The location was great, only a few minutes walk from anything you could need - bakeries, cafes, restaurants, shops. The place is as shown, clean and tidy with beautiful lighting and a spacious feel. I found the amenities to be generous and delightful, all communication with Tjakko easeful, check-in and check-out were simple and pleasant, with the whole experience really upping the quality of my stay in Amsterdam.

Amazing place to stay! Looked like photos. Hands down the most comfortable bed in a rental I've ever slept in, slept great everynight. Stayed warm during the cold with the thick curtains that also block out sun. Warm bedding. Smart TV so you can watch Netflix. Tjakko gives great recommendations for around town and stocks the places with things to make your stay great. Great shower, gets hot quick and great pressure. Central to sights of the city, in walking distance to a lot. Bar/restaurant under apartment is great for cocktails! I LOVED staying here. Stairs on property are steep and small but Tjakko helps where he can but if stairs are impossible for you this might not be a fit. Being said im plus size and I managed and there are plenty of rails to help up and down. I was also able to see the other apartment Tjakko has available and its equally amazing! He is an amazing and kind host. You will enjoy your stay!

The apartment was beautiful and very well appointed. The perfect location in the heart of Amsterdam. The stairs are a bit steep but Tjakko helped us with our bags. A wonderful restaurant in the basement of the apartment. You will enjoy your stay if you choose this perfect Amsterdam apartment.

We really enjoyed staying here. Located in the 9 streets area it was very close to all sorts of attractions. The place was clean and as advertised. The host, Tjakko, was extremely communicative up to and through the stay. There were snacks and a stocked refrigerator as well, which was an unexpected surprise. 5 out of 5 stars!!

The room was FANTASTIC, spotlessly clean! We had 2 comfortable chairs, a large king-size bed with crisp white linens. There was a faux fireplace with wooden mantle, white granite horse sculpture as a decoration. A very large ottoman with a tray of wine , champagne, cordial and water glasses plus coffee cups an ice bucket and a wine opener. Small fridge contained a bottle of champagne, Chardonnay wine, 4 bottles of beer and 2 bottles of water all free of charge plus a carton of milk for coffee. Top of fridge had an electric tea kettle and a Nespresso coffee maker with milk frothed. Sugar and nespresso coffee pods. Bathroom was unbelievable all glass enclosed and large with 2 shower heads; extravagant! Hot water was plentiful. 2 umbrellas and a hair dryer were also provided! Host was super nice and helpful. We HIGHLY recommend this VRBO rental!1

We are a couple in our 70’s and found the stairs very challenging. The property manager was kind enough to help with our heavy luggage.

The 9 Streets area is centrally located and close to all major sights while away from the busy, downtown party streets. It has an abundance of restaurants and many interesting shops. Our host provided a number of welcome extras like sparkling wine, some bottles of beer, water, snacks and coffe3 to get us started. Thank you, it was appreciated.

This property was the perfect location for my husband and my stay. It is within walking distance to many popular sites in Amsterdam. The room was stylish, comfortable and well supplied. The owner stocked the fridge with water, beer, wine and champagne free of charge. There was coffee and waffles, as well. We will definitely being staying again!

My wife and I started our two week European vacation with three nights in Amsterdam at Tjakko’s luxury suite. As previous reviews detailed the host provided wine and beer in the refrigerator with water, coffee the best Dutch Stroop Wafels and chocolate. Location was essential for our first stay in Amsterdam and this apartment is in a perfect location to go unimpeded throughout the downtown core. There is a restaurant next door that we wanted to try as other reviewers raved about the “Sous Bistro” for tapas and wine. Unfortunately we did not have a reservation and there was no room for us outside. Timing was on our side as Tjakko was there and he set up a table for us on his step overlooking the street and we had the most fantastic dinner at the best table in Amsterdam! This was an amazing stay and opened our eyes to the way of life in Amsterdam. We will definitely be back someday in the future. Thank so much to the host Tjakko. Bill & Nicky

Our stay was amazing. Met with our host and he showed us our room. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. Greeted with a bottle of champagne, beer and wine in the fridge. Snacks for us to enjoy during our stay. The bed was very comfortable, accommodations very spacious, bright and very clean. If you want to experience life with the locals this is definitely the place to be. All our needs were met and exceeded our expectations. The location is unbeatable, the restaurant downstairs is awesome (we ate/drank there three times) as are a number of places nearby. There is a bike rental shop next door and a supermarket just down the street which were both very useful for the duration of our stay. The host was great and explained everything in detail when we arrived and made some good reccommendations about where to go and eat. We of course loved the touches of beer/sparkling wine that we could enjoy upon arrival along with some snacks. The bed is also super comfy. I absolutely recommend staying here! It was one of highlights of our holiday so far.

Comfortable bed and nice linens, bright spacious room in an interesting character building in the 9 Streets area. We enjoyed the refrigerator, A/C, and coffee maker. It was bit noisy at night and I had trouble with the traditional steep stairs (I’m 72) which should have been mentioned for folks like us who have never been to Amsterdam.

The Good: location; host; clean and modernized. Good to know: on busy street with food and drinks, so noisy until after midnight! On second story of old building. Stairs (more like ladder at top) are “very steep”. Wife and I are active Seniors, so we managed, but might be difficult for some. With that said, had a wonderful time and enjoyed the location overall, and would definitely rent again.

The apartment is exactly as advertised. Very comfortable. Communication and check-in could not have been better or easier. The location was great for our stay. Tram and subway stop is a short distance. An added benefit is the lovely restaurant downstairs—great food and easy.

I highly recommend this VRBO! The host is so kind, and the check-in was VERY easy. The place is in the heart of Amsterdam. We stayed here during the first part of our honeymoon, and for the end. We had champagne, beer, wine, and water for us in the fridge. The hose also provided us with snacks. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit. Amsterdam is our absolute favorite place in the world!

Location was the most important thing for us. We didn’t care about having a kitchenette or anything so this suite was great. The restaurant below the suite is excellent. There is a grocery store within a block or two. Be prepared for the open bathroom and some road noise but that’s part of living downtown. The owner was well organized. Let us drop our bags off early gave good recommendations. We had a great time

We had an amazing stay at our apartment in Amsterdam. Tjakko is a wonderful host. The location was amazing in the center of Amsterdam within walking distance from everything. Room was very spacious and he left us a bottle of wine, Prosecco, beer, and Nespresso coffee. Our host was also great, helping us carry luggage up and down the staircase. all in all, we had a wonderful stay at this apartment, which we highly recommend

Location was great. Checkin process even better. Wine, beer and champs waiting for us at 10am. Owner let us checkin at 10am and our friends checkin at 6am the next day into their room. Location was great. Walk to everything and felt less touristy than other areas we saw. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. If you are considering, book this place with no worries

This condo is in a great location. Very comfortable. More Spacious than expected. Fantastic shower / bathroom. Well supplied with Nespresso And a bottle of champagne upon arrival. The owner provides great communication. Would love to come again.

This place was absolutely fantastic! The perfect location. A grocery store a few steps away. A great Italian restaurant on the bottom floor. Wonderful shops just steps away! We loved our stay! Tjakko went above and beyond with the little touches of local goodies and a bottle of champagne to kick off our honeymoon. On top of that — the bed was so comfy, the whole place was very clean, and the location was perfect.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The room is spacious, the location couldn’t be beat.
