The best location ever! And a nice classic atmosphere. We loved having our breakfast served in our own room, which is common in Solar dos Deuses.

As can be expected, a hotel in the heart of Pelourinho will be noisy. Be aware that music on the streets can go until late in the night (in our case till 11:15pm). The room is bright in the morning.

This is a beautiful hotel. Our room was huge and I loved having breakfast in the room. Great with kids who don’t tend to sit for long, but also in the times we are now living in. The breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade food. The hotel, right opposite the tourist police, felt very safe, and the staff were really friendly and accommodating, even making a cake for my son’s birthday on the day we arrived. You do need to climb up some stairs to go in, so bear that in mind if you have mobility issues or suitcases rather than backpacks. Loved the themed rooms (although we did end up in the white room so my children were a little disappointed as I’d told them the hotel was colourful!).

Nothing really. The force of water in the shower was quite weak which made it hard to wash my long hair, but I guess it’s because it’s a historic building in an old area of town.

Staying at Solar dos Deuses definitely improved our short trip to Salvador. Perfectly located at Pelourinho, you can reach the best tourist attractions in a short and pleasant walk. We had a super view from our room, which was outstanding clean, spacious and comfortable and as colourful. The staff is absolutely kind and helpful. Very strict sanitary protocols during our visit due to Covid-19 pandemic, we felt super safe all the time. Finally, the breakfast that deserves an extra chapter: fresh fruits, juice, local specialities: cheese, hams, tapioca, cakes.

The shower could be improved a bit!
