The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.

The outside area was a bit messy and not very inviting.

nice and clean, although located at main street rooms were very quiet. Great beer garden! In walking distance to Fondation Beyeler.

Great restaurant!

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We just stayed for one night on our way back to the UK and it was an absolutely excellent choice. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was great!

The room was very comfortable. One staff member was incredibly nice. The other was nice enough. The town was a great surprise with the wonderful Vitra campus and very close to Basel

The pictures of the rooms did not correspond at all to what the room actually was. I chose this hotel based on the pictures that showed a small table and chairs in the room and paid for an upgrade of room to ensure we had this. Unfortunately there was no table nor place for one. We were told that this existed only in the suite. As it was New Years Eve, we had packed a bottle of champagne and had no place to sit other than the bed.

This hotel/restaurant is far better than I'd expected. The bedroom was lovely: beautifully decorated, stocked mini bar, air conditioning unit, large bathroom with decent sized shower cubicle and plenty of space everywhere for your own things. The best aspect of our one-night stay was the food: the evening meal was far better than anticipated, the wine was great, and the service very friendly and efficient. The breakfast is served in a cool quiet room off the garden with an amazingly cheerful and efficient lady running it. Stunningly good value, only five euros each -the previous hotel had charged 35 Swiss Francs EACH for the same buffet! I'd definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Our dinner waiter was fine, but the other two looked permanently grim and stressed. Fiddly German window: having opened it earlier, it would NOT close during the night. I know how to operate these windows but this one was a real beast. It's some way away from anything else in the small town, if you have no car.
