Hiroshi is super welcoming and did accommodate our needs. Great breakfast, very quiet and comfy hotel. Beautiful wooden floor in the room. Bathroom with bathtub.

Superb stay for such an affordable price! Bed and pillows were super comfy, and the room was cozy and warm. The shower was also excellent. It was great to come back to the room after a full day of walking. The inn location was also superb: midway between Laguna Nimez and El Calafate's main avenue, where all the shops are located. The inn owner was very organized, and kept track of our plans so we could get our breakfast on time before the excursions. She also provided local tips of where to eat and which agencies to hire for the tours, and they suggestions were always on point.
We felt there was a lot of street light coming into the room at night. Blackout curtains might help mitigate the issue.

Cleanliness: Average. The floors and bathroom were okay, not very clean but not very dirty. Dust in certain areas, and bathroom could use some TLC. The shower knob was broken, the sink was loose, wasn’t the cleanest of rooms we stayed in.
Customer Service: Below Average. Please read experiences above. Although we had an epic trip to Patagonia, this was definitely not a highlight of our trip. Exhausting and frustrating customer service.
Food: Above Average. The food was basic. It got the job done but we decided to get breakfast on our own on the second morning just so changed things up and minimizing our interactions.
Value: Average. See last point in review regarding payment in cash or paypal only. The room got the job done but we would not stay at the same hotel again and would not recommend this hotel, especially if there are other available options.. It was unpleasant and we like positive interactions instead of feeling like a bother.
I struggled whether or not to write this review. But in all fairness, during our one-month trip, we reviewed all the other hotels so it’s only fair that we review this one objectively as well. From the moment we arrived and checked-in, it didn’t feel warm or friendly. We felt that this was strictly a business and there was a definite lack of customer service. The gal in the front did not engage in conversation, did not help with the check-in process (did not assist with our luggage, did not show us how the key locks works, did not show us how the heater works, did not show us how the safe works, or give us a thorough orientation). She was strict and required us to leave the key at the front desk when we left, which seems to be the standard. But when we forgot, she talked down to us and appeared unhappy. We asked her questions about breakfast and she said don’t come early because it will not be ready. When we asked her questions, it seemed that it was an inconvenience and all she wanted to do was get back to her bookkeeping or working on her computer. When we asked her about a sink plug, she said she did not have one and she will check with the cleaning lady the next day. Of course, a plug never showed up. But she did proceed to state that we should be careful so we don’t let water run on the ground and ruin the wooden floors. With all of these experiences, it just didn’t feel warm and inviting and we actually dreaded seeing her when we passed by. The room was not well maintained with cheap consumables. As mentioned before, it seemed like strictly a business to make as much money as possible. One last point, I’m not sure if this is standard practice but she told us she would only accept cash or paypal. So if you intend on staying here, bring enough cash to pay for the room. I’m not sure if she was avoiding a surcharge, or trying to not report the earnings, but we ended up going into town and getting Argentine pesos and paying her in cash.

Wonderfully attentive and helpful owner addressed all our needs (in 3 languages!) We appreciated the comfortable lounge area and walking distance to nice restaurants and a large bird refuge. We went there twice and would recommend this to anyone!

everything - lovely cozy hotel, welcoming and helpful owner & staff & good location.
the TV was on all the time even during breakfast and the volume was too high

A very pleasant hostel but as with most accommodation in El Calafate a definite taxi ride from the bus station. From the hostel it is an easy walk to the main street or the lake front - both worthwhile. The hostel is quiet and comfortable.
The dog stole my socks left on window sill to dry.

4.5
Very nice host, speaks great English and will help you with anything you need.
Location is very good - about a 15 minute walk to the main street and a 20 minute walk to the lake, so you get the benefit of a quieter area but also don't need taxis.
If you're mostly going to be out and about, this is a great stay.
Wifi is slow - about 2mbps. It was very frustrating to do conference calls. That being said - I heard wifi all over calafate is not good, so plan accordingly.
Breakfast - coffee was great, the rest of breakfast was bread, jam, a pancake, and a slice of ham and cheese. Would have loved to have an egg at least. It also ends at 9am, so if you're not an early riser you may miss it.
This goes for all of Argentina, but the walls are paper thin, so you hear the other guests and staff moving about. Not one place in Argentina have I been able to sleep without ear plugs, this one included.

The hotel is very clean and nice. The room is clean and esthetic. The owner is willing to help. The lobby is nice and the breakfast is good. not far form the center.
We were looking for a large room as we had quite a lot of equipment. However the room was smaller than indicated, not too much space

The hosteria is located in an optimal location and has a warm, homey feel to it. Elizabeth the host was absolutely exceptional, always ready to help or answer questions.

Elizabeth is a wonderful host. Her English is good and she was very hospitable. She helped us on several occasions like booking a taxi or calling several car rental companies. She makes very good pancakes for breakfast. We enjoyed our stay enough to return a second time!
Walking to city center is a drag. I advise renting a car immediately especially if you plan on going to El Chalten.

Friendly staff, super clean, comfy rooms, and quiet location - away from the bustle of the main strip. I would certainly stay here again next time I visit El Calafate.

I was traveling alone. I don't speak Spanish and my flight arrived late, so I got to the Mizayato later in the evening. Elizabeth (the owner, I think) helped me. She speaks great English and was very efficient, I told her I am from LA and was trying to see the Super Bowl somewhere on TV. She helped me find it on the cable TV in their main lounge and lobby, and to find a place to get dinner I could bring back. I was able to catch the end of the game without missing dinner.
I wanted to visit the Petito Moreno Glacier the next day, but also had to get to El Chalten, a few hours away, where I was staying that night. I had not secured a rental car, and it was the high season. Elizabeth helped me by calling six different agencies and finding a car. Ultimately, I did not confirm the reservation fast enough, so Elizabeth then called and found me a cab driver who was able to take me to the glacier (an hour-plus away) pick me up after three hours of site-seeing (by the way, this is something you should not miss), take me back to the Mizayato Inn, where I had left most of my bags, and then drive me on to El Chalten, all for a very reasonable rate. As a note, please make sure you understand how the exchange rate works in Argentina and use Pesos to pay for everything; it is very reasonable.
The breakfast that was included in the room was good and the room was very clean, spacious and quiet.
