wall he drove us back to Beijing which was super convenient (paid service of course).

Bugs - Bugs all around our room. Even if there were nets in the window, they are able to get somehow inside. I killed 11 of them just after arrival, another 13 when we got back from the night Simatai Wall. Location - We chose this place bucause of its location JUST next to Gubei water town. When we arrived, we found out the hostel is 4 km away. The location in Booking is not correct

Best Chinese breakfast ever. The host was very nice to us and he picked us up at the bus station in Gubei. The room was clean and quiet.

Family friendly hotel just 20 minutes by "Dads Taxi" to Beijing Water Town and S Great Wall entrance. Son drove us from the airport, a 2 hour journey that cost us less than the metro and Express bus fare for one person from Beijing Airport. Much cheaper here for 3 days than just one day inside Wtown. Simple home cooked food made for us and it came hot. Son, Mum, Dad and Auntie genuinely cared that we see and do all the best things in the area. Family used a translator to communicate which worked fine. We would rebook with them and maybe stay longer. This is the heart of China

Lower standard of accommodation than hotel chains but perfectly acceptable and very clean. I didn't like having a "tab" and paying at checkout but that's just me, I can see how that would be easier for both sides rather than pay everytime you eat or drink.

We had a great stay. The owner taxied us around to the vairous destinations we wanted to hike and was there to pick us up afterwards. We had a great time! The villiage is only a few minutes drive from Simatai and 7-8 minutes from Jinshanling.
