A host gives any place its feeling of „home“. Robin is the embodiment to that and his family showed a fascinating effort to please us with a rich breakfast, tidy room and perfect balance between business and personal presence! We highly recommend his place! 👏🏼

Robin is a wonderful host and makes you feel welcomed right as you enter the Gasthaus. He holds wonderful conversation and is a wealth of information. I will definitely be booking another stay when I return to Germany!

The room was really spacious, and clean! We were warm and comfortable. It was nice to have the private bathroom. Robin (the host) is so friendly! It was nice to have breakfast in the common kitchen with the other guests.
Shampoo /shower gel were not provided and there was nowhere to buy them, but this didn't trouble us much :) i'd recommend to bring your own!

very steep stairs (it was impossible for our dog to walk down the stairs on her own, and she is a very agile dog used to challenging obstacles)
the kitchen is quite small and it can get very packed and a bit overwhelming feeling in the morning when you have to have breakfast with the other guests in such a reduced space
the ceiling on the top-floor rooms is a too low even for a 1,84m tall person 😅 but I got the possibility of using the showet downstairs where I could stand up

For those who go on the Malerweg , the location is amazing, right on the route and without additional walking distance. Robin the owner, is a kind person who helps with any question. next to the hotel is a nice restaurant

This is right on the Malerweg and is one of the only reasonably priced places in the village. Host Robin is a delight and makes you feel welcome and speaks English for those of us who know nothing else!

Very entertaining host and a large breakfast at the shared kitchen table. The kitchen can also be used to cook your own dinner or just to hang out and chat with other guests.
The room is spacious with a good shower.

Our host Mr. Gernot kindly let us leave our luggage early in the morning so we could keep hiking nearby. A staff member Robin was courteous and friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast very much!

Spiders in every corner; rooms seem not very clean. For the money we paid, compared to other locations we have stayed at in the same trip, which included private bathroom, this place is overpriced.

Highly recommended to those seeking a quiet place with accessibility to Bad Schandau, Schmilka, and the neighboring towns on the Czech side (10mins cycling distance with a bicycle).

The place, the people and the breakfast! Great hospitality!
The shower was too low and could not be fixed at the wall properly. Beds were too noisy.

Nice breakfast. Several baked breads/rolls and plenty of fruit. Also the employees (especially Tanya) were very nice.

Within a small subpart of the city with lots of chances to get around - nice little restaurant (Mühle) around the corner.

The house is very Unique, rooms were clean and comfortable. Access to a very well stocked kitchen and strong wifi throughout the building. The place is situated in the center of Schmilka, while a bit of the main street, which really helps to get away from the noise and bustle of this popular location. The host was very friendly and helpful. Beakfast was a real highlight. Great for a stay while hiking malerweg.
Everything was excellent, even included a free pre-set alarm clock in a shape of a live rooster!
