The hosts were welcoming and the breakfast was very good with products from their own farm.

The house is located in a beautiful village and is surrounded by nature and other traditional houses. This creates unique atmosphere that makes you feel at home. For this also contributes the delicious food that they not only prepare themselves but also produce in their own farm. They served more than we could eat and were very friendly and talkative. Definitely a great place to stay if you want to charge with good emotions!

We can't wait to come here again! The village is picturesque and the people are hearty and kind. Staroto Shkolo is perhaps the best place you can get an authentic experience in the Central Balkans in terms of location, nature, food, and hospitality. We felt like we were part of the family! We had a fantastic time chatting with everyone and enjoying the delicious home-cooked meals. If you're on the fence about getting breakfast or dinner... just do it. You won't regret it!

The food was so good we overate every night we were there. We had mistakenly booked a room with twin beds instead of a full bedroom, but they were quick to accomodate us in a full-sized bedroom, so no problem there.

Very nice landlady and excelent cook. Quiet place, you are in the middle of countryside. The property can challange the etnographic museum in Gabrovo. Perfect for few days of countryside endulgence. And place to start visiting interesting places around (V Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Kazanlak, etc)

Not realy that we didn’t like. Rooms are small and bathroom tiny. But is right for the price paid. You are in a countryside house refurbished on a 100+ years old one. We loved it for the 4 days. If you plan to stay more, ask the biggest room available. Anyway, after a dinner served by the landlady, you will discard any criticism.

We loved the great hospitality at Staroto Shkolo, the awesome food from the family's dairy farm, their openness to share stories and opinions and their space with us, and the beautiful quaint countryside.

Fantastic home-made traditional Bulgarian food was served at breakfast. The hotel offers also home-made dinner which was also delicious and prepared with ingredients from the hosts' farm. The village is very quiet and has a beautiful church.
