Acerca de este alojamiento vacacional
Traditional Highland Country House

We absolutely fell in love with this charming period home!! The surrounding property was a dream. Spacious and open with familiar vibes for me. We walked to a farmers market a few miles away and lived every minute of it. Photo ops galore. Inside the house fit every mark we needed. We had 8 adults, all of which had plenty of room and privatacy. The multiple bathrooms were a big bonus! The dining room was perfect for our fancy dinners and tea party. Very Pride and Prejudice vibe. I absolutely fell in love with the kitchen. The Aga stove was fascinating. The cozy fireplace was so nice for our friends to be welcomed with. I felt the love of the centuries gone by and by the family from past and present. I will absolutely want to stay here again. If I had to mark a downside it might be the lack of kitchen staples such as seasonings but really wasn't a big deal for us. And maybe a better lock on the front door (but we did feel safe). Enjoyed very much

We enjoyed staying in this house. Excellent communication prior and great information left in the house. A comfy house with lots of space and lovely gardens. Would stay again.

We had a lovely stay in Kingillie house, the space, the setting and the warm feel of the house were perfect. Our grandchildren had a great time playing tennis, as did the adults! We would definitely recommend the property and we would certainly look at coming back in the future!
Thank you Sophie, it was just brilliant!

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer home and property to start our trip. The living space was perfect for gathering. And the host was super pleasant and helpful

Kingillie House was the perfect place to celebrate Thanksgiving - it was big, welcoming, comfortable and cozy. It was such a treat having an Aga (everything we cooked was delicious !).We all also appreciated the choice of board games (regular evening rounds of scrabble and Articulate). The house although old was super clean and had everything we needed for the week. The location is also great - easy to pop into Beauly and close to lovely walks. Gorgeous views of the sunrise from the front room . All in all a wonderful week at a lovely place.

Cosy and comfortable. Loved the tennis court. Enjoyed being all together in the kitchen/living room so no one was isolated when cooking. Would have preferred to have curtains in the bathroom window.

We had a fabulous stay at Kingillie House in July 2022. Our party of 9 had plenty of room to spread out in the comfortable bedrooms. Sitting areas are spacious, and the kitchen was fun and cozy (warmed by a wonderful AGA stove). The setting was bucolic - quiet and serene countryside but very close to many interesting places to visit. The owner was very responsive, and shared not only recommendations for local activities but also her unique family history. Bus transport to Inverness is convenient, but having a car is preferable at this location. The village of Beauly is very close for all of your necessary shopping. Friory Fish and Chips was the best, and you can't miss going into the Campbell's of Beauly shop. We highly recommend this house for families who would like to have a central location in the Highlands to explore beautiful Scotland.

Perfect Two Weeks!
I rented Kingillie for two weeks with my extended family—14 of us! The house was the perfect size for such a large, tight-knit group. There was plenty of space to spread out and also to find quiet, private moments when needed. The house itself is perfect, not in that generic perfect way but in a way that it’s bones tell stories and the house is filled with warmth and soul. The grounds are stunning—we spent lots of time outside: playing tag with the little ones, exploring the countryside, admiring the beauty of the landscape. And it’s close to Inverness and lots of lovely scenic views and historic sites. Something for everyone! (Even the writer who mostly just wanted to soak up the ambience and be inspired😊). Thank you for sharing this treasure with us🙏❤️

May 2022
We had as great time staying at Kingillie House, the host was great, quick to reply to any questions we had and helpful in suggesting some restaurants to try in the area. The house itself was beautiful and in a lovely situation with lots to do in the area. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience
Our group of 6 adults and 5 teens had a superb experience at Kingillie House in Kirkhill. We had plenty of sleeping options and had a hard time dragging the teens out of the luxurious beds each morning.
Highlights of our trip included mornings with coffee around the farm table, tennis and croquet on the lawn, watching sheep graze in the pasture nearby, a must-see drive into Glen Strathfarrar only 20 min away (most beautiful spot in the Highlands), dinners in nearby Inverness, and time with friends around the fireplace.
We give Kingillie our highest praise and did not want for anything during our stay. We plan to return!!

Characterful and relaxing
This is a great property for large groups seeking a Scottish retreat. Lots of character, homely and freshly renovated bathrooms make this an easy weekend get away.
Log fire, large dining area and board games. Comfortable beds and quality linen.

Lovely vacation
The house is conveniently located for various day trips, there are beautiful walks nearby and the grounds offer plenty of things to do. We had lots of kids with us and they were very happy roaming the house and playing tennis and badminton outside.
The kitchen and dining area are very well equipped and there is a wonderfully convivial feel to them, conducive to big meals and hanging out long into the night.
The bathrooms could use some updating, but what they lack is made up by the downstairs and outside area.
We had a great time

An idyllic place in Scotland
We had a great time on our family holiday in Kingillie. We played a lot of tennis and croquet on the lawn. This is a great place with plenty of room and nearby places to visit. Our multigenerational family all found things to do. We can highly recommend a trip to Plodda Falls to swim in the pool under the waterfall.

Fantastic Week, Beautiful house
We have just returned from a week staying at Kingillie House. It is a beautiful old house situated in well kept stunning grounds. Once the guys in our party had got over the shock of their being no TV (something I had missed in the description), it actually wasn't missed (apart from the crucial Euro match which the pub down the road assisted with!). We all said at the end of the week how nice it had been without one. There is everything you could need in the house, and the kitchen was fantastic and became the main gathering place. Communication with Sophia we excellent. The house is situated perfectly for exploring the highlands and should we ever return, we would have no hesitation in booking the house again. It was a welcome week away in all the current madness in the world.

Superb Accomodation
We were a large family group, and everything about the accomodation was superb, my grandchildren loved the freedom that the grounds offered.
This was an ideal base for us, which allowed us to relax, the house itself is huge and very comfortable.
The host was fantastic, so thank you Sophia for making our stay so enjoyable.
We have found an ideal location for future family holidays , so will definitely be booking again.
This is 5 star accomodation and I would highly recommend it to anyone that want's a relaxing break.

Great second stay.
This was our second stay at this property, both times with a large family group. It’s so roomy, a perfect “Scottish” country feel with a quiet location and gorgeous grounds. We had one issue this stay, but it was quickly resolved. I just adore this house and if I ever make it back to Inverness I’d hope to stay here again.

we have enjoyed our stay at Sophia's house very much. It's a large property with space and rooms for everyone. We were a large group, but no one has ever complained about a lack of private space. The kitchen is well equipped and whatever we were cooking, the utensils were there. There's absolutely everything you need. Kids had also plenty of fun. The house is large enough for them to play hide and seek for hours. After they got bored they could always go and play outside, either on a swing, running around the house or play tennis. Yes, there's a tennis court on the property and enough tennis rackets in all sizes. There's also a table outside which we used to play ping-pong, the net is available also. Kids never missed a Television or a laptop. We had superb evenings at the fireplace and very quiet nights that followed. It's a house with a tremendous amount of character and ( I bet) history. We have enjoyed every minute of being in it. Thank you.
