We love staying here. The atmosphere is cozy. It's a great location with easy walking to the center. The staff are super friendly and you can get a coffee fresh made in the morning.
Well, in a perfect world, a pillow to bed with foam topper. But the bed was fine, really lol

Found us an English-speaking guide for a walking tour for the next morning. Also, even though it was after the "season" the staff made us a fire in the fireplace which we loved that evening in the patio area. The staff was very accomodating and we had a delicious breakfast of yogurt, fruit, toast, coffee and hot chocolate. There were four of us, and as the last person to go to bed I was left with a very high pillow - too high for me, so I slept without one. Also, was a bit nervous about the security...the lock on our door seemed very flimsy. These were very small issues, we very much enjoyed our stay...the staff made everything wonderful.

the decor was very interesting and filled with antiques of the colonial period. tithe little courtyard contained a tiny chapel and was a good place to get some sun.
Mornings were cold and the room was dark. The bathroom was not well ventilated.

The hotel is in an old stone building that was once a big house. The rooms and the interior courtyard are magical spaces in their own right, which means spending time in the hotel becomes part of knowing this historic city.
I had a car. The parking is a bit of a hassle, as it is in many historic Mexican city centers not built for the car. They have a deal with a local parking garage three short blocks away to park free starting after 8pm at night til 9am the next morning. But you have to bring your car there by 9:30pm at night, or else they close up. Then it costs 15 pesos per hour after 9am the next morning, so you have to go and get your car, and then find a place on the street. I gave up after one night and left it on the street in front of the hotel in one of their two reserved spaces. You take a chance doing it, but it seemed pretty safe.
