Position was fantastic. Loved the mezzanine too

Windows very dirty, and inside opening of windows were full of dirt, balcony was filthy, with bird poo and feathers covering entire balcony and gutters full of the same. I had to clean deck gutters and seating before we could sit outside. Walls inside looking very tired and need painting. Carpets were worn and need cleaning. Headboard in master bedroom was very dirty and mattress full of stains. The unsuited was not adequate. Sink too small and had to use the spare bathroom which was much better size. Was told a day before arrival that the lift had broken which was fair enough but as it turned out, it has been broken for some time which is unacceptable. Considering we were on the top floor, carrying our bags etc up 54 steps and making 2 trips, this was exhausting and very painful with arthritis! We also spent approximately 1.5 hours driving around every day looking for parking. We eventually ended up getting a parking ticket outside the property on the last day due to having enough of driving around looking for a space in every car park. We thought a fine of £25 was a saving really in diesel driving around. We have also had no response on booking.com when I asked questions and still haven't had any response. I had to call sykes properties with the number given which was eventually sorted by the cleaning company! We also left the propty very much cleaner than we found it. We would not stay again sadly

Bed mattress bit too soft.

Stunning location. Amazing views of the sea and rocky shores from the back, and of the town sprawled across the hillside from the front. At night the panorama of the town all lit up on the hillside is stunning. Easy walkability to restaurants, pubs, shops, and walking paths. If you're staying in Ilfracombe, this building is the perfect location.

The deck overlooking the ocean was so filthy with seagull and pigeon poop when we arrived, that it was unusable. To step out onto it would have been to get the muck on your shoes (or bare feet) and track it back in. We stayed for 8 nights and I noticed that between holiday rentals of other units on either side of us, cleaners would come and scrub off the decks so those staying in them could enjoy the deck space. Not so with this unit--at least not before our stay. The town of Ilfracombe itself has a lot to offer, but it also has a bit of a run-down and dodgy side. For instance, on our first evening there as we walked (in daylight) a block away from the unit there was a group of six or seven young people (late teens/early 20's) committing acts of vandalism on a street corner.

I liked the view from the apparent. The apartment was spacious.

The property was dirty. The radiator in the bathroom was dirty. The extractor in the bathroom was full of dust. The bath had black mold around the edge. The single beds are old and have rips. The oven was not cleaned from the previous guests. We found a large piece of Croissant or pastry in the oven. No fairy liquid was supplied. The fridge had stains in it. The balcony had not been cleaned properly. I had to vacuume the small couch as it had not been done. The outside balcony was filthy and the windows had not been cleaned recently as there was dried bird mess all over them. The carpet in the bedrooms were dirty. I could see shoe stain on one of the carpets.

Fantastic location and apartment itself was very clean and tidy. Perfect for a family stay.

I was disappointed by the state of the balcony. It doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned for sometime. Given how amazing the view is I would make keeping the balcony clean and tidy. Plastic chairs were also extremely dirty. All windows were also covered in bird poo which looked like had been there a while. Both these points can be easily rectified which would make the stay almost perfect.
