Beautiful, comfortable and spacious apartment. Very central - so close to Il Campo and the Duomo and restaurants and cafes. Great communications. Good facilities. Fab air conditioning which we really needed. Only issue was the back shower which trickled from the top shower but the other shower was decent. We had a lovely stay at Palazzo Nannini and look forward to returning. Highly recommend.

Our group of friends (Australian) very much enjoyed our 4 nights in the Apartment. It is very centrally located alongside the Piazza Salimbeni. Our hosts Gianluca and Alex were easy to communicate with via WhatsApp, and helped us with valet parking for our mini van, prior to entering the city centre.
We lucked upon the celebration for the recent Palio and enjoyed the fanfare.
There’s heaps of restaurants nearby and all the sights are within easy walking distance.
There was a bit of noise on the Saturday night, in particular, but we were happy to put up with it.
We all agreed we’d stay again.

This property has an excellent location and is well equipped. All the sights of Siena are readily accessible on foot and there is a very good food market close by the property. We would stay here again for sure.

Our stay here was perfect in every way. From the exceptionally warm welcome, to the exquisite apartment, its excellent proximity, elegance, charm, light and space. It’s impossible to think of how it could be bettered. Grqzie Mille.

Great stay
An exceptionally beautiful and very well located property accurately represented by the photos and description. Gianluca was personable, prompt, and helpful. Be aware that there can be considerable late-night pedestrian noise on some nights, which may or may not bother you. All of Siena’s main sights are an easy walk, the bus station is very close, and there is a great grocery store next door. All in all, a truly remarkable experience.

What an amazing experience!
We just completed our stay at this fabulous apartment in Siena. It is hard to believe but the place is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. It is located in an incredible part of town, right in the middle of everything. Everything worked. Everything was as advertised. No complaints at all. The host (Gianluca) was fantastic. He helped us out in so many ways. We made a mistake with some very expensive tickets we purchased and Gianluca found a way to fix it for us. He really saved our vacation. We would definitely return and we wish that every Home Away property and host could be a great as this was.

Unique property in an excellent location. Pictures can’t do it justice.
This apartment is in a fantastic location, an easy walk from the main sites in Siena. There are a number of nice bars and restaurants near by.
Don’t expect the standard modern offering of most short stay rentals. This property delivers the wow factor with unique style and awesome views from the drawing room and the library.

Exceeded our expectations
We rented the Palazzo Nannini for almost three months in the spring of 2019. Having recently retired, we decided to rent an apartment in Siena to refocus our lives. We preferred an urban environment – we wanted to be able to walk and experience living in Italy – we looked for an apartment near cafés, groceries stores and good restaurants. The Palazzo Nannini and Siena exceeded our expectations.
The pictures of the apartment on the web site are accurate; the apartment is large and comfortable; at times we had two other couples staying with us and there was enough space for everyone. We ate many of our meals in the apartment; the kitchen is well-equipped and even has a truffle slicer (there’s a fellow at the Campo who gathers truffles in the morning and sells them in the afternoon, so fresh truffles are often available).
The apartment is on the Branchi di Sopra Siena’s main street. Although Branchi is largely car-free, there is lots of pedestrian traffic (including many tour groups during the day), so despite the apartment having excellent windows, expect some street noise. This is more than compensated for by being in a privileged position to watch the various contrade marching through the city in preparation for the palio as well as the occasional religious procession.
Included in the rent was weekly light-housekeeping and changing of the linens which was a real plus for a long-term rental. Gianluca, the landlord, was very responsive to our requests and immediately addressed any issues which arose. We highly recommend the apartment for anyone interested in experiencing life in Tuscany.

Everything was wonderful -- Great location
Our house was like a dream. Great location. Beautiful house. Gianluca was charming and very kind in his set up of the house. All of the spaces were gorgeous and the views each morning from the dining room were beyond words. The ONLY criticism I had was that the bathrooms were not connected to the bedrooms. It was only a small issue and they provided robes for our use. Loved, loved, loved our time in Siena!

Our very favorite rental - ever!
We have been renting from HomeAway since it began back in 2004 and from a similar company for many years before that. We spend each September (and sometimes October as well) somewhere in Europe, always staying in a single location to use as a base. In all that time, in all those places, never have we stayed in a place that delighted us more.
First, the location. The photo you see of the Palacio Salimbeni is taken from the living room window. We love city and there were people and events in the square every day. One day a giant chess board was set up with huge pieces for anyone to use to play a game. Another, actors put on theatrical bits. Always something interesting.
The apartment is centrally located, very near everything. A small grocery with wine, meats and cheeses is next door, and there's a larger one two blocks away. It is an easy walk to the bus station to grab a bus into Florence (a little over an hour away).
But, most of all, best of all, is the apartment itself. It is in a building, the Palazzo Nannini, which has been owned by a single family for generations. This apartment was most recently the home of the grandmother who now lives in the countryside. Her elegant, gracious and playful touch is absolutely everywhere, in every room. The artwork, dish-ware, furnishings, all are enchanting. We were there the entire month of September and we threw the windows open to the air. We had missed the great Palio di Siena horse race which was run before we arrived. But we had the great pleasure of a parade, every Sunday, of the winners marching right past our windows, singing and carrying banners heralding their victory. This year, our contrade (neighborhood) won and it was an amazing celebration.
And, finally, we must mention the fantastic attention we received from Gianluca, a bright, personable, energetic young man who greeted us at the garage on arrival, helped us with our bags to the apartment, made sure everything was perfect, then was available to answer questions and offer suggestions throughout our stay.
If you are able, we highly recommend your experiencing this most unique property.

Fabulous place to stay in Siena
We enjoyed staying in this apartment for 8 days with 8 people. It is very large apartment and very uniquely furnished. The pictures of the apartment on the website accurately displays what the apartment looks like. The high point of the stay was the attentiveness of Gianluca, the owner. He stocked the apartment with all of the minor necessities and checked with us many times to be sure we were happy with the apartment. He is by far the best VRBO owner I have rented from.
I would recommend that you close the windows and shutters at night, in that the street noise can sometimes get loud if you do not.

Wonderful, Huge Palace
My family of 4 stayed here for two nights at the end of a wonderful Italian vacation and loved it! The palace is HUGE, and it has awesome amenities like a sauna and large Jacuzzi bathtub that easily fits 2 people. The Wi-Fi is great, the location is ideal, and Gianluca was a pleasure to deal with. You will hear some street noise from the adjacent plaza, but it's not enough to keep you awake at night. I highly recommend this property if you're staying in Siena.

Great location
Location is nearly perfect - in the city center, easy to find, yet convenient to external non-pedestrian road access. Apartment is comfortable and charmingly quirky. Our host was wonderful, and very helpful.
If driving yourself by car, you may want to get the address of the nearest parking garage to avoid a NAV system directing you through the pedestrian zone.

Exceptional Apartment
We had a wonderful 5 night stay in January. Apartment is like the photos, you feel like you are stepping back in time. Extremely central with nearby supermarket to stock up. The apartment was nice and warm and Gianluca extremely helpful.
Only slightly negative remark is there is a bit of street noise at night (unsurprisingly as so central).

Historical house close to everything
My husband and I were looking for a historical house that didn't require lots of driving or walking. This house was perfect as it was in Piazza Salimbeni on the main pedestrian street. When I walked in the house, all I could say was WOW! Painted ceilings, modern bathrooms, huge bedrooms, library, den, formal dining room, and a view of the cathedral out the dining room and kitchen. I had emailed Gianluca to ask if it was a B & B thinking all those rooms couldn't be a private house, but it is! They were all ours to enjoy. The large bed had the best mattress in our one month Italian trip. We felt like we were living in history, and shopping with all the restaurants below was so pleasant. The Campo was 5 minuets away with a short stroll. Gianluca suggested great places to eat and we took his recommendation on parking our car in the Garage Busi. Traffic was crazy with the stadium parking closed so we choose to pay $20 a day to have a garage within a 3 minute walk. It was such a relief to not have to worry about the rental car. The attendant needed to know what the apartment was to report it. He said since we were in the ZLT zone, his report would not cause us to get ticketed for simply driving in. So if you want to go to Siena and stay close to walking distance, parking distance, next to great eateries and shopping, contact Gianluca. He has great communication. Loved living in his historical home.
