When planning my visit to Pokhara I opted to skip Lakeside Pokhara and stay in the village of Dithal in the hills outside of Pokhara and it was the best decision ever. Astoundingly beautiful views of the Annapurna Mountains from my room, the rooftop, everywhere. Owner and guide Krishna accompanied me on walks through villages where he told me stories about the families who live there and I was able to sit and “talk” with them. Everyone was so kind, offering me fruit and tea. I am, ironically, afraid of heights, but Krishna was able to plan walks that were within my comfort zone (he does serious trekking with those who are not afraid),. I feel my visit to Nepal would not have been complete without sharing with this rural community. Krishna’s wife Shanta was so kind also and a great cook who provided me with endless masala tea, a new addiction! As we went back down the hill road the last day she presented me with a red flower, put red paint on my forehead and placed a silk scarf around my neck for luck and a blessing. I recommend this home stay hotel to anyone who wants to really visit authentic Nepal.. Lakeside in Pokhara would have been a mistake. Lakes are many but hillside Nepali villages are once in a lifetime. Obviously clean, good water pressure and hot water, etc.

If you have a fear of heights there are some challenges driving up, but the owner and his wife accompanied me in a taxi and all was well. The driver had experience and was very good, so just make sure Krishna arranges the transport for you.

Quiet, remote, relaxing. A chance to connect with rural life in Nepal. Hosts were amazing!

Such a lovely place, clean spacious apartment, the owners are wonderful people who went out of their way to make us feel at home. So generous. Would love to come back again.

Nothing at all

The location is unbeatable- the view of the Annapurna mountain range and fishtail from every window and balcony is mesmerising. The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable and large. We had a wonderful time with Krishna and Santa who are great hosts. They ensured we had everything we needed, and cooked our breakfast, lunch and dinner to order. Krishna also took us for a hike to the neighboring village and also took us to the sunrise point at 5 in the morning. We left with our hearts full, feeling very relaxed and joyful. 10/10 highly recommend!

The location is a little hard to reach, and initially we took a longer route that required us to off-road for over 12 kms. Make sure you have Krishna book a vehicle so you have a driver that knows the most optimal route.

The views of the Annapurna range from this place are absolutely stunning. WOW!!! Our photos from the rooftop breakfast and balconies are like a dream. So gorgeous! Further, hosts Krishna and Santa are super friendly & hospitable. They offer comfortable modern rooms/suites (& bathrooms), meals, guided hikes, transport, etc. - all at very reasonable prices. The village is tiny, quiet, traditional. Dining / shopping options are very limited. But Mone's Mountain View provides a truly relaxing and serene retreat. Overall, a great experience. I sure hope we can return. Highly recommend!
