Close to city center

Car park appears to be shared by the various residence of the block. There is not enough parking for everyone. Meaning that there was infact not parking at the property. Host advised on street parking, but not allowed as residence permits only. When not enough spaces residence block the car park and we were trapped several times by different people The block itself appears to never have had its communal areas cleaned. Food, drink, piles and piles of letters, grime etc everywhere. Residence insist on keeping the front door open which greatly reduces security of the flat. Security issues persist inside the flat. The front door is broken. You can lock it from the inside but not the outside. Added to the matter of the always open front door gives a huge security risk and made us feel uncomfortable leaving our belongings in the flat. A couple of the large opening window also do not lock. Whilst the location is fine for a brief stay over, it is one of the rougher areas of Southampton. The flat is dressed very well in its pictures. But every item of furniture is dated, old, tacky and kitchen appliances dirty. Some of the towels were new but not washed beforehand, causing the typical malting of the towels. Several tiles on the floor were broken and loose. Guest can easily cut their feet on these if not careful. Door locks for bathrooms all broken. All walls and doors wafer thin, even to other apartments. General standard of cleanliness was poor but passable. Generally fine throughout but lots of specific dirty items, stains etc Would not recommend a stay here to anyone unless it becomes a very cheap stay option. Also note that all previous reviews are family stays. Hence the fake high rating on booking.com

Good size, good facilities, hosts were quick to respond to any problems, central location, convenient parking.

-Although it was in a central location, the people who lived in the same block liked to leave the main front door open all day and all night and often sat out on the front steps drinking. We have a young family and didn't feel 100% safe with the front door being left open all the time. - Just to clarify for others: the check out time is actually 10:00, not 11:00 as listed on booking, the guest portal and in the arrival pack.
