we loved that the hotel was next to lake and we had a beautiful view. It’s nice short walk to the beach and centre. Room was big and comfortable. Breakfast had so much variety. parking free.

The hotel has a great location, downtown close to everything. That being saif, Norheimsund is really big, so I guess everything is close by. Breakfast is the best; great selection, fruits, cereal, bread, yoghurts, juices, hams, etc. Was able to get an early check-inn.

Too hot in the room, and not able to adjust the temperature (at least to my knowledge). Pillow was too big to my likeling, and sheets was heavy and got really hot. Did not have a good sleep here.

Excellent breakfast and beautiful room location.

The room was a little warm for us—strange to say as it was snowing outside—but we could not reduce the thermostat. Other than that we were very happy with everything about our stay.

Great place at the Hardangerfjord. Beautiful old building. Dining room is awesome.

The apartment we used for our family of five was very clean and comfortable, with all the necessary ammenities to cook supper. The beautiful view on the fjord was an added bonus. Breakfast was very good.

Excelent location, very helpful staff. Daniel Thowsen at reception provided helpful suggestions for our trip on email prior to arrival. Other front desk staff were also very helpful during our stay. Sirven at the restaurant was great at meeting my special meal request.

Hotel Thon Sandven is in a beautiful location, in the quiet town of Norheimsund but with views of the fjord, Folgefonna national park and surrounding hills. The balcony rooms have a great view of all of the above. It’s a good base for exploring the area by rental car and has much more character than the more modern hotels in the area. It’s also within easy walking distance of shops, eating places and a supermarket.

Hard to find many faults, but the breakfast was a little inconsistent in timings and availability of certain things. The fridge in our room was not cold at all and didn’t work without the electricity on anyway which needed the key card in the room, so it was virtually useless. We were told this was to conserve electricity, however ironically the heated floor in the bathroom was on full blast constantly and we couldn’t find how to turn it off - making the bathroom a sauna!

View was very good and the staff was friendly!

Breakfast was not very good as compare to the price. Also we have to ask many time for few things which was finished before the breakfast time.

Excellent breakfast, well managed by friendly staff. Reception staff welcoming & helpful. Housekeeping staff very efficient. Our apartment came without sink plugs in kitchen & bathroom, this was rectified in 15 mins by reception & maintenance staff. Wonderful location overlooking the fjord.

The bathroom was spacious, but lacked enough towel rails or hooks for a 2 bedroom apartment. The nice sized balcony only had 2 chairs, we were booked in as 3 people, sadly it rained almost everyday so we didn't get the chance to use them. Our bedroom was a lovely size with plenty of storage space, but lacked a mirror or dressing table despite there being room for both. Extra wall sockets would of been useful especially by the bedside cabinets. Worn out chairs in lounge let it down a bit.
