This is a beautiful cottage on the edge of town and we really enjoyed our one night stay....too short of course! Teri gave us great directions to the house, in fact communication was great throughout. She made us very welcome and the cottage had everything we needed....and more! It is very tastefully decorated and we really felt at home there, complete with a log fire for the chilly evening. This is an excellent and super friendly place to stay on R62 with it's beautiful scenery, lots of restaurants and peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Wir haben uns in dem schönen Cottage und dem wunderbar blühenden Garten sehr wohlgefühlt. Teri ist eine tolle Gastgeberin und hat uns mit tollen Tipps versorgt sowie einen Tisch in einem wundervollen Restaurant reserviert. Bei unserer Ankunft standen selbst gebackene Käsestangen und köstlich, eigene Oliven bereit! Ein kleines Paradies!

Lovely hosts and cottage! We arrived to a fireplace that was already going and some delicious homemade breadsticks and olives. The space is cosy, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

I would highly recommend Cottage 39 for anyone travelling to Barrydale. Excellent facility, with everything you need and some more. Our host Terry was very friendly and helpful and was able to answer all questions and make some excellent recommendation for restaurants and activities in and around town. Thank you again Terry. Terri was the perfect host. She was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. She even offered to put logs on the fire for us while we were out to dinner, so that we would come home to a cozy cottage. Terri also made some great recommendations for restaurants and activities. We particularly enjoyed her recommendation of Mez Karoo Kitchen. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. Here are some specific details about our stay: The cottage was clean and well-maintained. It had everything we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, and a private bathroom. The location of the cottage was perfect. It was close to town, but also in a quiet and peaceful setting. Terri was always available to answer our questions or help us with anything we needed. She was a great host and we really appreciated her hospitality. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Terri's cottage. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Terri was thoughtful and kind, always making sure we had what we needed. she made us feel so welcome and even treated us to some delicious homemade olives and cheese sticks on arrival. The loft is beautifully decorated and it has such a lovely outside seating area to enjoy the view.

The cottage is stylishly furnished and well equipped. Wonderful shower! A very safe environment with a good outlook. We didn’t braai/barbecue but the facilities were very good for this. Teri was extremely welcoming, with good recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed.

This place is amazing! Terry, the host, is so friendly and she created the most stunning guesthouse. It's cosy and stylish. Easygoing and comfortable. If you go here (which you should when going to Barrydale!) book at least 2 nights or longer. Barrydale is an interesting little down with many hidden gems to discover and Terry created a place where you at the same time can slow down and enjoy The Karoo.

We had a great stay. We felt very welcome and the stay was wonderful. Beautifully decorated. It looked like a picture from a magazine. It's the nicest stay we've been to in ages. We would have liked to stay longer… We will definitely come back here.

The Cottage is one of the best I ever stayed in: very cleverly designed (with sitting area and braai outside) and very tastefully furnished. Teri and Ren are very friendly, have a great eye for details and are extremely helpful to make sure your stay is perfect. More than recommended!

Absolutely awesome spot if you're passing through Barrydale. We were driving down route 62 and spent some time in the surrounding area. This was one of the most well equipped and lovely little spots I've stayed at over the years. Wish we had been here longer. Great location, quite, clean and beautiful. The cottage had all we needed and some very nice extras including the indoor fireplace we ended up needing to use as it was a chilly night. Would highly recommend for a couple passing through this way.

The Cottage 39 is BEAUTIFULLY decorated, in a peaceful corner of a the cute village of Barrydale, I was sad to only have stayed one night! We arrived late and during load shedding but oil lamps lighting the cottage made it feel like a safe haven (complete with homemade snacks) and the host was there to greet us with head torches. Teri was interesting, communicative and helpful- she gave us restaurant recommendations and even booked for us (although in the end we were unable to make it!). We would have loved to have had time to enjoy the pool but even sitting outside the front of the cottage with a book in the morning sun was a delight.

We loved everything about this place. It's so beautifully situated, the host was so kind, and the accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Cottage is very light and bright and beautiful furnished with very interesting reading material. Teri is very friendly and helpfull with information and even spoiled us with some home grown olives and home made cheese straws. A lovely place to stay

I would prefer to also have a top sheet on the bed for when the duvet gets to hot

The Cottage is appointed with a very personal, loving touch, which makes you extremely welcome; Teri is a very down to earth host, who likes to have a nice chat, but also allows you the privacy you are here for. A truly lovely breakaway from the hustle and buzzle of town and a place one would always want to go back to.

The one and only 'downside' is the fact that, whilst the bedroom on the mezzanine floor is quite OK, the fact that you have to climb down a steep flight of stairs to get to the bathroom, is a bit of a nuisance, especially, when you are a bit older !!

We liked the gardens, scenery and tranquillity of the premises. It is lovely to be able to relax in such surroundings.
